Listen Maguire not nearly a bad a player as most would have you believe but right now his confidence is shot and he needs to go and play and get his confidence back but watching that game today Lewis Dunk is twice the CB is on current form and should be Stones partner when he returns.

Earning £200k a week, is crap at football but thinks he's the bollocks, had an offer to move to another club more his level but held out for a stupid amount more money knowing he'd be a benchwarmer here. The bloke is a disgrace
Know all the shite stuff and of course he’s not worth the wages and Utd should never have paid ridiculous money for him, but he can‘t seem to catch a break.

Whatever, Utd had best get used to it because he’s going nowhere for the foreseeable

He'll regret the decision not to move. Here he simply isn't going to get enough game time to shake off the absolute clown reputation he has.

Then she sucks on my balls
He wanted £10m to leave
He's worth every penny can't have a go at him for that England starter can play a few games for united and off the bench in an injury crisis whilst getting turned inside out, outpaced and maybe spray a few good long balls and delayed telegraphed side passes whilst putting his arms in the air pointing to where the player should pass to making it look like he's important and slowing us down as usual then as we concede mop his parting to one side and look like a gormless cnut.

He is every bit as bad. Terrible passer who takes an age on the ball, turning circle of an oil tanker, slow as shit and for some reason thinks he's some sort of proactive defender despite having none of the attributes. Maguire is the only one who doesn't realise how bad he is. Confidence can be used as an excuse for a few games but not for 2-3 years of crap. West Ham is his style and level but he refuses to understand that.

He must be masochist to keep putting himself though this much criticism and humiliation. Every mistake he makes is highlighted tenfold.

Like others have said, he should of jumped at the chance to move to West Ham just to get himself out of the limelight and get some regular football.

It not nice to watch his every touch jeered and opposition fans singing him onto the pitch.

He will never get it back playing for us. He really made a poor decision not to sign for other club, West Ham was really good option for him.

Now today pisses me off. I understood why Gareth picked Harry against Ukraine. As he said, with Stones and Mings out, he had no senior/experienced players so he picked Maguire. But today, when Guehi comes off, it should be Colwill coming in. How do players gain experience if they aren't given minutes. I haven't seen the own goal, but I"m hearing it was unlucky. Either way, doesn't change the fact that he shouldn't even be on the field...

The fact Southgate calls and plays him as a starter for England despite becoming a bench option for close to a year now at his club says it all about how England national team is being run. No point for other players to even try as the guy has his favorites regardless of form and play time.

I have zero sympathy with him. Hope he rots on the bench for rest of the season.

Good chance for the media to blame United for destroying Southgate's prime defender.

Even England will move on from him soon, maybe he’ll be bit more open to moving in January.

A handful of people have been saying this for the last 3 years. I think it’s time to admit he’s shit.

Don't think I've ever known a player receive this kind of abuse for such a sustained period. Must be absolutely brutal for his mental health.
Feck his mental health. If he cared about his mental health, he would have moved. He'll happily collect millions for being a weekly meme. He's bringing it on himself.

The own goal might be unlucky but stuff like just keeps happening to him. He could be unlucky a few times but the amount of times something 'unlucky' does happen to him makes you wonder if he just always a step too late and causing that 'unlucky' moment himself. I think that is the case. He is just too slow. Too slow when attempting to run/sprint/turn but also too slow recognising a potential dangerous situation and anticipating correctly.

I've heard of stealing a living, this guys stealing a career.
Hardly, when the England manager is going out of his way to justify Maguire's position against all logic then it isn't really Harry that's doing the stealing. It's all Southgate doing the undeserved giving.

Nah, De Gea regressed and didn't fit what was needed, but he would produce saves too. It was not a constant feed of shite from him like it seems to be for Maguire. While I think Maguire is harshly treated, it is curious why things keep happening to him. I guess it is just being promoted beyond his skill level, where the problems are amplified and exposed.

Don’t like him as a player or as he comes across as a person in interviews.

Just a calamitous oaf on the pitch. Can’t wait to see the back of him.

Maybe he thinks that with more club playing time, he'll expose himself more and actually prevent himself from being selected. Harry was wise to stay.

"He became the biggest threat at the centre of the Manchester United defence, tackling Manchester players and giving assists to opponents. Mr Speaker, when you see the opponents go to score, Maguire will score for them."

He is living up to the meme

He had a chance to move and play regularly/regain some form at Weat Ham so I have little sympathy for him
