Everything points to a Brighton drubbing, which probably means we will win. I fear for the final though

One game I can easily think of is the return leg vs Forrest
    Good shout...

After a quick browse to check the team for that 2nd leg...Rashford started on the bench and came on around the hour, with Antony, Casemiro and Varane coming off around 70-80 mins.

But I agree that team could of been more second string from the start!

Although my point still remains, there hasn't been many games this season where EtH has had the luxury of rotating...every match it seems turns into a struggle.

There is such a cloud hanging over this team. But I just want to see togetherness and willingness to suffer and struggle for the full game. If we stick with Brighton and don't lose heart, we can win this.

Not wanting us to win for fear of meeting City is the very type of mentality which should be expelled from this team.

Are there any young cbs around the squad that can maybe get a game. Or at least a spot on the bench? We don't have much options other than lindelof and Shaw. Who else?

    De Gea
    AWB - Lindelof - Shaw - Dalot
    Bruno - Casemiro - Fred
    Antony - Rashford - Sancho
Time for us to lube I think, this could get ugly. We'll need energy in midfield so Fred comes in for Eriksen for me.

    Positives:
-We can play Rashford up top and play on the break and Dunk and Veltman are slower defenders
-AWB might be able to deal with Mitoima's dribbling

    Negatives:
-They'll have control of midfield, which suits Bruno and maybe Rashford but less so the others

I'd be very tempted to play Pellistri on the left wing, personally. Shame we haven't seen much of Bruno on the left wing do well, because a front 3 of Bruno coming in from the left, Rashford moving central to the left channel, Antony on the right and then a midfield 3 that can defend and counter in Eriksen and Fred in front of Casemiro makes sense. But we've been bad with Bruno out left.

Having been a Brighton fan since 1983, you do not know how weird it is to read something like this from a fan of one of the biggest clubs.

I watched us almost fall out of the leagues and now we are described as one of the best possession teams in England. It won't last for ever, nothing does, but I'm enjoying this while it does.
Certainly enjoy it. Open to correction but I don't think Brighton in their history have won a match in Wembley Stadium but you won't get many better chances than Sunday, against a United team off the back of last night's woeful showing and will have a make ship defence. Certainly won't begrudge Brighton and will be hoping you go on to win the Cup if you do indeed win this weekend.

Geez, this isn't going to be easy. Disappointed there's no news about the injuries from the press conference. Concerned about Shaw and Rashford who looked miles off the pace. Assuming Shaw and Martial are injured i'd say:

    DDG
    AWB Lindelof Casemiro Dalot
    Fred Bruno
    Antony Wout Sancho
    Rashford

Hopefully Shaw and Martial are ok, and that line up will look a lot better with Casemiro back in the centre of midfield.

Brighton are a good side. Not an easy game at all. Sad thing is, with the team morale probably a bit low at the moment I think Brighton would probably have a better chance of beating City in the final than us. That’s not a sentence I thought I’d ever type out.

Against Sevilla, I predicted a narrow loss (certainly not 3-0) and I was one of the few who were stating that Sevilla were favourites to win the EL tie.

This game is in Wembley, so neutral territory.
    The return of Bruno F.
    I think we'll win/draw this one. I can't see us losing this.

Ive a feeling we might actually sneak through on Sunday then hopefully beat City at Wembley to end their treble hopes.

When we were battered 4-0 by QPR at Loftus Road back in 77 I dont think a lot of people gave us much of a chance of beating Leeds in the FA Cup Semi Final a few days later but we ended up beating them 2-1 and going on to the final where we beat Liverpool to end their treble hopes.

This is 100% a loss. Brighton will know how to exploit spaces. Sancho, Maguire, Lindeloff, De gea are all weak points. So many water carriers on the day just don't work.

Firstly, thank you once again for the respectful posts about my club and for being a top fan community.

I’m going for a Manchester United win for this one. Manchester United have a knack of “turning up” when things seem low, there is a repeated, constant historical precedent for pulling something special out of the bag on big occasions when hope seems lost.

Our squad, talented as they are, don’t have a huge amount of experience playing under huge pressure. Being the bookies favourites and reading the pessimistic posts on here all feed into this expectation. Counter to this are the fact that we now regularly go to big teams and are very competitive. The first game of the season against you, outplayed Manchester City at the Etihad, did the double over Chelsea…

The pattern of play will, however, be as many have predicted in my opinion. I watch a lot (a LOT) of Premier League football, we dominate possession almost every game - no matter who we play. Manchester United will attempt to play a decisive, direct counter attacking game. Bruno will play deep and try to receive the ball from Casemiro and Eriksen, and get Antony and Rashford in particular in behind. This is a perfectly valid tactic against us.

I don’t think ETH will fancy going man to man in midfield, if I’m truthful. I think he is a good coach and recognises your strengths and our weakness; namely Rashford’s pace and movement and our weakness to fast and direct counter attacking.

And I don’t mean to be snarky with this (it’s my honest view as a football fan), Maguire being suspended is a huge blow for us and a huge plus for you. Many are joking on the Brighton forum about appealing his ban..

Finally - and thank you for reading - I am desperately hoping for a fairly refereed match. Many of you will have seen what happened against Tottenham, and moreover that we are the most apologised-to team in PGMOL history. We have lost 11 points directly from decisions PGMOL themselves have accepted were incorrect, which would put us in your position in the table.

There is a sense from many Brighton fans - rightly or wrongly - that the television companies, the FA, and the media are clamouring for a showcase Manchester derby final. I personally have heard and read snippets in the media to this effect. I only wish for fairness, not favours and apologies.

I won’t be posting in the thread again closer to kickoff as football is rightly partisan and I have my own forum to be on for that. But hoping for a good game and may the best team win.
Admire the way you have played this season mate. If you do beat us best of luck in the final.

Enjoy it while it lasts mate. Brighton are flying high now, playing super football with some exciting young players and a good coach.
I remember the 83 final well, great game, you should have won the drawn match. Best of luck.

This will be the true test if we do bounce back after a shite result.
I suppose one thing in our favour is that Brighton as a club have never really hit any heights apart from the Cup final against us many moons ago and maybe the occasion will get to them....clutching at straws I know:annoyed:

I’m missing that fit French bird in the treatment room so time to start limping and signalling to be taken off.

Luckily no Maguire for this game. So i think we will win this
Didn't know Maguire has Svengali like powers over De Gea that make him play like crap. With Maguire not there to hypnotize him, I expect De Gea to be back to his world class form from 5 years ago.

Is Ten Hag going to use these games as motivation?

It happened during the corner for the 0-2 goal. Maguire pushed Sabitzer who bumped into Martial (fell on his leg??). If you paid attention during Sevilla goal, ceberation, you could see our medical staffs running on the pitch to treat Martial.

I remember the last couple of time we played Brighton in the FA Cup at Wembley 2-2 in the Final and they should have won, only a very late Bailey save got us the replay, that was on the Wednesday night and I was there for the 4-0 win.
FA Cup semi Finals and Finals form goes out of the window we have seen it many times in the past.
It wont be easy but I think we will win.

I dont agree we have no chance , I dont agree that they will ne hammering us, far to much doom and gloom after a beating on here. OK it was a bad defeat but we have had them before , we will have them again. The score predictions are a joke.
They way some are going on, we might has well stay at home and forfeit the game !
