ETH stubbornness is gonna cost us. In what world does anyone think Eriksen and Casemiro is a match up to their midfield?
Who are we supposed to start? Gore? Hannibal?

Mount and McT are injured and Amrabat isn’t registered yet.

All things considered our team today largely picked itself

Hah, it seems like the social media team saw the Martial rumor and decided to have some fun with it. Good to see Hojlund on the bench, and it seems Sancho really is injured. A shame. Both teams' midfield looks a bit unbalanced. Gives me hope we can get a result.

There's a difference between being hurt & being injured. I'm sure many feel that he is often hurt but not injured, hence the vitriol.
The fact that he has played through injury says their wrong though. Pogba was said to fake his injuries too. This place can be toxic. Jones also got the same abuse like they choose this.

So Hojulund is our new #11 and Bayindir our new #1. Interesting.

How is our bench still so weak after two transfer windows? It is insane. We will get battered today if Bruno, Casemiro and Rashy not on their game.

Our attacking options from the bench are actually great today. But feck all else there if we pick up injuries anywhere else

The battle of which midfield will be overrun the most today.

We're full on injuries and we haven't signed many players tbh. Spent quite a lot but not on many.

Not much else he could have done with the line up with Mctominay being out. I’d have been half tempted to just throw hoijlund straight in because Martial is either gonna get injured or be blowing out his arse by about minute 50.
Have to keep this one tight first 15/20 really. If arsenal score early could easily be a 4/5/6 game.

We deserve to get battered if 3 of our starters are not at it…

Agreed, it's so ridiculous around here in terms of treatment towards injury prone players. They will be suffering 10x more than we are about their situation, it is horrible to be constantly picking up injuries and nervously expecting the next injury.

People wouldn't act like this if they were Martial's colleagues or worked at the club, shows how fans often dehumanise players weirdly. Hopefully he can get a good run injury free and turn his career around regardless of what happens with him here.

Tbf, the injuries are making it look even worse. We're missing quite a few players who would either make the 11 or the bench.

However, someone is always going to be injured, as that's just the way it goes. So...hmmm. Lots of work to still do then.

Would absolutely snap your hand off for a draw today.

Then hopefully kick back off post international break in a better state with a few players back from injury and Amrabat ready to play.

Difference with Pogba is that we all thought it.

Hopefully that is what he does, it’s a bit unfair to the lad to throw him in at the deep end.
I think it’s a perfect game for him to start. Expectations of a good result are lower than against worse opposition so if he does anything at all it would be a boost, and if he doesn’t then so what, likely none of our more experienced players have either.

Ultimately he either has the strength of character to succeed here or he does not. Playing such games is the only way to find out.

That bench is... I want to use the word "shite" but it somehow doesn't feel shite enough for how shite that bench actually is.
I think the word you're looking for is "young". Now that we've sold most of our squad players who were not good enough, im quite excited by the prospect of playing more kids this year. I expect our table position will regress but that's fine.

Which would all be fair if he’d been playing recently and hadn’t had a month off with injury and starting at a new club in a new, much harder league.

As I think Fergie once said, it’s not that some players are lucky and avoid injury, they just have a higher pain threshold
100% this. I'm sure everybody knows or works with somebody who goes down with the slightest thing. The first sign of a sniffle and it's call to say they're not coming into work. It's a nightmare.

Sancho, Mount, Amrabat, Varane, Shaw, Malacia would be part of the squad under normal circumstances.

    Reguilon, Hojlund at least
Ah yes, the player that literally signed yesterday and still needs to learn his teammates’ names, or the player who has been out with a back injury and only back in full training for like a week. Totally makes sense.
