Here's hoping he uses some of his signing on fee to buy separate, secure, his and hers medicine cabinets.

Came across this suggestion from someone else on Twitter. Pretty funny so passing it on:

If #Man Utd fans do not use ‘Onana what’s my name’ for their chant, that would be an opportunity missed.

It really is quite catchy.

To the tune of Rihanna - whats my name:

O-NA-NA, thats his name!
O-NA-NA, kicks with aim
O-NA-NA, protects the frame
puts Kane to shame,
he's fecking insane

Finally a proper goalkeeper. Welcome Andre looking forward to watching you. One thing I think is a guarantee, it won't be dull .

Hopefully his wife will manage to hide all Lasix pills from him this time around.
His ban was caused by taking Lasix? How excatcly does it help your performance when you pee all tissue fluids out of your body? Genuine question, what's the reasoning behind that?

It will be nice having a goalkeeper who isn't glued to his line and doesn't feck up simple passes. I don't necessarily think he was the best goalkeeper we could have got but a decent signing nonetheless.

I read that Lasix can hide other PED use which is why it's banned.

Welcome to the club Onana! Delighted with this signing, very important to get the right profile of keeper in and the right character. He gives us good experience and the ability to play out from the back at a higher level, on top of that he is a big personality. Onana fits the bill perfectly and am looking forward to watching him play.

DDG most likely would. Overall he'll improve our playstyle.
Five years ago maybe. Last few years his errors, or at least just the shots he allowed in that you’d expect a top quality goalkeeper to stop, have more than evened out against the supposed wonder saves.

I may be overrating him or the signing but I think the knock on effect to the rest of the team will be massive.

Delighted with this. I don't often get sucked in to wanting player x or player y because I'm no scout, but I've wanted Onana for ages. He's looked mint every time I've seen him play.

I think now we should at least be able to make a decent title challenge like Arsenal last season. A few moments break our way and who knows, we might actually stay in the race till matchday 35 or more.

Don't want to judge a book by its cover but he looks a little crazy, like one of those eccentric keepers.
I hope we haven't signed Barthez the 2nd.

Kind of weird. Showing affection for the club you just left is fine and dandy bit above everyone and everything, even his current employers is a bit extreme.
I thought the same, but I reckon it's a bit of clumsy phrasing. He's been very happy there after all, so I'm sure he'll feel some pangs about leaving the club and the city.

I can't believe a grown man chose to wear [INSERT SHIRT NUMBER HERE] , he should be wearing [INSERT ANOTHER NUMBER HERE] instead.

He's going to be the catalyst for ETH to put his gameplan in place, exciting times. When you think of how at ease Man City looked against us with DDG compared to the relative unease against Inter / Onana a week later, this feels like a no-brainer. Growing pains are incoming but looking forward to football being the focus for the team. Now if only the Glazers could feck off posthaste

It's just a footballing tradition. You could dumb down a lot of things like that.

For example...

I can't believe an owner changed Cardiff's colours from [INSERT COLOUR HERE] to [INSERT ANOTHER COLOUR HERE].

Excited to see the different dynamic his ground game brings to the flow of the side as obviously DeGea was terrible there.....at the same time concern about how he handles the pressure of beig number one here and performs in terms of shot stopping, as ignore all the stattos on the site, may have been time for him to go but even the season just gone DeGea still made saves not many keepers do.

Supported the club over forty years now and only three keepers have excelled in the jersey.....some hugely talented keepers shrunk in it, especially just before and after Shmeichel, people forget that, its can be a poisoed chalice the pressure, similar to the strikers role here

Not really, one is something thats intrinsically linked to the identity of the club.

The other is just a number.

The number is intrinsically linked to the position. You're just deciding what should and shouldn't matter based on nothing but your own opinion.

Why is it a no go to change colours of a team but fine to change logos? Both are intrinsically linked to the identity of the club no?

They're massively different. People have been wearing different number shirts for years... Ederson wears the number 31 for example.

The time to debate the meaning of shirt numbers was 30 years ago... Now it's just numbers.

Anyone know what languages he speaks? Current back line and midfield are good with English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
I’m sure the football basics are easy to learn but if you want to really give it to a team-mate a bit more vocabulary is helpful.

Everyone speaks good English, Onana included.

What the defenders may be surprised to hear though is 'KEEPER'S/ANDRE'S BALL'. That one may shock them.

I think French is his main language but English is also an official language in Cameroon as far as I know.

The midfielders will be even more surprised in hearing "keeper's ball"
