@nimic if @Solius and I go to war, I'm gonna need minute-by-minute updates. I'd like to think that his animosity towards me is matched so that I'm not blindsided when it kicks off.

Is @RedSky still my ally or has he turncoated to the Spaniards? He must be miffed having got exactly zero gains from Solius' Iberian war.

This would be the biggest war of the game yet, no?

He's still your ally. Your allies are RedSky, P-Nut, VeevaVee, Organic Potatoes and Samid. You have so many allies.

I'm an ally to half of Europe.

@BD has taken the Exploration idea, he wants to get out and experience new things (and maybe get away from Solius for a bit). Though first he has to make sure he doesn't lose against Kongo, who he attacked without having his army in place.

I guess knowledge of this exact part of Northern Brazil just spread, because suddenly @AnotherLondonManc, @KirkDuyt and @Solius are all colonizing right next to each other.

I wondered what giving an extra colonist to everyone would mean, but I think it's working out. Organic Potatoes has still had a lot of advantage from picking the exploration idea, and now BD will be able to get a head start too in new areas. But in a test game I ran literally the entirety of the Americas were colonized by a single country, which won't happen here. What's European history without some colonial wars, eh?

How the hell did I lose 561K troops?! Are we using wooden swords still?

Maybe a more structured way of playing - say 50 years every working way and allowing us some input between turns - such as forging alliances etc.

Im down. Together we can spread the truth of Allah, and drive the filthy heathen from our shores.
Listen, we discovered algebra, pin-hole cameras, coffee, chess, flight (1,000 years before Kitty Hawk), BATHING (yes bathing you smelly English dogs), SOAP, modern chemistry (distillation, evaporation, crystallization, purification, filtration, oxidation techniques), sulphuric acid, nitric acid, the alembic still (for perfumes and alcoholic spirits), the crank-shaft, quilting, the pointed arch, scalpels, forceps, bone saws (too soon?), fine scissors, naturally dissolving stitches, opium, hollow needles, windmills (suck it, Holland!), inoculation, the fountain pen, NUMERALS, three course meals, weaving, astronomy, and gardens for contemplation: and after all this, we are still getting thumped by a bunch of smelly Eurotrash heathen dogs???
