I think he's excellent, didn't really see much chance of us ever getting back to where we want to be as long as he was there and Pep was at City with them cooking the books. This gives us more of a chance. It's a bit shit in a way that I felt we need rivals to falter rather than having hope for us to overcome them through our own greatness but that's how we've fallen. Something like this opens things up more.
While I do rate him very highly, this talk about them being dominant if it weren't for City's financial doping and Pep might be a little overblown. Outside of the 1 title he's finished 2nd twice with them. We've been 2nd twice too in the same period and we've been crap. It's not like he'd have won 5 or 6.
97, 99, 92 points in 4 season is domination. Add 3 champions league finals in that period.
To put it into context
In Sir Alex Ferguson 26 year era, only ONCE we have had 92 points+.. 93-94 season. You can say we should have had more here or there but it still..
Let not United tinted glasses lie to you, Klopp as been as dominant as any other elite manager has been in PL. His only mistake is he was during the City doping Era under Pep.
Liverpool 2018-2022 era is almost identical to our period from 2007-2011 only big big difference is the league titles wins. To which if you remove doping City usually Liverpool will win the league with those 92+ points.
+ add UCL win, 2 losses in UCL final almost identical to our run.
And as Ferguson retired afterwards, in 2013, also Klopp seems to have burnt out afterwards in 2024.
Hopefully, they make the same mistakes we've made after Fergie retired.
