This isn't the gotcha you seem to think it is.How is it tiresome?
If Man City didn't buy success answer me this.
Before Arab money, where were Man City?

Agreed, we can spend money on infrastructure. We're not Man City, mate. Even before the potential Saudi ownership, we're already spending about as much as FFP allows. I don't expect our transfer spending to increase much following the purchase. It can't.
What we will be able to do though, is renovate the stadium and training/youth set-up, and clear the debt. Which I'm sure we can all agree is a good thing.
As is often true with the British press they think they can will things into existence. If they repeat it enough times it will somehow manifest out of their arses. How bad have the British press been then? said Jim is winning about a thousand times and even was in advanced talks wrapping up a deal they know absolutely feck all
The fact that it’s getting on for 11am and hardly anybody is denying the story says everything. Stones went so far to say people close to the deal are denying it’s been done….because it hasn’t been done yet, they won’t announce anything until the papers are signed
This bit is key to me. If we go out and sign Mbappe and we're paying him outlandish wages with offshore "sponsors" inflating his earnings, then fair enough to those claiming it was all superficial and state backed but up until that happens, it's a bit premature to start crying about it.This is a United fans forum and people have the right to express their opinion.
Although I think people misunderstand EtH if they think he's somehow worried his potential success in 5 years could be tainted by actually having the resources which correspond to our club.
Yeah have said it since Jassim first declared his interest that I'm more intrigued to see what can be done with the stadium and training groundWe're not Man City, mate. Even before the potential Saudi ownership, we're already spending about as much as FFP allows. I don't expect our transfer spending to increase much following the purchase. It can't.

Im not trying to get you or anyone...This isn't the gotcha you seem to think it is.
Yep, so bottom line is we dont know. Which is what I am saying, no one knows.Yet SJR hasn’t upped his bid since?
What if…
- Neither of them were front runners but both of them were told that the decision hadn’t yet been made?
- Qatar were proactive and kept pushing the envelope.
- Ratcliffe was already at his (self imposed) financial limit and the best he could do was get creative with factors of minority ownership.
- The Glazers have always wanted a full sale and had no real interest in being minority owners under Ratcliffes control but Raine knew they could use the threat to leverage pressure on the
Thanks, at least this is sensible.Yes I want Jassim to win the bid like many others, however I also think it's important to understand the ones who feel conflicted. This has been a massive part of their lives so consideration for that is important.
Could be because there are no actual developments and the noise from Twitter is just crap.English media are still quiet about all this. Nothing about who is winning a race.
Well in, Pete. Deserved. I know a lot of people were saying stuff about you, like you’re a saddle sniffer and you got your cousin pregnant, but I rarely joined in.Which is as credible as my dad saying that PeteReDevil has bought United
Yeah, so far nothing from any reliable sources. Could be one of those "transfer deal is imminent" stories that actually have no truth to them, you know the ones that happen 10 times a summer.English media are still quiet about all this. Nothing about who is winning a race.
No that part is undeniable; but to try an equate any success United might find under a Qatari ownership to City is just fecking stupid.Im not trying to get you or anyone...
Merely stating the facts, City are where they are because they got arab owners. The proof is there, pre arab money they were fighting relegation...
I get it, you think otherwise but people have different opinions.
You mean like scousers in 2020No that part is undeniable; but to try an equate any success United might find under a Qatari ownership to City is just fecking stupid.
We did earn our place at the table, unfortunately football has changed so much in the last decade that external influences and money is needed to consistently compete at the top. You'll get the odd team that can stand up to the might of City, but they're short-lived as they fall away when they can't financially compete.
With the money we spent we should have been able to spend more. It’s something like a Billion spend in 10 years but 1 billion was taken out.Yes but we have been successful pre Glazers. Even though the Glazers have bee really bad, we still have spent money to try and be the best, sometimes a top tier manager comes along and you cant do anything about it, which is what Pep is.
Personally I now think it's a case of the media admitting that once again this is a two horse race rather than Ratcliffe leadingI’ve got a feeling that yesterday’s “news” from the Qatari source may have been a bit premature or even wishful thinking on their part. Then, the share price increase was merely due to speculation based on that.
