Positive talks with Bagel man, apparently, despite having a 5-7 person shortlist. No talks with anyone else under consideration, or are basically only interested in him?

Perhaps, he's the only one who might create a headline/clicks.
approached luis enrique too says matt law.

is there anyone in the Bundi you would suggest United look at?
Frankfurt's Kamada on a free for the central midfield would be a great option.
Union's Danilo Doekhi as an additional CB would add a bit more no-nonsense defending.
Leipzig's Andre Silva hasn't constantily impressed, but there is a top striker as he showed in Frankfurt and could therefore become excellent business.

That would be my three non-hyped players you could have a look at (well, Kamada was somewhat hyped), apart from the obvious names like Bellingham, Kolo Muani or "just sign Bayern's squad"

But of course we have to discuss all these as "Glasner might want them for his Chelsea squad" so for this thread I'd narrow the relevance down to Kamada

But that's my point, there was a list of 5/6 options, but they only choose to report about Bagel man, like he's really who they want and the other names are just that, names.

I'm calling out lazy journalism, mate.
its looking like nagelsman . german media reporting it,too

Thoughts?
Bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad bad.

AVB regen. Focused on himself far too much - to the detriment of the players in the team. Lacks authority, never won anything significant outside of Germany, etc etc.

Luis Enrique is the only actual top coach available.

Yeah I’m surprised not looking at a more experienced coach after the Potter experiment.

Some reports at Bayern said he didn’t command the dressing room much like what’s come out with Potter.

Boehly seems determined for a young project builder though? Or does he perhaps want someone who won’t challenge him like Tuchel?

Even that one league title he has in Germany is somewhat tarnished by being won by the lowest points total of a league winner since 2011 (Klopp's first title with Dortmund).

If that's his plan I don't think Nagelsmann would be the right choice.

Chelsea could play Bayern in theory in the SF's of the UCL couldn't they?

That would be amazing, Nagelsman v Tuchel only not in the dugouts you thought not even a year ago

Honest answer is who the feck knows. Enrique makes sense to me as an authoritative guy who is system-driven - given that the bulk of this squad succeeded under a similar manager in Tuchel that's a point in his favour for me.

Wrong profile for their club. This really is going to be a long process for Chelsea and their fans. Couldn’t happen to a nicer club….

I think if they had any sense about them they would be trying to feed Simeone with riches. He’ll get them back on track.. but will require a lot of rework as this rebuild has been terrible. 85% of the squad can go.
If you think Simeone is the right man for us, I’m going to take your assessment of Enrique with a huge pinch of salt.

More I think about it more I am keen on Enrique.

Also with him here we may have a small (not deluded enough to think we'll be anywhere near favourites) chance of poaching Gavi if his contract situation can't be sorted.

In the last 20 years make me a Chelsea team that has played pretty football and been elite.

The fact you don’t know your own club is more alarming.

I hope you do get Enrique and try play pretty football. It will be a long way back for you guys!!

Plan and simple you guys are the German efficiency of this Prem League. It’s past of your DNA and the quicker you buy players and a manger for it the better off your club will be.

Simeone is perfect. Oshimen upfront and an industrial CM. You guys will be fine.

Enrique is the only genuinely top manager available, everyone else is second tier at best. The team badly needs an authoritative presence - and Enrique went so far as to stamp his authority on the apex Barca teams by holding even Messi accountable. Yet despite that Messi still cites him along with Pep as the two best managers he's ever played under - and Pep called Enrique's Barcelona the best team ever.

Why Chelsea would even consider anyone else is totally beyond me.

Mourinho 05/06. Ancelotti 09/10. Mourinho 14/15 we were very fun with late-peak Fabregas as the engine. Even Conte's Chelsea in 16/17 was very fun since we were demolishing everyone by having a novel formation and apex Hazard.

I do agree he's by the far the best option but i wouldn't be against Nagelsmann and i feel even Pochettino would serve a purpose given his record of developing young players (which is crucial given how raw some of them look, Mudryk especially).

A left field option if the hunt does get desperate could be Crespo, he's already on the brink of his third career trophy with the one he's close to winning being the same one Xavi did and his transition to European football has gone well (atleast domestically).

I know my club very well thank you. Filling the squad with a bunch of a very talented young players and then handing them over to Simeone is the height of stupidity. No thanks. You’re welcome to him yourselves. Give us Ten Hag.

That’s the problem you think this crop of talented youngsters are going to work like you are Arsenal.

That’s the problem I’m trying to get across. Your club isn’t built this way and I don’t know why Todd thought this was a good idea. But then again he doesn’t have a clue.

That Ancelotti team was so good. Scored 103 goals, think only City have beaten it in a season.

An excellent team, pipped Utd to it by a point that year. Would have been four titles back to back for United. In fact considering we lost the title 2 years later to City on gd, we could conceivably have won six in a row. But yeah Chelsea were excellent that year although we knocked you out of the CL that year if I recall correctly.

That was the following year, Jose's Inter knocked us out that year.

That 2nd leg of that tie was actually worse than Moscow for me (well maybe not in the moment but certainly once the dust settled). As shit as the latter was I felt we still had more shots at it, going out in 2011 genuinely felt like the final chance for the old guard to get the trophy was gone and 999/1000 it would have been but thankfully a miracle occurred when they (as a collective) were on their last legs.

Trying to carry on down a certain route no matter how outdated/misguided it is because it's "club DNA" is what heavily contributed to getting you guys in such shit in the last decade (giving Ole loads of time and handing significant minutes to academy players that will clearly never be United quality).

That team of yours absolutely deserved a CL to be fair. United playing at Stamford Bridge was as bad or worse than Anfield in terms of our record there.

It’s silly to suggest a club can only play football one way. Sometimes a team can only play one way but given how much of this team is new, you can’t really say what way they’re best suited to playing.

The same Arsenal that played flowing football under Wenger were synonymous with boring 1-0’s under Graham, just a few years apart…just like Ancelotti eventually following Mourinho.

More experience than nagelsman though. He’s achieved even less.
I don’t want Bagel man either. Though the structure with Vivell and Boehly being in Stuttgart would all point to him.

We need a tough manager who isn’t afraid of kicking some arse and has the necessary experience to steer the club back in the correct direction. Along with a huge lump of useless sacks of shits just hanging around the training ground, we are over saturated in young players that need guidance. This is not a job for inexperienced managers.

I also don’t believe Enrique is the right fit. This is unfortunately the reason I wouldn’t have fired Potter until a full investigation into the season was done in May.

For the point of Arsenal.. that was a cultural reboot.. It’s quite fine to implement something brand new and to gain its advances with the surprise element on the rest of the league.

But to go away from you principles to implement something that has already been done before by clubs who are well traditioned in that style you are not going to get the upper ground.

But I’m just a guy with an opinion. We shall see if these Chelsea fans are happy to see a project manager come in trying to work with youth like Mudryk, Madueke and Badiashile attempting to win titles in 4 years time

I mean what could go wrong.

No the problem there was we had a shite manager, who still can’t get a job.

Our club DNA is why people like Jose Mourinho failed and will always fail here.

Over rated. In my mind he has achieved what has been expected of him. Nothing more.
He was expected to coach the best club side ever? He took Barcelona to heights beyond what Pep did and improved them dramatically by being less dogmatic about his approach.

I reckon Luis Enrique will be peps successor.
Could see that. Or could see Arteta going back potentially if they make a ludicrous offer.

I hope they go with Nagelsmann over Enrique, they'll be back strong if they go with Enrique, and it also probably rules out the chance we ever get him to manage us if Ten Hag gets the boot.

ETH will be backed, with players coming in the summer we can be a proper team.
