It's hard to not feel hopeless when it's either (apparently) this shite or Southgate.

Have you actually watched any of those Ajax games? You mean like they did the season before he got there? They also got picked apart in 2017.
LVG still had a chance of top 4 on the final day of the season before he was sacked. ETH doesn't even have that now. This is the worst football post-Fergie by some margin.
I know people slate LvG but at least his style had previously proved successful & in spurts produced things like Juanfield.
This football has no saving characteristics & the acceptance that we’ll concede circa 20 shots a game is malpractice.
Easily,This is the worst football post-Fergie by some margin.

He played Mount today on left in place of Rashford. It probably means that he realizes Mount’s best position is there. He seemed to have gambled on the Casemiro-Mount-Bruno triple from day 1.
It didn't look like it'd work from day 1, but 2 of the 3 have barely been available all year to boot.
Going from LVG to Mourinho has completely fecked us for years. Should have built on that possession orientated approach instead of ripping it all apart and going for counter attack football. This is the worst football post-Fergie by some margin.

Berrada knows more about world football that this forum combined. If he is unable to come up with a manager that can improve on this we should all be scared. The only thing that will keep him in a job beyond this summer is any perceived lack of viable replacements. I cannot INEOS / Berrada etc. watch this dross every week and think there's a path forward with him as manager.
He is the Donny of managers.Have you actually watched any of those Ajax games?
I made a point to watch a few games when we were linked to him and he played the exact same style we are playing now and it worked in the Dutch league due to the overall lower quality of the league. Even then he barely won it in his last season.
The league over there is utter garbage compared to the PL and hasn’t been a top league for about 20 years or so.
Do you remember our side basically strolling to the win in the EL final?
It’s a myth pushed by people that are too stubborn to see what’s right in front of us.
He’s no better than De Boer

I think LVG style was misunderstood. It was adapted for us being crap so focused heavily on being defensively sound. The rest of it city would appear exactly the same if they had that squad. This is the worst football post-Fergie by some margin.

And cost us a goalHe played well at LB against Liverpool
You clearly don't know what you're talking about. He took over Ajax in Dec 2017. These were the players they sold:You mean like they did the season before he got there? They also got picked apart in 2017.
Yep, it’s not even up for debate at this point.LVG still had a chance of top 4 on the final day of the season before he was sacked. ETH doesn't even have that now.
Yep! I know it’s en vogue to slate LvG but I genuinely think another year or so under him then a more progressive manager. & both Rashford & Martial have completely different careers.Going from LVG to Mourinho has completely fecked us for years. Should have built on that possession orientated approach instead of ripping it all apart and going for counter attack football.
Statistically this will be the worst in so many more categories too.Easily,
It’s not even close anymore. I’m sure statistically for goals scored in the league it’s our worse average post Fergie too.
This is the issue I have & this isn’t just aimed at you personally. He is shite. But il take it over Southgate if that is the best alternative the Glazers and Co can think of
At least we were solid defensively under Louis to offset the shite attacking football. We had the best defence in the league or close to it in both his seasons. Currently we can't even say that. This is the worst football post-Fergie by some margin.

The injury thing was always a shit excuse, those may affect the results, but the underlying philosophy should not be effected. We have been poor no matter who has played. We don't look like a team, and that is damning. His time at Ajax is too overrated, and there are examples like De Boer who did well at Ajax but failed else where.I’m not even defending him really, I was earlier in the season when our injuries were insane. But we’ve got most of them back now, no midweek games and plenty of time on the training pitch. And it’s just terrible stuff every week. Which is mad when you consider what he was at Ajax.
I’m looking around at the options if we did decide to replace Ten Hag - and there isn’t really anyone, in a time when the likes of Liverpool and Bayern are already after a new coach. I think if Ten Hag was still at Ajax, and we were in this current situation with another manager - he’d be at the top of our list! Which makes me think we should just keep him.
Then I watch a game like that…
I initially thought this, but the likes of Ornstein and Mitten have basically said in their own words it's not just clickbait. This is the issue I have & this isn’t just aimed at you personally.
Gareth Southgate is not ‘the best alternative’ or anywhere near it.
Look at our football. The facts are we aren’t getting Pep or Klopp but be honest, we don’t need either to improve on the crap we’re witnessing.
Berrada is coming over from City with kore football knowledge than the Caf could imagine. If he & Ashworth [whose DoF in waiting] can’t come up with not 1 manager better than EtH who has managed club football in the last decade then we’re fecked regardless.
This isn’t EtH vs Southgate, the links came out right as an International break kicked off & our fans lapped it up.
I'd simply just find something else to do with my time if that happenedI can actually see a scenario where Poch gets the sack at end of season and we pick him up.
After the first ten minutes during which period Brentford stayed deep to see what we were trying to do, they started to play long. It immediately jammed everything into our box and they got plenty of corners. That phase seemed taking the soul out of our players.I don't really know why we were so shit today. Feels like everyone went on international duty, had fun, and were a bit depressed coming back. There's no joy in the team.
The doomsday clock on ETH's tenure definitely ticked a second closer to midnight.
Poch with a structure in place would be interesting. Big risk though.I'd simply just find something else to do with my time if that happened
Can't stand him. Dull little fella, football has never done much for me either. It would be less inspiring than Southgate. At least that would be car crash tv.Poch with a structure in place would be interesting. Big risk though.
Been the same for most of the season. He's so slow to react and make changes either in tactics or subs most of the time.Within 15 mins it was obvious that Brentford were deploying a very low block to negate our fast attackers. A blind min could see it. No change from ETH, carry on with the same nonsense and hope for the best, while letting them counter on us.
That clown Schteve is as bad, shame he does not get the negativity he deserves.
In all seriousness, I don’t rate Southgate. Bottled the Euro final after the early goal and is too conservative, but at least he seems to be able to generate something positive from the players.I'm sure Southgate would find a way.
I still do rate Potter, objectively speaking. Though he should try a middling club first to prove Brighton wasn't some fluke.
I’ve said it for years. With the alternative being Jose we should have kept LvG as the likes of Rashford & Martial would have been far better players for it.At least we were solid defensively under Louis to offset the shite attacking football. We had the best defence in the league or close to it in both his seasons. Currently we can't even say that.
Hmmm, I feel like the leaks these iTKs were getting have dried up post Ineos & people are clutching.I initially thought this, but the likes of Ornstein and Mitten have basically said in their own words it's not just clickbait.
