MEN banned from the press conference today | Some journalists banned for running articles without approaching United for comment first

Yep. I'm absolutely fine with ripping "the people in front of me" a new one like SAF did in that clip, but preventing the press to join a press conference just isn't right. What do you expect happens? They'll just write angry stuff and you open up the new angle that you aren't dealing with the press in the right way.
Fergie banned Journalists all the time when they misbehaved.

Good!
The only information they should get is via the manager or the press office, end of, no excuses.
Not good at all. That's not journalism. And even us, supporters, shouldn't want that. We should want inside information, even if it's not comfortable to read.

Worthless response from MEN since they know they cant divulge their source(s).

The relevance of their reporting is entirely dependent on who is feeding them. If it's a cast off like Sancho, then it's just enabling someone with a known grievance to damage the club and their team mates anonymously. Nobody benefits from that but Sancho.

Lot of shit stirring by MEN, but this takes the cake.

By banning journalists from press conferences, United are effectively showing contempt for supporters, for we ask questions on their behalf.

Tells me that the answer is more simple than we are making out - ten hag hasn't been able to get the best out of this group of players, including many that he picked himself. In most games this season we have had by far the better personnel and the worse performance.

We saw some attitude problems Vs Newcastle no question. But most likely this is the tide turning against the manager after so many similar performances this season, which happens at every club eventually.

I would be in favour of keeping the manager for now, mostly due to the buy out, not because I have any confidence he can turn this around. I expect a new regime will put their own man in if the results and performances are this bad. They will of course rebuild the personnel - but with a clean start I expect

Basically the players hate Martial, they’re starting to hate Rashford, they think Amrabat, Antony, Hojlund, Mount and Weghorst are shit and don’t rate ETH or his tactics.
Who are these players? They have named half the squad. Shaw, Sancho and dalot think all that ?

What a fecking idiot

MEN Mentioning the Munich Air Disaster and Tom Jackson in their statement is downright shameful from them.
Correct. They are acting like they are one with the club just because they've been around for a long tie. feck right off.

I'm not a fan of cancel culture, but I think he should be sacked. He is just an utter cnut.

It's not journalism if it's speculation, or not true, it's lies, and too many fans are too quick to believe the lies that the media push out.

It's absolutely pathetic from Luckhurst. He's had an absolute barrage of abuse since he poster that abberation of a response too, not that he will care. Making these grandiose claims then making out you're impartial without ever telling us who or how they GET these stories? If it's a wantaway like Sancho (or Lingard before we got shot of him) who even cares what they think

but like when Ten Hag threw Sancho under the bus a while ago
Wrong. See, this is the issue with how press report things. If you actually listened to what ETH said in that interview, you'd see it was a pretty innocuous comment taken way out of context. If that was throwing players under the bus then Pep has already thrown Gvardiol, Nunes and Phillips under the bus.

they are correct though, why dont they kick the leaks out of the club
Sure, why don't they name their sources; who are the leaks. If they want to be friends with the club and if they certainly don't like seeing us in crisis, the least they can do is reveal their sources.

Poor little Luckhurst making it out as if he’s been kicked out from reporting on an armed conflict as opposed to reporting football gossip from a disgruntled squad member (who could it possibly be? I’m guessing the conversation was had over a game of fifa pro clubs) and reporting it as fact without contacting the club, and then acting as if he’s just a concerned friend. feck off.

Not that I disagree with banning journalists for being too unethical or lazy to do their job properly, in fact I think every club should do this every single time it's warranted....but it isn't going to look like a good move if we get thrashed by Chelsea tomorrow or Liverpool in a week or so, at least one of which is quite likely.

Would have been better to challenge them in the press conference on anything that the club knows is untrue or out of context.

If its relevant, well sourced investigative information then sure.

Vague random source stories about unamed player being unhappy or such and such unidentified person whining that the training isn't very nice etc. I really could not care any less about. It unfairly reflects badly on ALL the players and isn't any kind of important insight into anything at all.

At best it's pandering to some whining man baby who's probably just sulking at being subbed off a few times, and at worst its completely made up, and there's no way to tell which because there is no substance or relevance to such pointless garbage to ever trace it back to anything.

Journalism is supposed to be investigating and reporting the truth (using actual evidence) about matters of interest to the reading public. Not gutter ball narcissitic sh*t stirring

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
It's 2023!

Journalists only report what they see and hear!

Is Ten Hag's next move to insist that every negative post on RedCafe or every angry tweet on whatever twitter is called now gets deleted?
Have you ever read Luckhurst’s stories?

And I mean … STORIES.

The guy’s a total kernob and may as well put a City top on. He’s fecking heartbroken when we win and says something like “United made hard work of a team a top six side should easily beat… the best side lost”.

I wonder if Luckhurst or others are gonna ask Pep or Klopp how they feel about the ban United put.

I understand what you mean but journalism is also not checking only one side, if there even is one. This is just lazy journalism and even if it is true which wouldn't be surprising, his text just smells like he is just fishing for reactions. Nothing else. Just pure negativity. You can even look at what he wrote today. He knows what he did. You can really feel desperation.

As a newspaper, talk about Munchen, talk about other stuff to get our emotions are really low class. They should make a apology tonight. Disgusting. Or our club should ban them even more. They talk about that they represent us. They don't. They represent them self. Nobody else. We don't need them to tell us what is happening at our club. We have our own sources. If they want to be journalists, they have lot to learn from former journalists.

I'm waiting for posters to say "but Ten Hag isn't SAF".

The point is, to be a top manager you often have to be completely and utterly ruthless. With the press and with your team. Its a trait that's non negotiable for success at this club in my opinion.

They'll never reveal their sources but whoever reported that 'Sancho is training like a beast' story was taking the absolute piss.

That statement invoking the Munich disaster, and the journalist who lost his life, in an attempt to prove their historic links to the club was very ill-advised.

They're not doing themselves any favours.

We all predicted a fight would be picked with a player next, who knew EtH was thinking on a much bigger scale and targeting the media.

Sure he hasn’t made this decision alone but it’s a massive mistake. You do things like this when you have cache and job security. The wolves will be circling round him like we’ve never seen before.

He’s not SAF or Jose, he’s not built for this beef.

The absolute brass neck of MEN.. if they cared about the club as much as they propose to, they’d get in touch with the club directly and point out which players are selling stories from inside the dressing room, instead they choose to publish said stories to stir the pot and see what sticks, then when the club decides enough is enough.. they’re actually paragons of virtue and its the clubs fault for not looking closer to home???
Parasites…they should be boycotted for this kind of stuff
We should do what City do and ask them to justify every word they print
