Going to Pool confirmed then.

They need to make a swift midfield signing to deviate from the Caicedo and Lavia debacle.

Really getting the sense that this season is coming off the rails already. A fecking disaster not getting this deal done.

He wants to move and even if we're his preference if we don't have the money, it's just another Gakpo situation.

Also looks more and more like we weren't really after him as a first choice. Wouldn't surprise me if we go after a different CM.

Aye. There’s reports saying we agreed personal terms with him a month ago, yet here we are still fecking about trying to get rid of Donny Van de Beek.
And would that even give us funds to sign him? Have to assume we wouldn’t be getting much for him and might even leave on loan. Hard to believe that deal is difference between us signing Amrabat given reported fee.

If Fred had sold at 20-15 and vdB at 8 we would almost be there of the oft-quoted Amrabat valuation was correct.
I do agree this was slightly optimistic presumptions.

So this is the part where suddenly Amrabat is the best midfielder in the world? I wouldn't lose any sleep over this at all. Plenty more fish in the sea.

Not too bothered tbh, think he's overrated by many in here tbh.
It might annoy some people when they find out how good he is by watching him play for Liv. But isn’t it true that we have the perfect “back up” players in McT and Donny?

Ah, that's a good call. Nearly a month ago, too.

Lottery numbers, please. Not for me - for our club.
First with Kim Min Jae and now this one .. i genuinely feel our transfer business is relatively easy to predict.

We are at a point where unless Maguire or McTominay leave, we won't sign anyone. No need to squad number wise. And we aren't a team that stockpiles players like Chelsea, and simply don't have the money for more.

Now I thought we would've gotten amrabat and Todibo or pavard not long ago, when west ham bid 60m for the two. Don't really get why the club passed on the chance to effectively swap our 2 guys for those 2 who Ten Hag would want more. Probably difficulties with the players leaving too as we see with Maguire. I'd say we are pretty much done unless there is a surprise sale.

Liverpool potentially being interested means even if we go in, we are not getting this done below 35M now.

The likeliest scenario now is Liverpool put a bid for him quickly and get him, and we dont since we didnt "get enough funds from sales".

I just think so much of our business was dependent on Mctominay, Elanga and Henderson being sold for decent fees. That would have massively improved our FFP outlook.

Just don’t see how DVB leaving will be difference between us signing anyone, especially when Amrabat is supposedly available for about 25m.

This one was always dependent on us selling McTominay anyway, which is looking unlikely now due to our incompetence at selling players.

Pretty much a banker that he'll end up at Liverpool and we will sign no one.

All things considered we're some an even bigger disaster zone than last year.

Oh please you can’t force players to move & we’ve sold a fair amount this summer too.
