Maybe he grew up watching mafia movies, and didn't wanna break the oath, and be a snitch.
It is very likely backtracking on Afridi's part. I'd have thought a simple apology would have been a lot better.I do not dispute any of his other comments. And I am aware of the autographed Sachin jersey he has in his living room. He is the games most loved, respected and biggest global icon.
But it still does not excuse that one comment. It's fairly obvious he was going to backtrack and try to make up or what he said. That is just what any person would do in his own interest to save face. I never say such things about Pakistani's even when I'm drunk. Clearly he's got some issues.
they still do.Afridi is actually a pretty popular cricketer in India. Many girls in my school and college days used to be ga ga over him as well.
Spot on...It is very likely backtracking on Afridi's part. I'd have thought a simple apology would have been a lot better.
However, it's worth noting we should not take too seriously the comments of uneducated sportsmen as gospel. Vidared was somehow trying to make out he was a terrorist sympathiser.
Although i didn't mean to imply that but i can see how people could come to that conclusion. He is not a terrorist or a sympathiser but his comments were idiotic. You wouldn't see Indian players making a direct accusation like that on pakistan or bring religion and politics into the mix.It is very likely backtracking on Afridi's part. I'd have thought a simple apology would have been a lot better.

IPL in general is wank. It doesn't bring out any emotions in the public and most dont care if there team wins or not. The betting people love it though.Btw am I the only who isn't at all interested in this year's IPL. After this WC, I just can't see myself immersing in T20 Cricket for two months, and I reckon that will be the case for many more Indians.
Good stuff... only criticism I have is Gambhir was not given any credit. He played a huge part. Came in at 0-1 and played superbly until a rush of blood cost him his wicket..Something every Indian should watch...
3 more runs, and he would have entered legendary status!Good stuff... only criticism I have is Gambhir was not given any credit. He played a huge part. Came in at 0-1 and played superbly until a rush of blood cost him his wicket..
