Arsenal Football Club nicknamed The Gunners, are a professional football club based in Holloway, London, England; and were founded in 1886 as Dial Square, by the workers of the Royal Arsenal armaments facility, before being subsequently renamed as Royal Arsenal. Arsenal are one of the most successful and popular clubs in the history of the English league, with a trophy haul than includes 13 League titles, 12 FA Cups, and 2 League Cups, among others. Since the arrival of current manager Arsene Wenger, Arsenal have built a reputation for playing an attractive, streamlined style of football that rivals some of the best teams in Europe while boasting the likes of Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Vieira, Cesc Fabregas and Robin Van Persie. The club plays its home games at the Emirates Stadium, and has a bitter sporting rivalry with neighbors Tottenham Hotspur in a match termed the North London Derby; apart from a competitive rivalry against the other major clubs of the Premier League, especially Manchester United - in an affair that peaked in the late 1990s-early 2000s period.

LVG is good against the big teams and we generally do well against the Arse. We'll beat them. 1-3.

Big, big game. Beat them and we're going to be at the top for a while. We need Carrick for this one and a fully fit Smalling/Blind and Martial will take care of the rest

We'll murder these fannies. It's good in a way that our performance today is not truly stellar. LvG will be demanding more at the weekend. Herrera needs to play, he schooled their midfield last season.

A win here would be huge. We can't go into another international break with a fresh loss again.

I'm usually sceptical when a team is due a win against us but think we will get a result here.

We'll scrape it 2-1 I reckon. Arsenal will have a bunch of chances wasted/saved by De Gea and Martial + Mata will score 2.

Arsenal are questionable with their end product and because of that, I can honestly foresee De Gea being our man of the match. He usually does well against them, so I am not worried that Arsenal will score that much against us.

I also feel Van Gaal will easily outsmart Wenger tactically and give us a comfortable victory. Walcott is predictable as a striker, Ozil tends to go missing in match like these and most of their players lack mental strength. I feel we need to put Arsenal back in their place after a couple of underperformance last season by us.

Think tiredness could be a problem as Arsenal rotated a bit - nevertheless i expect / hope for a tight win

Tough game here. Arsenal are due a win at home against us really, that's why I'm hoping we get a draw. We're a better side then them but they have a few great players going forward and Sanchez is in top form right now. If we get a win then it'll be huge for us and turn us into early favorites for the title IMO and we'd look like we might start pulling away from the pack. A loss and it's all very tight at the top between United, City and Arsenal which is what I think the real level of the teams is.

    De Gea
    Young Smalling Blind Darmian
    Schneiderlin Schweinsteiger
    Mata Rooney Memphis
    Martial
A big performance from Rooney is vital here. We need Schneiderlin to be hugely improved compared to today as well as he was pretty bad today I thought.

I'm expecting both teams to carve out chances in this game, with Arsenal having a lot more attempts on goal than we have. Arsenal will hit us on the counter and it will be a matter of whether their finishing lets them down or not. Their defence is their weak point and I think we will be more clinical than them so hoping for an away win if we can play with enough energy for the vast majority of the match.

Lots of rest over the next five days needed. Team looked knackered after Wolfsburg. All areas except goal need looking at. Will Carrick be fit? We need backup for Bastian. Poor games tonight from Valencia and from Memphis, Young wasn't at his best either.

Don't care how we win, this is the biggest game of the season so far and a win here and we can enjoy the two weeks off and the boost for our squad and fans will be immense.

Jammy 1-0 victory with an OG does me fine.

Our forward line is hitting its stride and Cech will be back in goals. Koscielny is out which is annoying so big test for Gabriel and Mert. 2-1 to us, Alexis and Theo, Martial for you - I like the cut of his jib.

Hard to call this one until we know who's available, how knackered everyone is after tonight's game, and whether Van Gaal has the balls to do a bit of straightforward rotation for freshness. If we can play

    Martial
    Memphis Herrera Mata
    Schneiderlin Carrick
    Rojo Blind Smalling Darmian
and get a decent amount of running out of everyone, then I'd say it'll be very even, and we could come away with a result.

If, however, Rojo, Carrick and Herrera can't get fit or Herrera continues to be 'not allowed', and we have to play the same, physically weary line-up from tonight's game, then Arsenal could well take us apart. Their defence is shaky but their forwards are really starting to click. They produced some electric, unplayable stuff going forwards against Olympiakos.

Ideally I'd love SmallBlind partnership and I'd rather do that if Rojo is fit but if not I'd rather Blind be at LB than Valencia at RB.
Sticking with this selection I'd have Young as he'll help cover Blind and Memphis needs a bit of a rest.
I'd have Herrera over Rooney but that's not going to happen.

Who actually believes in a side being due a result?
The reason they have such a poor record against us is due to Arsene failing to address the same problems they have year in, year out.
We then take advantage of those same deficiencies year in, year out.

Pretty solid bar Gabriel who has been a bit shaky. What do you make of Ramsey on the right wing?
Gabriel has been very good, stupidity with Costa aside. I'm more worried about Mertesacker.
Ramsey on the right reduces his best attributes but gives us our best shape, allowing Bellerin space. Chamberlain has been inconsistent, as much as I love him and is defensively suspect.

Arsenal = Best and quickest team in transitioning from defence to attack, we need to be careful on Sunday.

We need to sit back and counter.

    De Gea
    Darmian--Smalling--Jones--Blind
    Schweinsteiger--Schneiderlin
    Mata--Rooney--Memphis
    Martial

I really hope Carrick & Herrera are fit for this one. I would want Rooney dropped for this for Herrera but I don't know if Herrera will be fit enough + I'm giving Rooney one last chance because he's playing Arsenal and usually does well.

I hate to see Smalling and Blind split up but we need to settle on the fullbacks for this run of games. We're right back to where we were last year due to Shaw's injury but we don't have to be. Valencia is not doing so well this season at RB. I'd like to see Darmian - Smalling - Jones - Blind for this one. The rest of the team picks itself.

    Hoping for
    De Gea

    Darmian....Smalling....Jones....Blind

    Carrick........Bastian
    Mata
    Memphis................................Young
    Martial

    Subs: Morgan, Pereira and Wilson.
Were going to need a solid defence in this game and in my opinion bringing Jones back and moving Blind to LB will solidify us.
If Carrick's fit he has to play, he is key in big games (vs Liverpool) and alongside Bastian they will boss CM between them.
Rooney needs to be dropped, we cannot carry passengers in crucial matches, were on top and we need to win to stay there. Give the captains armband to Mike, Carrick or Bastian and play Mata at #10 (I don't think Herreras fit).
    Young, Martial and Memphis upfront.
