I think there's massive overreacting in here. He had a disastrous CL campaign no question about that. But I cant think of many league mistakes, and we've been conceding an insane amount of chances all season. We let in 3 versus wolves midweek, I don't think its fair to say he was at fault for any of them.
Maybe we should also try and split his record across days. He's had disastrous Saturdays. But his Sunday form is basically number 1 in the league.

If he was flapping at every cross and seemed to be making his defence nervous, I'd worry, but he doesnt.
How do you think Martinez anticipated the goal line save? He makes the defence fecking nervous. They know that if they make a mistake and the shot is on target but not at Onana, it's basically a goal.

He is an embarrassment. After Dave, i thought it could only get better, but he is worse. Like he never played in goal before.

Arent these comments better for after the game if he made a mistake?
Does it matter? Plus it's not like we're going to affect his confidence with the posts here. Onana doesn't read the caf. At least I hope he doesn't.

I recommend we pretend the past never happened and that today begins a new era for Onana. A clean sheet with some good saves and snappy passes out of the back, plus one or two crosses claimed, would be a fantastic performance.

Extra pressure not to concede set pieces today. West Ham will no doubt be targeting him.

Solid shift today. No flapping and had a great parry early in the game. Mrs. Onana will have her hands full tonight.

Decent game, looked a bit leaner and more concentrated as well.

I feel like he came here a bit overweight and not applying himself properly, we'll see if he can keep improving or just be a liability over the next few months.

He's not good enough. He'll blow hot and cold but he does not command his box. That said he had a good game today.

He'll get another season, for sure. ETH is not going to jettison him that quickly after investing in a keeper, it's his personal choice. Unless the manager goes he'll be staying and playing, I'd wager. Let's hope he gets a bit better. No issues on the ball but commanding his area, set pieces, some of his shot stopping - some real basics for a keeper have been very subpar. All those things need to go up a few notches for him to stay here long term. Today was decent.

Solid performance. Looks like Martinez returning is helping everyone's confidence at the back.

Just like to point out here, imagine this thread if Onana dropped this disaster class from Alisson in a massive game.

Solid today. Will help his confidence. Had that one really good save, and also handled a real pile driver by pushing it well away from goal.

A perfectly good game, nice to see.

Still a bit disappointed with his long distribution though.

Im absolutely not getting involved in a back and forth here, just pointing out massive exaggerations - but I have to respond here. To my knowledge he has the 4th highest number of saves in the league this season for any keeper, and the second highest shots saved percentage. It must surely bother you that you're actively just making shit up to make a point. You understand you can criticise in a measured, reasonable way? But at the moment, you're just talking absolute shit for the sake of it. Even if these stats are out by a figure or two, (using fbref) this remains provably false bullshit - I just dont understand it. Such a drag on a forum when there's this volume of childish shrieking type posts without a semblance of objectivity.
