Find it ridiculous people come on here after a win and a good performance, to slate a player who didn’t even play in his performance thread.
Makes sense when many of those people realize what they were missing having to watch McTominay in the midfield when an 18 year old can come on and demand the ball and play like an actual United midfielder on a fecking debut

We turned down 30 million british pounds for this guy in the summer by the way, we'll be lucky to get half of that in January or the Summer.

Bear in mind, it was reported to be a "double offer" of 60mil for both McT and Maguire. Then West Ham came back in for Maguire individually.

Is that because the club knew McTominay had / has no desire to leave and didnt want to skupper the Maguire deal? We know McTominay turned down Fulham.

I agree though. We would be lucky to get 30mil for him in Jan, but you never know what positions other clubs may be in.

If you want to talk about overall, then maybe you're right and maybe you aren't. But I don't judge players based on previous matches. I was judging him on this match. And on this match, he was ok. But again, thanks for proving my point
He wasn't ok. He was below average.

All opinions matter and I respect yours. But in my opinion McTominey, against Burnley was a passenger who didnt influence the game or work hard enough.

He won't get a look in when Mount, Amrabat are fit. Mainoo and Gore would probably be ahead of him moving forward. Hannibal has gone above him also.

110% McTominey is not part of our long term plans and is surplus to requirements. Needs to be sold

Yep. Scott wishes he covered the pitch as much as Hannibal
Maybe this is a kick up the ass he needs? Seeing some youngsters come in and show him up.

Don't think he's talented another anyway, but effort might be there going forwards if so.

Then your "opinion" is flat out wrong. If you said he was a passenger against Brighton I would completely agree. He barely touched the ball. He went from having 22 touches, 0 tackles and 1 interception against Brighton to having 47 touches, 2 tackles and 2 interceptions against Burnley. Again, I'm not saying he was great. But he wasn't the passenger that you are making him out to be. In fact, Cassemiro was 52, 2 and 2 in that game. So only 5 more touches. Again, nobody was great, but they weren't bad either. They all did a job as a team to get the 3 points. But some people see what they want to see and then try and claim there's no agenda

An opinion cannot be wrong.

You have yours, I have mine. Simple as that.

I saw what i saw. McTominey was garbage. Other's were too but we are specifically talking about McTominey. He was poor on the ball, poor off it, didnt work hard enough, lost duals, gave up possession cheaply and offered very little to the team.

Like i've said, McTominey is not blessed with amazing footballing abilities, his biggest attribute's were his work rate and desire. He seems to have lost that now, which basically makes him a midfielder who doesn't want the ball, unable to use the ball and has little to no work rate. Hence he is a passenger in the middle of the park. He is a central midfielder who cannot use the ball

So if I told you that in my opinion the sky is orange you'd just "agree to disagree" about my "opinion". Yes, opinions can be wrong. Case in point

now that Mount and Amrabat are fit and Mejbri is available I hope he nevers plays for United again
That's going well.
While it was convenient for some to pin much of the blame on McTominay for the teams poor performances, it's obvious now as it was then that the problem was more than that.
The recruitment has been poor and McTominay is obviously not in ETH's plans.
This has to be impacting his performances. He has to be allowed to go if he is not going to be played. There are players putting in terrible performances week in week out who remain in the team regardless.

Yeah and when he was playing he was one of them putting in terrible performances. I agree the problem is far more than him but if we are ever to try and improve he can’t be starting I. The centre of midfield every week.

The same can be said of most of the current team.
None of the current starting xi could get into City, Arsenal or Liverpool's team.

I've been super critical of McTominay in the past but well done today. Great sub impact.

Knighthood

All jokes aside, get him as a box to box 8 like Arteta used Xhaka. He has an eye for goal and the energy to get up and down the pitch. Good on you, Scott!

Its about time he actually did something. Only player that actually kept his shot on target and didn't hit it straight at the goalkeeper

I can't stop laughing. This guy is hilarious. Why was he ever converted to midfielder?! He's like the Scottish Haaland as a lethal striker.

Fair play when it's deserved!

What an ending took the two goals brilliantly

Often maligned and rightly so. But today let's be thankful and grateful for his moment.

Well played sir!
