haha....fuk off whining about the fee. I'll pay the extra 10m just to see him running his socks off and his work rate over that french donkey Martial and watching him walk around

Some of the amateur fecking accountants in here, feck me. Some people just have to have a moan about anything and everything. You don’t see Madrid fans whining why they spent x on a player they really wanted. They just celebrate getting them. Which is what we should be doing here. Why the obsession over the fee? The same should be expected of him whether we paid 55m or 75m.

The bottom line is that he was the managers top choice for a CF, and we’ve gotten the deal done at a price we could afford, and early in the window. In a position we DESPERATELY needed to strengthen. I don’t understand what’s not to like here.

Madrid dropped 80m on a bench player for the future last summer, as they forward plan, and their fans took it with typical big dick energy. Meanwhile we’ve got a gaggle of mewling quims, who get a better chubby from winning the bookkeeping DoF olympics, than actually building a good squad. The same harem of snivlepots who are still whining about how much Antony cost, or think jokes about “preparing a bid, or monitoring developments” are still funny.

This place is honestly such a depressing buzzkill most of the time. Shoot me for coming in excited we’ve signed a top talent, for a position we were desperately lacking in. I should’ve known I’d be walking into a nerdy, uninformed, nihilistic circle jerk.
Superb. I wish this place had 50 more of you, and 500 less of the mewling quims

This is just silly reasoning. Porto signed a better striker for €7m this very summer.
City signed Alvarez for peanuts too.

We are essentially betting that he is gonna be world class. These bets rarely end well.

Just caught up with todays news and thought I’d pop in here and join the party! Suppose I should have known better

Can’t say I’ve seen much more than YouTube vids of this guy but surely this transfer, at face value, should be really exciting? Young player, right profile, and even from YouTube you can see the potential, not only in him as a young player but him ripping it up with Rashford, Antony, Bruno and Mount. Even if he takes a little time finding his feet you can’t help but feel our potency will increase hugely with this guy up front. Dead exciting, can’t wait to see him play.

And if the add ons are achieved, which could very well be very easy, we’ll pay 73m…

So they spent all that time negotiating 4m down from a comically overpriced initial fee.

But then we already know the club is run by absolute feckwits who don’t demand excellence at every level.
feck me that is some truly depressing shit. Imagine being angry after signing one of the highest rated young strikers in the world. Speechless.

What is this fee!?

I wanted him here but this us way above what I thought we would pay for him. Seems like I forgot for a second we've got Saint Murtough in charge. I expect his defence force to come tell us how he is actually a genuis because we didn't pay the €100M demanded by Atalanta.

Bloody hell!
I'm fine with Murtough. Not on the Antony and the Hojlund deals though. The former I can understand as his hands were tied by the Glazers initially. But this one...

For those that never watched the guy and that are into more detail match compilations rather then just touches or even worse, just good touches....
Looks lively of the ball, no idea why he was subbed at HT but certainly with hindsight it didnt helped the team as they lost 2:0 second half. His runs are clever, was little on the ball but doesnt seem like a donkey(Lukaku/Morata) type so should be very dangerous once he fully develops physically.
Maybe because he couldn't win a duel to save his life in that clip? If anything the clip highlights one of the big issues he has.

Last season he scored 1 goal in 11 games against the European teams (top8) in the league, who's going to score against the tougher opponents for us?

You're right that it's the fee + wages, but at the same time is the aim not to actually get to a point where we can win things again? I also doubt Hojlund's wage will be as low as some think. I had this same thought when we signed Antony for that ridiculous fee last summer and I thought he'd be on £100k max, only to find out he's on £200k per week, coming off a £30k per week contract at Ajax. I doubt Hojlund will be on less than £120k. Kane would maybe have been £300k+ (though he's only on £200k at Spurs currently) but no way Osimhen would have been over £250k per week considering he's barely on over £100k per week currently. It's not like we'd have been paying either of them Ronaldo money. Sorry, but I don't buy any argument that Hojlund instead of Kane/Osimhen for £50-60m less is a good decision.
Agreed entirely. 100m on Kane with 400k wages is worth it.

No, no, no. If we'd got him for 10% less, absolutely. Or if Liverpool had tried to sign him.

But we've potentially overpaid mate, got to have an irrational agenda against him now and almost hope he fails to save internet face.

Or we could just stop gambling and sign established top class players like a big club should be doing?
I don’t think top clubs do sign many established players. Real Madrid sign the likes of Camavinga and Valverde and Liverpool sign Salah and Mane. They're either young players or players at Europa league level clubs.

Don't really get all these posters who don't understand why anyone would complain. If you simply don't think he's all that, that seems like a pretty good reason to me.

It's surely like you pronounce the u for Dan Burn. Not like Haaland.
Hey don't ask me how the Danes do their things. Surely you, as well as me, know by now not everything they do is logical. :wenger:

Spurs were not selling him to United for 100m.

And the outlay on wages was reportedly higher than that.

You guys need to move on from Kane. It was never happening.

Fee is ridiculous. But if we forget about that; i can't wait that season starts. Erik got 3 first 11 players who all will add something new and something better that we had last year. Add to that the fact that players who we bought last year are fully settled now and we have a very very good team.

80+ points this year should be bare minimum to expect.

Bet these sad whiners crying over the fee are already jerking off to the thought of him flopping here and missing a big chance so they can go on here and say "told you so!"

9 in 32 is hardly great. I was thinking someone might suggest he wasn't always starting, they were big, important goals etc.
Actual minutes he played add up to about 20 games, though, so 1 goal in 2. That's not bad.

We have quite a few Danes, including me, who have watched his Denmark games. And those are pretty much his best games.
I didn't judge Jude Bellinghams early career off watching him play ten times for England.

I’m not angry, I’m underwhelmed and concerned about Utd’s only 2 outfield signings this Summer.

When players are immediately divisive upon signing, you know there’s a strong element of risk with them.

I’ll be completely blunt - given where the squad is right now, I think blowing £120m on Mount and Højlund is fecking batshit and borderline idiotic, that’s what I honestly think.

Onana REALLY excites me and I think is a great transfer!

Watching the TV or is it watching me
The moaning is unbelievable.

Moan if he's old.
Moan if he's young.
Moan if he only has X amount of goals in X league.
Moan if nobody else was interested.
Moan if other teams are interested.
Moan if his fee is too high.
Moan if he fee is too low.
Moan if he doesn't make a fuss about moving.
Moan if he does make a fuss about moving.
Moan if he's tall.
Moan if he's short.
Moan if he likes his toast cremated.

etc.
etc.

Moan.
Sums it up

Great signing. So sick of going for the senile options up front.

I think people forget that this kid is not the finished article, despite his price tag. I'm looking forward to see him improve with us, and work with Benny, who's already worked wonders with Rashford.

Genuinely excited to watch him and I’d be more than willing to afford him time and patience. Regardless of the fee, it’s still a raw 20 year old with just his second season in a major league. We need to temper our expectations accordingly. But doubt many will. Hope he has a fast start.

Not sure if this is supposed to be sarcasm but I 100% think that's worth it for one of the best players in the world. Lewandowski and Benzema last season were on roughly that. I'd put Kane on a similar level. As mentioned, I doubt he'd demand more than £300k though.

So have most mate - it’s a huge signing, with massive ramifications for Utd good or bad.

Try not to obsess over me, I’m really not that interesting ;)
I am smashed, posted like 6 times.
Wont remember in the morning so it's a win-win

Stop making up random wages. He wants £575k per week. That coming from BBC.
