So are the Yankee leeches in Manchester too, or is it the club hierarchy (Arnie and Johnny M) giving the tour? That would seem odd given that it was reported a few weeks ago that people over here were in the dark about the whole process…..

Both RB clubs were in the same group in the CL not long ago, they've already set the precedent that it's not an issue for them
Yeah but they had to do a bunch of paperwork to prove they were two separate entities. I believe they are considering removing the rule altogether.

To be fair they’ll technically won’t be the same owners under current laws anyway?

PSG are owned by Qatar, United are wanted by a man who is from Qatar. From what we know and are told so far, that's all there is to it.

"elsewhere"? It was that very same paper (and only them) which said it would be extended to early June

Edit: it was even the same journalist

Interesting, do they specify where the 4th bidder is coming from? I know the 3rd bidder is meant to be an unknown US consortium.

6 parties mentioned in the article I have made bold. We have the main 2 (Jassim and Ratcliffe), 4 hedge funds (Elliott, Ares, MSD Partners and Oaktree Capital) and then 2 bidders that are still anonymous who also want to buy the club in its entirety.
They do not full article is below.

As many as eight groups are in talks with Manchester United about the future ownership of the club, Telegraph Sport understands.

Representatives for Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are among those holding meeetings in Manchester as the Glazers keep leading contenders guessing.

Some of the eight are interested in a full takeover while others are contemplating financing options. Brokers are midway through a busy schedule of meetings, and met with US hedge fund Elliott Management last week. Elliott Management are understood, however, not to be interested in a full takeover.

As reported by Telegraph Sport, executives at United have been explaining to bidders about the "opportunities and challenges" of running the club. One source close to talks says United's director of football, John Murtough, is among the delegation addressing interested parties.

Representatives for Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe are attending Old Trafford this week as two of four meetings scheduled by Friday. There will also be at least one further meeting with another interested party next week before United's controversial owners decide who should advance to a third stage of talks.

Insiders maintain that the process remains on track and a deal is within reach by the end of next month, despite fears elsewhere that the deadline could be extended.

Only the Qatari and Ineos bids have publicly disclosed their preference for a total buyout of the six Glazer siblings' controlling Class B shares. Sources with knowledge of the process say there are two other parties interested in buying the club in its entirety.

Other groups – like Elliott – are instead prepared to help finance a takeover by an interested party. Elliott previously owned AC Milan before selling the club to American investment group RedBird Capital last year. US hedge funds Ares, MSD Partners and Oaktree Capital are also said to be willing to provide financing.

The Americans want at least £5 billion to sell but it is thought the offers from Sheikh Jassim and Ratcliffe fall short of that valuation.

Uefa considers relaxing dual ownership rules
Another hurdle for those two interested parties may be cleared, however, with Uefa considering allowing clubs with the same owner to play in the Champions League simultaneously. Aleksander Ceferin, Uefa's president, said in an interview this week with Gary Neville’s The Overlap YouTube channel that a rethink of the existing rules was needed.

Ratcliffe’s Ineos group also owns Nice, while there have been concerns raised about links between Sheikh Jassim, the chairman of one of Qatar’s biggest banks, and Qatar-owned Paris Saint-Germain.

But Ceferin said: “We are not thinking about Manchester United only. We’ve had five or six owners of clubs who want to buy another club. We have to see what to do. The options are that it stays like that or that we allow them to play in the same competition. I’m not sure yet.

“We have to speak about these regulations and see what to do about it. There is more and more interest in this multi-club ownership. We shouldn’t just say no for the investments for multi-club ownership, but we have to see what kind of rules we set in that case, because the rules have to be strict.”

At United, meetings are taking place between interested parties and Raine, the merchant bank running the process, and the Glazers’ financial advisors Rothschild in Manchester.

Insiders have told Telegraph Sport that the Glazers, whose ownership of United has been opposed by fans groups since their 2005 takeover, remain “determined sellers” at the right price.

Bidders are being given access to more detailed financial information and the chance to more closely examine Old Trafford and the club’s Carrington training base, both of which require substantial investment. “They’re going to have a chance to look under the bonnet,” one source said.

We enter the endgame…

Soon United will be owned by people who simply want the club at the top of the game without debt and with a competent infrastructure that can support the club at the top for decades to come.

Some will be upset with the morals of our owners home country and their human rights records however it should be distinguished from what is ultimately a sporting project in a country that has its own moralistic issues.

Sports and Politics often overlap but it should only be highlighted for good. If the powers that be in Qatar see how we operate in the UK and understand how the women’s teams for example is a shining beacon of success and how equal opportunities can flourish I am confident they will be inspired and look to improve at home issues.

However football is football, escapism, 90mins of passion energy and dreams I believe Jassim an co represent that vision and share the belief we all have that United can be at the top of the pile with the right support.

I find myself excited of the prospect of being at the top table again and having the means to do things the right way on and off the pitch.

I really hope the Qatari approved Shiek Jassim Al Thani bid wins and begin planning for one of the most exciting summers in 17 years.

I'm not sure, it sounds like wishful thinking. Maybe I'm just being sceptical but the idea of Qatari owners looking at their new playtoy football club including a strong women's team, and then thinking they should go and increase women's rights back home, seems far-fetched.

I'd love to see it happen, don't get me wrong, but it seems like something more intended to raise the rep of the country as a whole rather than making them fix things?

Nothing personal, but this is an incredibly naive post. Good luck to you though. I hope United find this sporting Utopia.

The growth of the women's team has been very inspiring though mate, you'd be surprised. I think that poster is correct anyway, the logic is sound.

I think it's rather more likely that owning Utd will further normalise Western business dealings with Qatar, thus reducing the appeal of changes to human rights at home that would make Western partners more comfortable.

Owning Manchester United will bring a lot of attention to the owner.

Just as players never realise how big the club is until they sign, I too feel this will apply to the new owners. Good luck.

The logic is not sound.
Qatar set up a women’s national team to satisfy the FIFA requirements for hosting the World Cup.
In FIFA’s 30-plus-page bid evaluation report of Qatar, in the section about developing the sport, Qatar outlined its commitment to the “promotion of women’s football, including creation of special facilities.”
The team played its first matches in a tournament in 2010 and were beaten 18-0, 17-0 and 12-0. They haven’t played a game since 2014 and have dropped out of the FIFA rankings as a result.
In Qatar, the disappearance of the women’s team was in many ways an old, familiar story: When it came to resource allocation, men’s soccer came first.
That’s hardly a glowing endorsement of women’s football, which is concerning for Utd women’s supporters when important players like Russo are out of contract. It’s also indicative of women’s importance in Qatari society which running United is unlikely to change.

It's nearly as farfetched as people thinking boycotting everything Qatar is gonna change them too.

Not sure they'd need to own a football club in England to be motivated to make changes to better the lives of the people in their own country.

Plus Qatar have already owned a team in France for over a decade.

So... we've got eight potential buyers (four interested in minority purchases or financing to some degree and four interested in full takeovers). One wonders who the unknown two full takeover buyers are (presumably one is the previously mentioned anonymous US consortium).
