The other thread had no recent posts in it? Maybe Noodle was right in that a lot of posts are just performative....
Or there’s only so many times people can say the same thing over and over.

If there was no mod threat in here I suspect you would see much much more, and probably still no activity in the other thread.... Anyway let's let it go. It doesn't matter

It's unlikely imo. He reportedly wants to stay there permanently but I'd doubt if Getafe would have the money unless we decide to sell cheap.

Then it's hard to tell what would be the decision from the new DOF and Sir Jim.
Jim is a businessman as everyone points out so....

Anyway, he's looking like he will likely get back to and surpass where he left off a while back. If he keeps his head down (and we get some more clarity on the past and his current relationship later this season) then I predict a lot of people changing their opinion - obviously not all though
He'll be back here in the summer once the ownership situation is sorted and we have a competent management structure in place. If he puts the numbers up in Spain I have no doubt about it.

I'm not sure how he will do long term though. He's had a good start in Spain but good as that goal was its exactly the kind of strike that was beginning to get sussed out in England. Ive watched a few of his highlights and hes been focusing on the basics and getting back into the game which is fair enough, but we need to see more than the cutting in from the right to shoot and he should have been learning all that over the last two years.

I have no idea what he's like but if so I'd say 50/50. He'll have to consider the brand and commercial stuffs I think. Then our transfer budget and FFP.

If he's football man then imo 99 % yes. It's bloody obvious we desperately need more goals and the lad is quite good at getting that.

Taking a thread off topic
He’ll be back.

He’s too good not to play for United again imo. Whether morally it’s the right or wrong thing people can debate all day, but Greenwood fully fit is a £100m+ player

He's quickly answered any doubts about fitness and mental state

after 18 months out it certainly wasn't a given that he would ever get back to what he was, I didn't expect it this quickly anyway

There was always that question mark over whether he was better wide or central, I think he's been playing wide left and right for Getafe
1 goal doesn’t equate being back to top level. Let’s see him get more 90 mins under his belt and see how consistent he gets. That’s the important thing for his career.
Even Antony has scored similar goals at PL level and we don’t like him so let’s be consistent

It's also about the quality of the finish. Do we have anyone in our squad who could do that once in a while, talk less of Greenwood who has demonstrated the ability to do it repeatedly? Create space for him and he'll execute that move more often than not.
Also, remember that he's currently playing foe Getafe who are hardly a free flowing football team. I've watched some of their games and they usually struggle to get the ball into the final third and maintain possession there. He's currently doing great all things considered.
You’re talking like Antony hasn’t put ones in the top corner a few times.

Fair but different types of goal. Anthony finesses it and Greenwood smashed it out of nowhere. I get your general point about not getting carried away thou...

1 worldie but it's 7 G+A for Greenwood so far (Antony for comparison got 12 the whole of last season and he's been even worse this season)

and thats in a new country after 18 months out the game - you surely have to admit that it's an impressive return so quickly

It is but let’s keep it in context

one is PL level and one isn’t

the important thing for MG is as I say as many minutes as possible - he hadn’t been on a pitch for almost 2 years, then performance and consistency

Also, he is playing for Getafe which is impressive for that stats. He should also be getting more assists.

There’s maybe 6 teams of good to extremely good standard. I honestly think the rest are akin to the championship
They're actually quite good there. They're not cash rich like the PL clubs and the players there are probably not as physically strong/fast as the PL players but the overall quality is at the same level imo.

I used to watch La Liga when it's free in my country a couple years ago. No idea now though but I don't think they could turn to championship level in just a couple of years. Gironna are currently at the top of the table while Madrid have the likes of Bellingham, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Vavelrde, Camavinga, Courtois etc. tells quite a lot imo.

Well exactly - I barely expected him to even be a regular starter by now after 18months out and moving to a new country

but after a few sub appearances he's now starting every game and hit 7 G+A in just 8 starts and 3 sub appearances

You have to be pretty blinkered not to admit it's an impressive start

And if La Liga isn't PL level (I think it is) then at very worst it's the 2nd best league in the world

Let’s inject some realism guys
Realistically he is performing better than any of our other RW options and has 7 goal contributions in 10 games after 18 months out.

I’m not quite sure what you’re getting at, he’s not putting up Ronaldo numbers in Spain so meh? If we’re being real on football ability alone a player of his ability would walk into our team & improve it, is he the second coming of Pele? No but we’re hardly the second coming of United 2013.

Elanga has 3 goals 3 assists in a far tougher league (and without the baggage) in a poor side. We should bring him back.

Ironically we often say that, and then get turned over by them when we meet in Europe...

Unbelievable that people are belittling La Liga now because Greenwood is doing well there. Martial done worse there and still playing for us.

Let's give credits where it's due, he is doing great in La Liga considering he was out for 18 months.

It'd be interesting if his performances for Getafe prompt Madrid, Barca or perhaps Atletico to make a bid. Think he'd suit any of those teams.

I mean if you look at the likes of Luton, Sheff Utd, Bournemouth, Burnley etc then I’m pretty sure the bottom teams in La Liga would fancy their chances against them

That was a very Mason finish wasn't it.

Purely in a football sense he is a wonderful talent.

Full performance:

His touch, vision, weight of pass, link up play and shooting was all elite level in this performance! He’s going to end up at one of the best teams in the world and I would guess it’d be Madrid or Barcelona. The interesting thing will be how much money we can get for him or if we get mugged off

The day he comes back to old Trafford and scores against us, will sicken me.
I hope he celebrates wildly when he scores against us.

You might

He would, but how do they deal with a certain recording. Can't expect media commentary to turn a blind eye, either.

His England career is dead.

Honestly stating this as he will struggle to secure a serious move to a major club without it cropping up again, as it should.
