I've wanted to see this team all season and now is the prime opportunity given Lukaku's injury.

    Sanchez Martial Rashford
    Matic Pogba Herrera
    Young Smalling Bailly Valencia
    Daffid

Unleash them and let the battering of Brighton commence.
Yes it's one of those; you can't be pleased with an injury but getting the opportunity to start at least one of Rashford and Martial is a huge positive. Hope they take it with both hands.

All this talk of Martial playing as striker, Sanchez is better than him through the middle.

Whose ridiculous idea was it to have fans needing to go all the way to Brighton on a Friday night?
The FA fecked over the Brighton fans in the FA cup with the evening kick-off at Old Trafford.
I suppose the idiots think they are making up for that error.

Not tall enough for Mourinho to use him there though I agree, Martial as a left wide forward, Sanchez middle as a false 9 and rashford on the right would be very good imo.

    against the same opposition? :)

Edit: it was against Burnley on Jan 20th. But we also beat Bournemouth 1-0 after the Brighton game. So, all teams that start with a "B".
    OOoh

    That is quite eery.
Right, MUFC vs Brighton, 1-0 it is!!!!

Suspect our away fans going to this one will mostly be based in London. Doubt many Mancunians will be making their way down unless they're off work.

I'm not usually someone to be glad of an injury, but this could be an opportunity for Martial, in particular, to put in a MOTM performance.

If I were Martial, I'd tell Jose that I want to play and I will put in a MOTM performance. Jose simply will not be able to resist. He loves to see players wanting to play every single second of every match, running through brick walls, putting in maximum effort. Someone needs to tell Martial this.

In actuality, Martial is a quiet guy, who has a demeanour about him, which is akin to someone who has given up and is sulking...even though this may not be the case.
Moreover, I don't think he has the verbal ability to give the manager confidence, to put him as the main striker, up top.
Notice that Lukaku and before him Ibra, were both very vocal and confident in their abilities. At Chelsea, Costa and Drogba were not quiet either. Martial just does not fit the type of character that Jose wants.

The man has a lot of natural skill, but his mild mannered personality seems to be putting him out of favour with Jose, which is frustrating for us fans to see.

pass. You would have 4 attacking midfielders operating in the same 10 yard square per usual, and would be so congested brighton would be able to snuff it out with 2-3 defenders easily.

5 really, since Martial is hardly going to play as a target man/fox in the box. Awful line-up.

According to Samuel Luckhurst, United will start with Martial, Rashford and Lingard

Presumably Sanchez benched then if that's true?

    We all love United
Think Fellaini and Pogba will start in midfield, Jose will save Ander until the FA Cup final. Mata will get a game too i reckon

So Sanchez hasn't travelled. I guess he will protected until Lukaku comes back before we can't afford injuries to both before the FA Cup Final. Fellaini I think will start with Herrera and Pogba. Or maybe even McTominay.

I'd love this lineup then. Guessing we'll see the Italian waste of space however.
