We'll be bottom of the league before too long, the club is rudderless, no leadership, no structure, no vision, no values, it's a commercial club dressed up as a football commodity, and it all stems from the top.

I don't know if you know the answer to this, but could the Glazers sell some or all of the 43 acres of land around OT and make a bin load of money, and stay on indefinitely?
They could but the real money is in Developing on the land with shops, hotel’s restaurants, a world class indoor arena the club loses a considerable amount of value if they sell the land and would not get the £500-600m they would need.

Todays poor result, another in a failed regime actually has a silver lining. If united finish outside of the PL positions for European football next season this will have a huge ramification on finances dropping revenue by £100-150m plus they will lose ranking points they will need to be considered for the lucrative World club cup in 2025 with Chelsea and City already guaranteed qualification. Add that to the FSP rule of 70% in 2025/26 and the club genuinely could be looking at bankruptcy under The Glazers or at best strict FFP sanctions if they don’t sell ?

You heard it here first but my guess is they were planning to say one more season and see what that could squeeze out of the bidders but if ETH has say, lost 7 or 8 games out of the first 13 to 14, he’ll be sacked without hesitation. They will want to give a new manager 24 games to try and make Europa League, it’s that serious !

We need Qatar. We need a sugar daddy with the inflated sponsorship deals because of the mess we've created. There's no money left to spend in the current state.

Plus the Qatari's won't be so easily influenced by our fanbase's desire for self-destruction.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but letting go some of the big earners ie Ronaldo and De Gea, trying to get rid of Maguire and now Sancho tells me there's some cost cutting going on, if that's the case then a sale is inevitable.

Nothing changes until the top changes. Simple as that!
This is the absolute reality, sadly. It's also why the Glazers will push ETH out if the sale looks unlikely / is off, as it will for sure give them another smokescreen.

Bollocks
Cr7 was past it
De gea a lot of people in here wanted rid
And the other two are shite

add to that we’ve spent a fortune in transfers

the problem with the glaziers is they don’t understand football, and have appointed the wrong people in charge

It's got to change at the top. As others have pointed out, until the Glazers have gone it'll be wash, rinse, repeat.

Indeed, and how long have they been here? You'd have thought that, by now, they'd have a good working knowledge of the game. Just goes to show they've never given a toss and are just in it for the money.

He'll still worm his way out of this when 2 weeks go by and nothing progresses, but I like that he's at least going for such short timelines and not stringing us along with this particular iteration for months on end....

Wish it was possible to fall out of love with your football club and dump them like an ex- partner. Now I just feel like I’m in a toxic relationship that I need to get out of but can’t walk away from due to having invest 40yrs of myself into. Football, eh? On the plus side, at least my club has two massive tits. Joel and Avram

I thought the Jim story might have been from a panicked party hearing bad news but we need to end this either way. Fat man has nailed his colours to the mast

If mine, and many many other of yours, mental health was not so connected to Manchester United being good at the pitch i would almost hope for us to turn to complete shit for many years without the greedy bastards being able to sell us just for them to get nothing out of it when it happens at last.

But those "massive tits" are useful to us as they would be to a fish.

I think we are just taking the easy way out and resorting to blaming the owners for things Arnold and Murtough should be handling. The only they are to blame for is not holding their executives to account but last summer after Arnold's pub PR spoof he looked like he knew that Woodward had dropped the ball massively and would do things differently but then proceeds to handover all the keys to ETH whose previous employers didn't let him anyway near recruitment.

Custis has been adamant for a month or so that the deal is close. Let’s see.

Like a heroin addict believing his girlfriend will be back with the gear even though she's been missing for 6 weeks, I'm going to just believe it anyway because I have nothing else. Welcome Jassim. Make me jizzum.

Maybe but he's been saying that for a while.

Still, I am sceptical, especially because Romano came out with some bullshit about us buying a big new defender in 2024. All part of the usual propaganda.

Plausible cause the worse this season gets, the less likely it is that the Glazers get their ridiculous valuation. They already ain’t getting CL football next season.

Surely just aggregate accounts bringing this up because Custis said it’d be done in October? No mention of it anywhere.

I would be very interesting if we got took over, just to see the performances by the current lot. If we have competent owners, you see the difference in the players desperate not to get sold. Happens all the time.

The quote is from his article back in August where he claimed that Qatar would take over united by mid October.

They have taken that as two weeks into October or mid October.

It’s not a new article.

Total click bate, however the last quarters finances of the 22/23 season are supposed to be released on Monday I believe, so we might start hearing something concrete concerning the takeover next week.

There must be some dialogue going on with SJ/92 and The Raine Group with the Qatari group saying we wanted to buy a champions league club and this current team will not even be playing in Europe, so we need a decision quickly or we move on to other options, and that would leave INEOS to pick up the slack.

If they really are in very advanced talks and doing due diligence, they will want the opportunity to attack the winter transfer window to at least try and get European Football next summer whether it’s Conference or Europa League.

We sold £48m worth of players with £40m being homegrown players which would have increased our transfer budget potentially to £200m giving us about £325m to £350m overall. We spent £185m so without further sales the club if it had the money could potentially spend £165m in January before other exits.

If we sell Jadon Sancho, Harry Maguire and Scott Mctominay for £100m which won’t be easy let’s say £80m, selling Scott for £25m will give us another £125m as he counts as HG added to the budget providing the club has paid off its existing £800m debt.

INEOS will be spending no more than £100m in January I can assure of that however if SJ actually did win the bid, they could potentially providing they invest money to clear the debt, have a £250-280m transfer budget in a January window.

They would be allowed under FFP providing they sold those three players.

I can assure you of one thing the Qatari consortium led by SJ would have done their due diligence not only on the clubs finances but also the playing squad and the Directors/Team manager running the club and will have their own list of targets. ETH will be told to manage the players they buy and if he can’t produce a wining side he’ll be dismissed and they will go recruit either Xavi, Zidane or De Zerbie, they simply won’t care.

The poorer the performances become on the pitch, the more likely the Qatari consortium planning an assault on the transfer market to hit he ground running.

They won’t go for maybe players, they will have a list of sure things in all positions sone experienced, some younger.

GK - Jan Oblak
RB - J Frimpong
LB - T Hernandez
CB - A Silva
CM/10 -N Barella, L Lucas
RW - A Griezmann, L Sane, F Chiesa
LW - R Laeo S Gnabry
Striker - V Osimhen or I Toney + M Leornado

They may even sell Rashford to PSG for £100m and let Martial go to Barcelona I’m. Not saying they will get all of that list but they will try and make 3 or 4 marquee signings in the key areas that the team has genuine fragility.

Whilst I don't believe the article, why do people always say this? What on earth have the club got to gain by 'briefing this news to appease the fans after a loss'? It's weird. The club aren't allowed to say anything on the matter either way.

I think United Stand have played themselves. They’ve just blindly copied a tweet by a couple of random Twitter accounts that have cited Neil Custis. But on Custis’ Twitter there is no tweet or link to any article.
