Why not? Any decent keeper with an ounce of self respect would blame themself for not doing better there.

It's too fast from too close. Rarely do we see a goalie catching a similar ball .

If you are shit at least be humble. No need to pick a fight with opponent before a game and show to the whole world in the game you are indeed the worst Man Utd GK in history. Fecking unbelievable idiot.

Surely got a decent chance of going through next week?
We would have an even better chance had we won 2-0. Instead our goalkeeper decided to play for the opposition.

Where's the guarantee Onana won't throw another 2 goals in his own net in the 2nd leg.

The guy single handedly cost us the CL group stage last season dropping howlers in every game. He's an act of sabotage on this club.

I wouldn't trust him to hold a pair of scissors.

Let's see if I got this sequence of events right.

Each CL game last year, Onana kept making howlers. And each time, ETH kept picking him next game. Onana proceeded to single handedly throw out our CL campaign.

The rest of the season, he continues making howlers.
The manger is sacked, we start next season. Onana continues making regular howlers in goal.

Big EL game. Onana mouths off to the press about how we're far superior to Lyon, gets put down by Matic.
Makes a howler in the first half, team down a goal. We score 2, somehow, and regain the lead.
Onana wastes time by goading the Lyon supporters behind goal.
Last minute of the game, shot straight into his arms, Onana spills it right into Cherki's feet, and we concede.

I would love to bet on Onana starting the second leg and gifting away at least one more goal. It is absolutely going to happen. Amorim - like ETH before him - lacks the ability to drop underperforming players, especially the keeper. I don't care how poor Bayindir is, I'd rather see him make mistakes than see this fecker in goal, but there's no chance of that happening.

We have 2 amateurs playing in the 2 most decisive positions on the pitch, keeper and striker.. Amorim needs to drop both for the rest of the season before it's too late, as the replacements can not possibly do any worse.

I guess that shows how poor the French league is. They have a few individuals and not much else. I feel we can control the 2nd game after that performance, but we're toast if Onana plays like that again.

I would have some confidence in Onana if the mistakes he was making were with his feet or passing, but it's all basic goalkeeping stuff. Any keeper gets a hand on the first one at least, and the second he's too slow to close down Cherki on the follow up.

Played pretty well for the most part, decent away performance in Europe - shame about the clown in goal.

We should have enough to beat them at OT

We would be better off with a banana in goal .saying that we showed that we can beat them at OT. Just drop Onana and Hojlund

2:2 - good result away before the game, pain in the hole after the game with the way it played out. Genuinely like playing 8 or 9 against 11 half the time with what we're getting from some of them.

But decent result at the end of the day, should hopefully have enough to get the job done at home next week.

Yeah he has to be dropped. Otherwise he’ll just do it again. You forget even the high moments he was trying to flex in response to Matic, like the FA Cup final, he was making mad errors.

It's hard to have any hope when your own players so consistently shoot themselves in the foot most games. Onana must absolutely 100% not start the sec leg, I don't care if Bayindir has one fu actioning leg, I'm sick at the sight of Onana flapping like a child in goal he needs to be put out of his misery.

Big picture. Matic spotted weakness. He was spot on. We should still beat these. But should have won. Hilarious how George Hamilton pronounces his name with accent on last A when he’s playing middling, but the more usual stress on the O when he’s bleeding goals

They are poor but we have clowns in our team that can give any side a chance against us.

If the keeper is going to come out and give an all guns blazing interview at least have the minerals to back it up with a performance and not be at fault for both goals
He is all false bravado to mask his powderpuff mentality

I thought I gave up before with this formation but I just hit a new low. 3-5-2 /3-4-3/3-5-1 or whatever the feck it is we play, I'm done with it

We've given a side that doesn't deserve a chance a real chance of making it through at Old Trafford. I'm absolutely fuming in all honesty.

I'm disappointed as feck by that late goal however, we really should be beating this lot at OT. Not that we're the best side in the world or anything but our striker and our goalkeeper put in legitimate 1 out of 10 performances today and we still should have won.

Defence looked great for most of the match and then I have a feeling when Maguire came off we lost some cohesion.

Garnacho should be an impact sub when teams are tired. I think Mount and Mainoo must be in contention to start if they can build their fitness.

How is it that game after game, we keep talking and criticising these two players in Onana and Hojlund, and we keep seeing them start games.

If Amorim plays Onana again, instead of giving Bayindir more chances, the results are on Amorim

We don't really have a Hojlund alternative. We have Bayindir in goal, who literally played lion's share of a role getting us this far in this very competition

Real shame we conceded that, would be much easier at home. Overall, probably fair result for both sides and we remain favorites. The less I say about Onana and Hojlund, the better.

It feels like a loss conceding a goal so late, but the result is still decent.

It's hard not to feel angry at the goalkeeper, but we've seen it sooo many times in the past 15ish years. How hard can it be to find a proper goalkeeper? Sorry, Andre. It's just not good enough. And please, stop looking unfazed when you make those blunders. It pisses me off!

Anything can happen though. They're a really cynical team, a weaker ref could fall for anything and this team needing to win versus only needing to draw are a different thing. Its an awful goal to concede

Frustrating that this team gave us hope for 5 minutes before the calamity ensued.
