but why would he make an improved bid rather than just walking away now?

Keegan also states the bid will stand after Friday but they just won’t submit any more after then. I suspect it’s partly calling the Glazers bluff
People with unlimited money think a lot of themselves. They didn't take initial negotiations seriously. They didn't take competition seriously. It's literally Woodward trying to buy Maguire. It's a joke from them in terms of negotiations and we should be fecking terrified of how they'd run us if they were to actually win.

The difference in bids is now relatively tiny I think. They’d be mad not to take the Qatar offer
If you think the Glazers are going to accept the lower offer then you're going to be left disappointed.

They have no sentimental attachment to Man United, apart from their selling their main cash cow.

They don't give a crap who the fans want to buy the club and will only accept the offer that suits them and makes them the most money, which reportedly seems to be the INEOS offer.

"Martial...He's isolated Skrtel here..."
He's trying to turn them into a sustainable team. It's not a dumb thing to do. That doesn't mean he's trying to turn them into an elite side. He took over a historically mid table team, and starting off by making them sustainable is not a bad idea. Making United sustainable with our revenue potential is the right move anyway.
We were always sustainable, and the actual people involved with Nice don’t have anything good to say.

But sure keep up hopium I guess since apparently how a club is bought dictates how we’d do transfer dealings as well

Sounds like its the take it or leave it stage....... my fear is that the Glazers will stupidly leave it.
It's always been a case of screwing the most money out of the Qataris. I imagine they will be announced Friday or Monday.

The Glazers would receive more money now.

Imagine them buying a player who is valued at 80 mil. “We will give you 50 mil, but we will give the player 70 mil in wages over the next three years and we will vastly improve him so he can win balon d’or in future. This is our last and best offer.”

Big difference that seems to need repeating here for the constant confusion.

The SJR offer might be higher as it offers zero guarantee of clearing the debt, only reducing it overtime, or funding that meets the level of investment the club needs plus they'll keep the leeches in the picture.

Folks are still seemingly dug in regardless of the long-term ramifications for the club we support, just ask Nice fans how they feel about INEOS ownership.
It’s fascinating how some here can’t differentiate from the fact buying 1% for £2 is massively different in many aspects from buying 100% for £100.

Amateurish already offering ridiculously over the odds? You do realise buying 51% is a lot different and less risky than buying 100% at the same share price?
Amateurish is not taking any deadlines seriously. Amateurish is not taking competition seriously. Amateurish is making 2 offers after what was supposed to be the 3rd and final round of bidding. Ratcliffe was smart and clever with negotiations and found a medium that got him discussing finer details with them to get the deal done, with the eventual succession plan to be the full owner. Qatar didn't have the business nous to think of that. That's all it is. They've been entirely amateurish this whole process, Ratcliffe has been smart and showed his experience at getting deals done.

Reckon that will be that. Glazers have done what they are best at, squeezing the lemon until there’s nothing left and taking the cash.

Sir Jim has this locked. This looks like a Hail Mary.
Looks a little desperate, yes. A Hail Mary, possibly, but I think it is more likely that, as per The Times above this is a bit of PR cover to allow Qatar to walk away before Ineos emerge as winners - "we tried, but the Glazers didn't want to sell". It seems that negotiations between Ineos and Raine are a long way down the road.

I wish they would stop saying they have bid so and so " with 1 billion pledged for investment on top " that's not part of the bid and it's been a theme since day one.

It's like trying to buy a 100k house and saying I will give you 70k and I'll spend 30k on a loft conversion and conservatory once you've moved out.
This is what I don’t understand - why do they not understand that the Glazers don’t care what SJ is going to do after a takeover because they won’t be involved anymore. Just like they’re not bothered about what happens with the shares they don’t own.

Qatari's either get the club, or set up SJR to be completely hated by the fanbase for allowing the Glazers to stay in some capacity and not clearing the debt.
The Qataris are not clever enough to do either of those things. The only ones who will hate Ratcliffe are, well... Like the Qataris.

It's good that not all United fans have completely lost the plot.

If SJ is serious he’d be better off just trying to buy the Glazers out first and worry about the minority shares after that.

Sir Jim beat Jassim completely. Guy just knows the business. I bet that Jassim didn't expect that trick with bid which includes Glazers staying.
This "final bid" (second final bid ) is just another proof that Jassim is losing a battle.
Well done Jim.

We are fecked.

Even if Sheikh’s bid was higher valuation than Ineos, it would be true Glazer arrogance to still reject it just because they didn’t like the fact he gave them a deadline.

Hard to believe we're very likely not going to be rid of them. Rival fans must be pissing themselves laughing.

It's about as good an indicator as anything. Well that, and look at how PSG is run. You want our new owners handing the keys to the kingdom to Mbappe, bending over backwards just to keep a player at a club? Being a rollercoaster off the pitch? A revolving door of managers, constant 150m+ signings and the owners wanting to be the center of attention, everything the club is about being thrown in the trash?

Run us like a normal, smart club. How the feck do you get we are a sustainable club? We are run like shit under the Glazers. All they had to do to be acceptable owners was run us smartly. We don't need Arab money. We need just smart owners.

Obviously Glazer's have been waiting for another's bid from Jassim otherwise they would've accepted this bid that Ineos put in weeks ago that was worth more and has apparently had Ineos in the lead. So now the bid is made and the deadline has been placed by Jassim, hopefully it is the endgame. Unless Jassim goes back on this Friday deadline, which would be suicide basically. Would leave him in no position of strength.

I feel this is what the Glazer's have been waiting for and hopefully, it's enough to convince them of Jassim or accept the Ineos offer. One way or the other, finish this damned process.

That’s what he’s trying to do. Buy their 69%. There’s no obligation or deadline to buy the remaining from the stock market.

Every other club taken over by Middle Eastern money it was a formality. Why are these Qatari's getting outbid? Something doesn't seem right here.
Because the other clubs were bought for a fraction of our asking price
