Stupid question but is the number under weapons related to their attack power or durability?

What ratio do you spend your light of blessing on when it comes to hearts and stamina. So far i go for hearts exclusively but im not sure its wise.

I did stamina first. I wanted a second ring. Swimming, climbing, gliding longer, sprinting. Then hearts for me. I am not engaging every enemy though. A lot more temples exploring etc.

I've just been doing hearts really. Have dozens of stamina foods so the default bar is kind of infinite for me. Might swap back as i have enough health at this point to take a couple of hits. Just the way it worked out for me finding so many stamina ingredients.
Weapon number is attack power but stronger weapons last longer too, so you could view it as durability related.

The chest puzzles in shrines being more complicated than the main ones doesn’t really feel worth it when you get an Opel at the end.

I have bought this 2 days ago yet haven't touched this. Reading all the comments here is giving me such FOMO it hurts.

Thankfully I get friday afternoons off and so will get my anti-social on and put a good 5/6 hours into this!

I keep getting diverted from my original goals. I spend more time flying and floating across the map than I do on my horse. Only 2 stables still but I got all my skytowers yesterday. Spent an hour making sushi and riceballs once I found rice. That isn't even getting into fighting much yet. Still have to do the rest of the Phenomena quests.

Am I the only person that never uses a horse?
Horses suck in this game. Id take Roach anyday. Also you have to be near them to call which doesnt jibe with all flying and climbing shit you do. I might try putting it on a plane and send my horse into outer space.

I prefer that. Completely kills the immersion when you trek miles away from your horse then they appear in seconds when you whistle.

I am going to write a terrible review to the elixir committee on those sticky elixirs. I got tired of it raining when I'm half a mile up a cliff climbing so I went to make them I don't think they work well. Its a little better than having nothing. But I still had to go wait on a ledge and make coffee till it stopped raining yesterday.

Just stick a rocket on your shield and launch yourself up. Or use a balloon.

I need to try shield fusions I have not done any yet. Rockets would have been helpful when I made it up to Hyrule castle to loot it.

Is this worth getting for someone who hasn't played a Zelda game since OoT?

The crafting puts me off a bit, looks clunky as.
I love Ocarina of Time and it's simplicity yet total Immersion into the world.

I prefer teleporting horses. The mechanic in this game is a bit more realistic though so i get what you mean. Epona used to essentially teleport though. I loved that horse until it was put down by @horsechoker

Is it better than Ocarina?
I dont know games have evolved since then. Its hard to compare a N64 game with a 2023 switch game. When Oot came out it was considered a open world game at the time. I think in terms of narrative, sense of purpose, and the strong points oot is better, but totk is very creative and certainly is a great game but suffers imo from the same flaws as botw. But thats just my opinion. If you dont own a switch i cant say if its worth getting it just for this game, but if you have a switch i would definitely give it a go.

Yeah I have a switch, was looking for a another immersive game to play as just completed a couple of resident evils and the Switch is handy for my nomadic lifestyle.
Thanks mate.

I give up, I guess I just don't like Zelda games. I can see that it's a well made and unique game, but it's just so... boring to me. Same as BotW.

Is it the gameplay loop? Is it the lack of direction? Anything in particular?

At this point I can’t find any real use for half of those Zonai devices but I’m sure they are there for something. I must say I’m enjoying sky islands more than I expected I would.

Has anyone done Jiukoum Shrine?

I don’t want the solution but am I on the right track with this idea? Driving me mad.

EDIT: Never mind. Immediately after posting this I realised what I needed to change and did it.
Ha! I just did this, same mistake as you and then figured it out next try. Was unusually impressed with myself as well.

I think it mentions that the first sticky elixir you make has 'low level' ability. I took that to mean you can upgrade it later. But that's just a guess.

Speaking of coffee. I was genuinely stumped on one Shrine (Makasura Shrine) and quit it having no idea whatsoever how to solve it. So I went to make a coffee and was cursing my dumb brain when the solution hit me. Went back and did it first try. Guess there must be something to this coffee break malarkey.

Also is anyone else finding money really hard to come by? I found a piece of clothing I really wanted days ago and still don't have the 500 rupees I need to buy it. Was thinking how expensive it was when i just found another one that costs 5,000? Is prostitution an option in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom?

Theres ways to avoid paying that much for clothes. I've been selling gems - ruby's, emerald's and the like. I had about 200 glowing plants so i just sold a pile of them. Only time i've seen rupee's dropping is when shooting the glowing rabbits

Went back to the starting point from Breath of the Wild for a wander. Its worth checking out. No idea what the stuff there does, i had to unlock something, but theres stuff there. Really high level enemies though. I didn't stay long, felt potentially spoilery.

Lack of direction I think. Not sure exactly. I think it's also the, in my eyes, uninteresting combat mechanics. Sure, you can be extremely creative, but I like smooth and challenging combat that's the main focus of a game as opposed to what it is here.

It's definitely a taste thing, because the freedom of movement (climbing without conveniently placed climbing holds in particular), exploration and sense of adventure are amazing.

Was BOTW your first or did you also play some of the previous ones?

Yeah i honestly dont know how to rupee farm. It could have improved the whole economy and combat aspect if enemies dropped them like in former games.

I enjoyed the Game Boy ones like A Link to the Past (I think?). Never really managed to get into OoT either which at the time also annoyed me since everyone agreed it was the best thing ever. Didnt play Wind Waker or Skyward Sword.

I dont know how old you were when you played Oot because if you didn't enjoy that when it was a somewhat recent game then Zelda games probably arent your thing considering you've tried the old and new formula.
