Too bad then, because that's what we needed. A quality 8, not a squad player with no defined position on the pitch. And he hasn't even been playing that bad, certainly no worse than Bruno Fernandes, but is already benched? Sure, whatever.

Entirely the wrong player to buy. But that's what happens when you have a clueless DoF.

He's desperately trying to play Bruno and Rashford into form.
    Hopefully tonight is the night.

Rewarding McTom with a start is fine considering his recent contribution, but he is offering those goals as a ACM/CF.

Case of too many chefs in and around the box for my liking.

Is Mount still injured or has ETH realized that playing Bruno and Mount together in midfield is a waste of time?

    Pathetic attitude to have.

Long term it's better to win and get through the group to the knockout stages.
No it’s not. I love the club but if we keep bringing in CL money every other year, it keeps the glazers around.

But some of you don’t want to accept that. The CL is crap these days anyway.

Mount not starting two matches because of fitness and haters immediately start moaning how "he already gave up on his new signing". You can't make this bollocks up. :wenger::lol:

Going for a 2-0 tonight. Højlund and Rashford. Might even be another Højlund brace tonight with a 3-0 win.

Hopefully. Will wake the Glazers up and make them actually consider a sale next time.

Too many of our fans want the short term endorphin hit of a ‘top 4’ trophy finish. It never helps Utd.

Hopefully we lose tonight and that’s that. We need to think about the long term now, not these short lived, pointless European adventures.
Go away, dreadful attitude to have, never ever wants to lose and neither should any fan. Pathetic post

yeah, because they really are our big problem.

    The fans of this club.....
How you managed to watch all our games this season and not see that Bruno and Rashford are in the worst forms of their career is beyond me. Well, maybe not for Rashford - he has patches like this for the majority of most seasons.

They'll start unless injured. He's not dropping them as he knows that they're about 80% of our threat, even in current form. He relies on individuals to figure out how to break down teams and they're the two most individualistic players we have.
They are 80% of the threat against us as they keep handing the ball to the opposition.

Love how the clown 'fans' are convinced its awful cool to combine these names in some contrived insult. Rashford, Bruno, mumble. Dog doo.

McT has scored 3 goals in about 65 mins for Ten Hag. You can have your issues with him, but it is not insane that he is starting.

However I hope he plays deeper than at the weekend, no need to vacate the midfield so early.

Rashford should have a good time against Ankersen. He's 33 and largely offensively minded.

They are though. I would love to know what you have been watching all season.
I've been watching United. Closely. And if you think that, you're deluded. There's a difference between not being as good as you can be, and being shit. They have not bern that.

I really do not like Amrabat and McT in the same midfield. Eriksen should be playing instead of Amrabat. We play much better with Eriksen, because he creates chances, does rarely lose the ball, is creative.

Copenhagen is in one of the stronger line-ups. They have a right back, Jelert, on the left back, which is a bit strange, because they have fine left footed left backs on the bench.
Drop Amrabat while starting McTominay?

It's good to see Reguilon and Varane back. Maguire also played well. So, between the lot of them and Amrabat they should be able to hold the line.

Whether the forwards will do their jobs is another matter. Rashford - Bruno - Antony. A joy to witness, truly. And Mount is already getting dropped? Wasn't he the priority midfielder who was going to change everything?
The worst part about Mount getting dropped is he was arguably our best player over the 3 games before he got dropped. It doesn't make any sense.. Meanwhile Bruno and Rashford are immune from the bench, regardless of performance. Also, apparently Mctominay scoring 2 goals in a couple of minutes makes up for the other 99% of his minutes where he was overwhelmingly shit.

Still not bad. And still better than the other options we have.

Worried that McT will do a disappearing act, hopefully Eriksen against his countrymen will come on and shine.

On the contrary, by all metrics - they have been very, very bad. Garnacho has looked much better than Rashford when he's played. He was good the last time he started too. Mount has also looked much better than Bruno.

They're both more physical rather than technically good. I can't call them attacking players, they're definitely in to try and help shore up. He's seemingly given up on his original idea from when he bought Mount and played one holding midfielder. He's gone back to square one basics.
McTominay is an attacker in this setup. Don't think he can be even called a midfielder with such limited on the ball contributions, and all he does well is basically striking a ball. Fair enough if we've given up on playing any decent football because he can give us goals in return.

Mount being able to make the team is a real bad sign. Not sure why Erik wanted him so bad.

Also not a fan of Erik just sticking with his underperforming favorites either

I don't know what Rashford or Antony needs to do to be dropped? They is not good enough right now to play in the first 11. Garnacho should play. I would even play Martial there. Or Evans for that matter. Rashford and Antony should be benched.

A defeat tonight would be problematic, to put it mildly. Happily, I’m confident we’ll scrape the win.

Yes. I don’t think EtH expects much from McT except to put himself about and win headers. I believe he is there because he is scoring goals at the moment and we look almost incapable of scoring sometimes.

McTominay is the only midfielder player we have that is doing something productive. Should start every game.

whilst the CL is probably at it's weakest/least prestigious point - it remains the premier cup competition and we should be trying to go as far as possible.