Not to say they won’t win, I just think we’re as we were.
Kaveh: "The feeling is....from. mysources... is I.Haven't.Got. AfeckingClue."English media are still quiet about all this. Nothing about who is winning a race.
Wouldn't want to talk about that, first signing etc because will end up jinxing thingsHave we got a songs for Jassim thread yet?
Fake. If it was real there would be trending news for small bears and marmalade sandwiches.Trends in Peru.
What are your Fiances like? how do you plan on managing the debt? I've heard rumours you have a dodgy human's rights record? is it true you are only buying united to get some positive press as people are angry that you arn't separating your recycling? How did you vote on Brexit?Which is as credible as my dad saying that PeteReDevil has bought United
Yes.I have only one question for you and people who've raised a similar argument. Has this been your consistent thought process through the years? With Chelsea, City and Newcastle, did you honestly never raise the oil/blood money or bought the success questions?
Or has it just changed because we may become one of them?
And you have the will of power to stop rooting and having feelings about the club you supported your whole life because of owners? It's not about people saying it, it's about us knowing it as fans.
Loads of people, very clearly.
Previously, especially under SAF Utd had financial dominance over the rest of the league, arguably more-so than City do now, as back then very few teams could afford to rebuff the offers we made for players, whereas the lower clubs now have a much stronger financial footing.Feels like a proper gut punch, club as we know it is dead. For those who can enjoy the new state backed FM experiment I'm sure they'll have a grand time but it'll never be the same for a lot of us.
I said at the start of this I feel sorry for ETH. It looked like he could challenge on merit but now his success will be tainted by being another state plaything who bought success.
I’m certainly not getting my hopes up yet. I’ll carry on believing it will be Brexit Jim in bed with the Glazer parasites until proven otherwise. Will soften the blow much more when we do finally hear the outcome and it isn’t the one we want.I’ve got a feeling that yesterday’s “news” from the Qatari source may have been a bit premature or even wishful thinking on their part. Then, the share price increase was merely due to speculation based on that.
Not to say they won’t win, I just think we’re as we were.
Yeah all we have had from the UK press is Stone saying significant share price rise and Jacobs saying neither party has heard yet if they are successfulNo Uk press is saying anything, seems like there is some sort of embargo
Something will be announced soon
I have not spoken about any further success for us under any ownership. I was talking about City.No that part is undeniable; but to try an equate any success United might find under a Qatari ownership to City is just fecking stupid.
We did earn our place at the table, unfortunately football has changed so much in the last decade that external influences and money is needed to consistently compete at the top. Of course it can if we‘re debt-free - that completely changes our annual accounts. We're not Man City, mate. Even before the potential Saudi ownership, we're already spending about as much as FFP allows. I don't expect our transfer spending to increase much following the purchase. It can't.
Or they don't know anything, like everyone else.No Uk press is saying anything, seems like there is some sort of embargo
Something will be announced soon
Feels more like they don't have a clue and are waiting to see what side they should fall on.No Uk press is saying anything, seems like there is some sort of embargo
Something will be announced soon
First but of negative news from Jim’s camp we’ve seen during the whole process.https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Art...rachat-de-manchester-united-par-ineos/1401663
SJR to spend United money on Nice if he loses the bid.
Ten Hag, for the record, is excited by the prospect, citing - “there will be more money for the project”I feel sorry for ETH. It looked like he could challenge on merit but now his success will be tainted by being another state plaything who bought success.
Can't see how there would be an embargo, more likely the more reputable journalists are trying to get confirmation before they make any claims. It could simply be a case of the market having just had a dodgy tip and ran with it and we will be sitting here a month from now and there has been no news.No Uk press is saying anything, seems like there is some sort of embargo
Something will be announced soon
Exactly. You mean like scousers in 2020
You’re the fella who doesn’t want Qatar ownership and be looking for Mbappe next month when they takeover.Absolutely terrible post. You're aware people dont wake up and decide oh I'm gonna be a fan of United and then switch the club they support on a whim?
Think the point was last week they were really talking up Ratcliffe winning, suddenly that narrative has changed since Jassim 5th bidOr they don't know anything, like everyone else.
