Surely St. James Park is one of the more difficult fixtures of your league campaign? They beat you there 3 months ago.
Given they can't beat Chelsea or Palace currently and just about saw off Luton, I'm not quite sure how Everton or Newcastle away are winnable. I'd be quite surprised if they won either. Especially in their awful current form.

I'm just, if Newcastle away is so winnable, then what games are actually tricky? Anfield and Emirates? Even peak city dropped points to teams outside the top three.

I'm not sure which team we are talking about, but both teams are lumping the ball around. Every time the ball goes wide there seems to be 0 options other than cross.
Everton. we usually play with a 4 at the back. We are missing key players and also playing people out of position.

Not a dig at Everton (ok side, some players out?) but Burnley are awful.
No dig taken. 4 wins in a row now. Two tough away games with clubs around the relegation zone with us (Forest and Burnley) and two home wins against Newcastle and Chelsea. On great form.

I know people say that it's a good season to get the deduction but it's a bit annoying that we would be sniffing around Europe this season without it!

Still doesn't mean it's not winnable. Of course, it's tough but we're not exactly going there as underdogs. It's also a month away which is plenty of time to sort our form too.

So we're going there as underdogs?

Just too lightweight. Surprised me how bad they've been but they had a better team in championship last year.
Did they have a better team or did it just look better at the Championship level.
The jump up from the Championship to the Premier is huge as we see all three promoted teams flirting with relegation.

Nathan Tella scored 20 + for them in the championship. He went to Leverkusen so that wasn't realistic signing.

Had Maatsen and went him back on last day of the window but he decided to stay at Chelsea, barely figured and they'll probably sell him given he's classed as home grown so a win for FFP.

Most realistic was Harwood-Bellis. Was regular for them but he opted to stay in the championship by going on loan to Southampton which surprised me.

Their only signings with major prem experience were Nathan Redmond and Sander Berge so a limit to what you can do with that. I did expect them to be better than 8 points after nearly half the season though.

It's so weird looking at the table and seeing us with 8 wins and the teams below with 3 and 2 but we are still down there.

Voted the best city in the world
They don’t look like that team this season. Think somethings missing.
Yeah, extremely difficult to keep a team who’s winning everything motivated to that degree, year on year. I guess we’ll see but the ability to just switch it on, is still there, so I guess we’ll see. A new league winner would be great for the league in fairness - as long as it isn’t Pool.

Assuming they will restart the match and not just play the 30 mins or so that was left?
The laws of the game, as posted on the FA website, say that: “An abandoned match is replayed unless the competition rules or organisers determine otherwise.”

Given that we are not even at the halfway point of the Premier League season yet, there is plenty of time to squeeze in a replay. There needs to be a result from the match to ensure that all Premier League teams play an equal 38 games across the season.

In all likelihood though, the match will be restarted at 0-0 and they’ll play a full 90 minutes https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...ton-replay-tom-lockyer-collapse-b2465334.html

Today it is more than five years since you last scored at Anfield. Let's hope that continues.

Yes let those on a Manchester United hope that continues :houllier:

Tbh most of us are more concern we’ll ship 4 or more. Not that it will matter - this season will likely end a write off for us regardless.

Hopefully Arsenal get the job done vs Brighton today. With City starting to falter need Arsenal to ensure this season isn’t as miserable in terms of rival’s successes as the last one

In that light, I think it would be a fine gesture for you to join in that hope then.

Same with Arsenal to be fair.

It'll be a Scouse/Manc 1 And 2. Not sure what order.
Arsenal lead the table for much of last season. They clearly have a bigger chance of winning the title than Villa.

Hopefully they do it so that I don’t have to witness number 20 or 4 in a row.

Another great choice by Sky for the 2 o’clock on Sunday. West Ham again v Wolves.

Things happening with the other teams, Villa playing well under Emery, Arsenal could go top today, Brighton just qualified through their group in Europe for the first time in their history could deny them that today.. but no Sky don’t want to show that.

Arsenal showing that great pressing isn't about having players "on PEDs" running their asses off all the time. It's just about them collectively occupying very high positions on the field and every successive line of pressure pushing up too.

How many times has Antony been in the position Kudus was in, only to rocket it miles off target?

Good finish, Kudus! Maybe keeper can do a bit better but that's what happens when you hit the target, I guess.

Some away fans gonna throw something at his head one day if he keeps doing that celebration sitting on the ad boards. Not saying he shouldn’t do it, but you can see it happening, only takes one idiot.
