Analysis is so deep and hyper now it's easy to forget that it's ok for a footballer to have a weakness. In fact its pretty much the norm except for a small handful.

Can imagine if Cantona was here now he'd statistically be ripped apart. Never scored more than 15 leage goals(and he was a pen taker), what percentile for progressive carries blah blah.

And the biggest opinion shaper of all is winning games. If a teams succesful players don't get forensically pulled apart, their shortfalls are glazed over. But in a struggling team it's all we've got to focus on.

Christ all these percentiles, seems to be the most stat observed player out there, like do we watch footballers through a computer spreadsheet or with our own eyes?

I am very much in the middle with him. He is the one player who seems to constantly press and chase the ball down, look for the killer pass, progress the ball quickly, commincate with others on the pitch, look for space....so there are a lot of positivs with him.

At the same time though, even more the last year or so, he can be frustrating. His communicataion can look very negative as if he is lookign down on team mates, there is a lot of whinging and falling to the ground too easily recently, he does give the ball away or misplace passes or try the harder pass when there are simpler ones on, he has had long spells where he has been poor too.

He is a good player who can be world class at times, but he isnt and hasnt been world class over his career too and its only the last 6months or so it seems opinions been a bit less over the top and he has stopped living off the first 6months here.

There are obviously a plethora of problems within our side at the moment and ins and outs still needed, he is obviously not one of them, but neither is he the leader and saviour to build around I feel, just like Pogba wasnt and considering his age, being at his peak and all the work he puts in without rest, we should be planning for the future in that position

Bruno is proven to work well with another playmaker in Bernardo Silva.

But then.., it's Bernardo Silva.

Thats because nowadays football has been reduced to merely about stats. everything is about numbers, numbers, and numbers, we create more and more meaningless stats, it's trully hillarious really to see these nutjobs we called football supporters acting like MATHEMATICAN NERDS!

can't post media, not even as a quote; it's the twitter with Portugal - Luxemburg stats
What exactly means " Big chances created"? Why only 2, when he assisted 3 times?

He could, for example, pass to someone on the half way line and that players goes around the whole team and scores from 30 yards. In this case, Bruno gets the assist, but didn’t create a goalscoring chance (the scorer did that themselves). Do you see what I mean?

It could also be that all 3 assists were like this, and the 2 chances he created were missed by the striker.

Bruno scores winner for United: That's his job

Bruno with 3 assists and a goal Vs Luxembourg: Yeah it's Luxembourg

United lose a game: We will never win anything with Bruno Fernandes, aside from the trophy we did win

That is a pretty wild statistic anyway you slice it.
Sample size, he will be at top right anyways, in any season.

He's got 0.25 more expected assists per 90 than Pascal Groß which is what matters on here
0.25 expected assists per 90 mins is not a small number, just FYI.

For example, Odegaard never recorded 0.25 xA per 90 mins in top 5 leagues.

You’re shooting straight to the top of the most tiresome twats on redcafe top ten list. Which is impressive for someone so new to the place. You’d be even more of an outlier than Bruno if the axes were “boring” vs “repetitive”.

You got so much anger and rage built in you towards posters that aren't fond of Bruno. Relax, old man.

I actually didn't know how good Bruno was until he dominated Luxembourg in European qualifier.

Have people really come into this thread to carry on moaning about Bruno after that performance last night?!!

What's the guy got to do?  An absolute 10/10 performance, absolutely ran the show, but it doesn't count because it's against Luxembourg or something.... baffling.

Can win even when you do win.

Win 3-0, it's Luxembourg, should be hammering them.

Win by 5,6,7,8,9, it's only Luxembourg, they're shite.

Believe me, I’m completely relaxed. And not even a tiny bit angry. I said you were boring. That’s not an emotion that makes people angry.
It doesn't seem like you are when you're getting personal like that. I don't share your opinion on Bruno, so I'm a tiresome twat. Why don't you put me on ignore if you feel that way?

Which is why it is important to watch matches rather than just judge the player on stats. Of his three assists were, two were from pinpoint crosses which were headed in and the third was a peach of a ball over the top for jota. He was on fire yesterday.
