Still feel there should be some heading out sooner than him but otherwise, farewell Fred. Thanks for leaving everything out on the field, every time!

Hope that 10m euro plus 5m add ons is wrong. Shocking if true, should be getting more than that.

Fred was an enigma, one game at the etihad motm performance. Then 3 awful ones where he couldn't make 5 yard pass to a team mate, like he genuinely forgot how to play football.
Which is it?

I’ve enjoyed his stay with us. Even while not setting the world alight it was always a relief to see at least one person involved with this club actually smiling, even in the dark times.

On occasion a good little player too. £15m is a steal really. Good luck to him.

Will miss the mad bastard. I was always of the opinion that he was one of the best reserve CMs in the league. Happy to sit on the bench and he had a lot of quality for what he was, a squad player. Incredible engine and could put in some real 10/10 performances. But he was just as likely to put in a 3/10 performance, and that really summed him up.

Not delighted, like some, to see him go. But it’s definitely necessary as we rebuild the squad. Hope McTominay is next. Not as good as Fred. Just has age and HG status on his side. Will be happy to get a new midfielder in to fill the squad gap left by the two.

Feels like we should off got a bit more money for him.

On saying that, he's exactly the type of players who in the past 10 years we would have let run down their contract, whilst paying them well and losing for nothing.

All in all feels like a decent deal and glad to see we continue to shift fringe players on who aren't going to take us back to the top of the league

My thoughts too mate. Always liked the guy. Good luck Fred! (kind of wish he went to Fulham so I'd could see how fared there).

He was a likeable guy. He’d drop a 9/10 10 minutes and then be 3/10 for the next 40, and then somehow be back up to an 8/10 for the last 20 of a game, though.

I also think in spite of his insane stamina levels and ability to front press, he was just too small and easily bypassed in midfield. His stature simultaneously helped and held him back.

He’s probably the world’s best shit player I’ve ever seen. It’s actually a remarkable status to have.
Agreed. Good riddance I will miss nothing about Fred and am delighted I can now enjoy watching Utd more without him. Truly and utterly could not stand his lack of quality. How this was tolerated I'll never know and his **** beggars belief. Good luck Fenerbahce fans

I really liked him, he was one of the most bipolar players I've ever seen in terms of being good one week and shot the other but he seemed to always give his best and was a model pro.

Wish him well.

Travelled over from Ireland to watch my first United game last October v Newcastle at Old Trafford. From watching every United match at home you have preconceptions one of which I had was Fred was poor. That day he kept giving the ball away only to win it back to give it back again. A very likeable individual but not United standard. Hopefully he has a good career in Turkey. Ten Hag is not messing about this summer and it is great to see.

Was 15M Euros too much for Fulham? Weren't they linked to him? Seems like yes, he can have some bad games but overall he's a solid PL midfielder. I'm surprised no other top league team was in for him.

Really liked his endeavour even if one never knew which version would turn up.

If it happened to be "Super Fred", woe unto the opponents, regardless of their quality, someone was getting steamrolled. If it happened to be the "Reverse Fred", then woe unto us!

Will miss him

Apparently they were more worried about his wages than the fee.

I understand it but I think in a team slightly lower down the table he's of been a bit of a revelation.

Bit sad, would have liked to have seen him stay in England and play against him a few times a year. I'll miss him, never a long face and always put a shift in, and in a few years time I'll look back fondly on the complete chaos he peppered into the midfield.

One of most erratic players I’ve seen play for us, always tried just sometimes it was like he had forgotten how to pass the ball. On his day could be very influential and I think Fulham have missed out as would have been good for them.

It’s not a lot of money for him but given our FFP issues I think this is exactly sort of deal we have to do now.

I wonder if he simply wanted a move to Turkey and we've granted him his wish out of respect. I'm sure we received offers for him from elsewhere.

It was really up and down with Fred. Sometimes he was fantastic and other timer he have the ball away time after time.

With Fred gone, I think we need to keep McTominay for at least 1 more season. We've only got Mount into central midfield (and he's far from my favourite, by the way). It will be too uncertain with only Eriksen, Casemiro, Mount and Mainoo.

Wish him all the best. A very strange player, you could genuinely tell if he was going to be brilliant or horrendous in a game by his first interaction. Some games he was a beast, some games it was like he was playing for the opposition.

Fulham were ready to match the transfer fee but were unwilling to pay the wages the player wanted according to Sky Sports.

His fans confuse me. He can’t even speak good English. How does anyone feel connected to a player who is average on the pitch and can’t communicate / engage well off the pitch?

Really like Fred but 15m euros is also decent fee given that his contract was to expire next summer. Good deal for us and a big step towards signing Amrabat you'd think.
