Too many average teams look dominant against us. We regularly get overrun in the midfield
It simply isn't working
It simply isn't working
Except they probably arnt, most of their team arnt working for the club yet and without knowing who will be in charge next season they cant know what tactics we will be playing what positions we need to buy players for.The INEOS team is already making those assessments and determinations. It won't be up to this manager or the next one. No more 'clean slates'.
Fulham were actually quite wasteful today and lacked the final pass multiple times. Largely because they were missing their two best attacking players and their best midfielder. I reckon this would have ended worse with Willian, Palhinha and Jimenez on the pitch. They are all low quality chances I've been told, so it's fine.
he knows the right buzzwords to be fairProactive attacking football, fantastic.
He's been bailed out a number of times already this season where we've played utter shite for more or less 90 minutes, and either got undeserved last minute winners (Brentford, Fulham, Villa), or clung on for dear life after taking a 1 goal lead (Wolves, Burnley, Fulham, Luton)To be fair, the writing was in the wall. We were playing like shit despite winning the last four matches, and it was only a matter of time when the luck will run out. Yet, mentioning that we were playing bad in the last few games, and the usual suspects would jump about people being ‘manager haters’.
Let’s face it, you might like it or not, but ten Hag is a very mediocre manager who should have been sacked months ago. We yet again sacrificed another season persisting with a manager completely out of his depth.
I'd take Mourinho, Conte, anyone who can set up a compact team and actually have us looking like we won't get strolled through like a park.I would take Tuchel this second.
Impossible. How did they win a game if they had injuries?Fulham were actually quite wasteful today and lacked the final pass multiple times. A lot of the argument is not against the personnel in CM particularly. It's the set up that is a problem for so many of us. The 4-1-5 with no support to the DM, vast spaces between the back and front 5, full backs not backing up the press.Again, what would people have done differently?
- Start Diallo instead at RW after he’s been out all season?
- Start ??? at ST as we’ve got such a depth of talent in that position?
- Who would have magically played in CM when Mainoo had a poor game?
I get we’re depressingly used to being overrun in midfield, but what’s the solution? Who (within the squad) is being overlooked who can provide the energy and quality to stop this?
I get the performance was shit, I get that the result was shit, but with long term injuries to key players who are integral to the way we want to play, what do we expect?
This isn't surprising at all. If anything, it's surprising we aren't first. I've never seen a United team so easy to play through.Tweet

A statistic that says everything that needs to be said. You aren't winning s-t if teams keep having chance after chance against you.
I dont think there is a group of players who can play like this, with these many gaps between back 4 and front 5, with such a deep line but high press. What do I know but I don't see how it's possible to play like this.
How come people are seeing this now. As delusional as ETH is with his playing style many of the fans here are as delusional or even more than ETH.
Some of us have sung this song for more than 12 months now till people thought we were critical for no reason.
My conclusion remains.
Either ETH leaves or Bruno leaves. I said in July last year we won't be with both of them in 18 months. The center will not hold anymore. Playing transitional football is unscale-able and unsustainable.
We will go round in circles until we get a courageous manager to bin all transitional players in this team. As Ratcliffe is decisive in club directions and personnel we need a courageous manager who will bin off this useless playing style.
Give even Carrick this team he will set us better and have us compact, at least Carrick was courageous enough to bench Bruno. if Carrick was here Bruno wouldn't be in this team by now and our team would have evolved alot.
We play once a week but we get muscle injuries, we have no urgency, we lack precision, we lack patterns in our play BECAUSE we play in a way that it's unscale-able, you can't upgrade our playing style to any other level.
Ask yourself who we would sign to upgrade this playing style?
No that's wrong.Absolutely got a point to prove and knows the PL plus he actually performs better when he’s not expected to win big trophies, Dortmund and rebuilding Chelsea, only Klopp and Tuchel have taken two different teams to a CL final. If he’s available now I’d take him.
Start anyone other than Rashford up front. McTominay, Bruno, Diallo. Whatever. No good options but Rashford is the worst option.Again, what would people have done differently?

You're the Godfather. Can't you just make him an offer he can't refuse?I thought this months ago
That's not even close to true. Mourinho, Ancelotti and Guardiola have won it with different teams for a start, off the top of my head.Absolutely got a point to prove and knows the PL plus he actually performs better when he’s not expected to win big trophies, Dortmund and rebuilding Chelsea, only Klopp and Tuchel have taken two different teams to a CL final. We did not have a healthy left back.Impossible. How did they win a game if they had injuries?
Yeah exactly. I'd rather not get top 4 if it means he stays in a job as it's quite clear he's taking us nowhere. Short term pain for longer term gain.I really hate the “if we don’t get top 4, he’s gone” thing. He should be gone regardless - even if we fluke our way to top 4. Have you people seen the way we’ve played football since just before the league cup final last season? Horrible
Getting to top 4 this season and this guy staying would be a nightmare because we would be right here next year. Our playstyle and performances are crazy. 10 league losses by Feb. Goal difference of 0.
Agree. We’d be wasting another year to “give him a chance with a good footballing structure” even though the prick is adamant in having huge control over transfers and his tactical ideas are repeatedly dogshit. Even if we bought brilliantly this summer it wouldn’t change that.I really hate the “if we don’t get top 4, he’s gone” thing. He should be gone regardless - even if we fluke our way to top 4. It scares the shit out of me that fluking top 4 or 5 when other teams collapse could mean a new contract in the summer for himI really hate the “if we don’t get top 4, he’s gone” thing. I don't think the INEOS team will be as myopic about CL qualification as the Glazers and their people wereIt scares the shit out of me that fluking top 4 or 5 when other teams collapse could mean a new contract in the summer for him
Who plays RB if Dalot is at LB? You’re taking a player out of his best position to have two players in awkward roles.Start anyone other than Rashford up front. McTominay, Bruno, Diallo. Whatever. No good options but Rashford is the worst option.
Play a system with more than 1 midfielder. Especially in a game where it's obvious we'll struggle to create.
Play Dalot at left back, who is a far more combative and competent footballer than Lindelof in that position.
Yeah, the Glazers only cared about CL qualification and the money that came with it. Actual success was never even really on the radar.I don't think the INEOS team will be as myopic about CL qualification as the Glazers and their people were

He's just taking the piss now
It's true, too, it's not just exaggeration on the internet. We're good at forcing high turnovers with our pressing, while we also play one of the deepest defensive lines in the PL.Tweet

The bigger picture for him is a multimillion pay off in the summer.Tweet
