Inheritance doesn't mean they should sell themselves short.

Would be lacking in self respect if they flogged it for less than they could.

Until SJR or SJ drop out then they are more than entitled to push for more.
Obviously sucking the blood out of the club that they never provided any positive value to until there's nothing left is the moral thing to do.

Based on recent news it’s clear Ratcliffe has given indication he’s prepared to up his offer in some way…

They wasn’t just patiently waiting just in case he might do so.

More waiting I think…

It’s actually fascinating reading the first page of this thread and seeing the elation when the news first broke. Well over 6 months ago.
The Glazer's and Raine have definitely manipulated both parties into bidding more. The line "talks ongoing with all parties" emphasises that. The Glazer's and their instrument Raine have got everyone on a string and they have intricately used the media as tool to send out ambiguous messages and then closed ranks again by saying nothing.

That line Raine used at the begininng "we aim for a sale during the first quarter". What a load of Shyte.

It needs a strong armed business mentality to deal with this lot and Jassim did do it (albeit belatedly) prior to his 5th bid, but he has now retreated again; "the deadline for acceptance is not this Friday". I think Jassim has fallen hook line and sinker. If he believes that Ineous are a "stalking horse" , then he should have been more decisive. The opening line he gave at the outset was that he did not want to be bidding against himself, well to an extent he possibly has.

Ratcliffe’s offer is already facing potential legal challenges from the A class shareholders. Upping his offer will only make that worse. I can’t see how he can win this.

After watching the entire interview, one can't help but wonder whether his article last week revealed anything substantially newsworthy at all. There are several times in the interview where he reiterates that nothing has happened in terms of the Glazers making any decision on exclusivity or anything similar, and that both parties are still in it, with Qatar viewed as slightly ahead of Ratcliffe at the moment.
Indeed, I suspected that last week as well. People were going nuts but as I understood it all the Reuters exclusive last week was saying was that Jassim was trying to enter exclusive negotiations.

Well of course he is, you'd assume that's what both he and Jim have been working towards for a few months now. I never really seen how it was some bombshell.

I wish Jassim would have a word with Jim and tell him that he's always going to beat his offer. So for the best future for his lifelong club Chelsea, sorry UTD he should pull out and he (Jassim) could spend more money on his (Jims) favourite club. Perhaps Jassim could throw a few season tickets in for free to sweeten the offer.

No impact on this window then.. it'll happen sometime before the Jan window if the Glazers can make a decision.

Dont really care.. just that the budget for this remains ~150m+ sales.. which is fine.

Kanye West, obviously mostly famous for being a director of Qatar films, is rocking the Manchester United Football Club logo. Its clearly done.

I suspect it never would have impacted this window in any meaningful way anyway. Unless it had been done in March or early April. But even then we still have to work within FFP.

Agreed, but the bids already way overvalue the club. If they do seek fresh bids and both parties say we’ll stick rather than twist another time, then they’ve just wasted everybody and the club an enormous amount of time and opportunity.

That's an old original 92/93 drill top, that must have been Jassims as a lad growing up. Must be a sneaky cryptic message by Jassim that the 92 foundation are going to be the new owners soon.

Indeed. The Telegraph reported the same at the time (ie that Ineos were also working towards the same). The giddiness in the aftermath of that Reuters report was clearly misplaced.

And everyone got shit for questioning Reuters. I don't think any of the British media were saying Reuters were lying just that what they were reporting didn't amount to much.

Actually, they’re losing a lot of interest on that £5-6bn. If they follow Martin Lewis's advice they could get upwards of 5% interest on it

It’s not upping his offer that’s the issue.

1. He has to prove that the money being used to buy the club is not a majority loan as leveraged buy outs are now banned from EPL!

2. He has to agree that whatever enterprise share value he agrees to the Glazers he will have to offer a fair trade price to the additional 31% shares. So unless he wants a major law suit backed by the NYSE he has to offer the owners of the other 50million shares at least $35-37 per share $1.65bn minimum does he have it as, he is as liquid as SJ. More loans , more potential debt for the club!

It’s quite clear the Glazers & Woodward have spent all the money and piled up debt.

Its also clear Ratcliffe cannot afford UTD and litigation will ensue if the Glazers sell to him which is why they are begging the Sheik to bid. Oil money is needed to get the club back on a firm footing.

UTD need a new stadium, major debt reduction and heavy investment in the squad. The clubs 1bn in debt with 300m outstanding on transfers. For the Glazers to demand 6bn tells me they don’t really want to sell. The lack of interest in the Club is also telling.

The greed of the Glazers will be there undoing & the Club will suffer.

What recent reports on Sit Jim? I don’t think I’ve seen anything with his name attached in like 2 or 3 weeks.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
"over the next few weeks or maybe months"

:nervous:

Full video here. In brief he says Sheikh Jassim is slightly more favourable but all options still on the table.

“Glazers might invite another round of bidding” :wenger::nervous::wenger:

fecking utter scumbags.

They’ve done literally ONE THING right since Fergie retired - hiring ETH, and they are right now out and out sabotaging him and his progress.

I’d honestly lock this now and divert all our attention on what they’re doing during this absolutely crucial transfer window for the club.

Reading these latest quotes, which sound very much like actual Glazer leaks, I think there’s a very good chance they’re just trying to get through the window doing as little as possible while trying to keep everyone’s attention on the bidders rather than on THEM.

At present, they own and run Manchester United.

They are responsible for this transfer window and they must be held to account for it.

He´s just waiting and smiling about how he´s gonna feck us supporters again with a new late bid that drags everything out for further weeks before SJ makes a new bid again and Jim understands he can´t win and forfeits. No new players in the summer = shitty season. Exactly what a "United supporter" like Jim wants.

Some Scientists theorize that time is actually circular not linear. So this takeover might take so long that he could actually be from the past.
That is interesting. His feelings towards this takeover remain the same past and present through.

For the love of fecking Christ will you shut the feck up?

There’s nobody on the entire internet who doesn’t know every detail of your feelings on the subject, if you want to keep banging on about it take it to the other thread will you.

You’re not even wrong about the subject but it’s just so fecking tiresome having to wade through pages and pages of the same repetitive bollocks whilst trying to see if anything is happening.

Even though it never is. But that’s besides the point.
@Wumminator is currently 25th on the most prominent spammer list. They're not trending upwards, and they're far from the most repetitive. Around 90 % of the people higher on the list are pro Qatar, interestingly.

A day is coming where elation will return, when we get breaking news that the Glazers are giving up control

Problem is nobody knows when the hell that will be.

If they said right now “ok it’ll take 2 months before a bid is accepted, but definitely no more than that” it would at least be something and an end point. We could switch off for a while

This Is awful because there seems to be no deadline and the Glazers don’t think the fans deserve to know anything
Yeah that would be ideal but they won't do it
