Safe mid-table teams are usually the best teams to play because, as Paul Merson once pointed out, these fellas are going off on holidays in a fortnight. They don't want to spend their holidays on a treatment table, on crutches or in a cast.
Sure, Bournemouth will want to win in front of their fans for their final home match, but are they going to put in one of those maniacal, energetic performances you see from relegation threatened teams at this stage of the season? This is a much more favourable fixture for us than say, Everton or Leeds away would be, who are both fighting for their lives.
Having said that, if we continue our trend of not taking chances when they arise, we're only going to give Bournemouth more confidence as the game goes on. We need to start tomorrow's game with pace and intent, not one of these slowly-slowly, ease our way into the game starts we've been putting in away from home.
