Think I'll find something else to do on Sunday.

It seems like all of the good progress is undone.

Shows where we're at when we're going into a game against Brighton as underdogs. Can only see a comfortable defeat.

    DDG :(

    AWB
    Lindelof
    Shaw
    Dalot

    Casemiro
    Eriksen
    Bruno

    Antony
    Rashford
    Weghorst/Elanga

Pray the occasion gets to Brighton but seeing as none of Rashford, Shaw, Casemiro or Eriksen look close to full fitness/form, I think the outcome is pretty inevitable sadly.

Done with Sancho and Martial, even if fit.

I'm really on the fence with regards to this game. I never really want United to lose but if we make it to the final against City, Pep will set up his team to just embarrass United and ETH and could quite feasibly win by 5-6 or even beat Liverpool's scoreline. On the other hand if we catch them on their off day we could spoil their Treble chances...

I think it won't matter anyway as it'll be Brighton to embarrass us on Sunday as they've been miles better than us lately and are exactly the sort of team we struggle with the most - hard working, fast, intense. Won't be surprised if it's another 4-0 from them.

Us winning this semi would be one of the bigger upsets of this season to me. That was also true before last night. The players who aren’t injured are spent.

Not a matter of if United will concede from a defensive blunder, just when.

With Bruno back and in the form he's in, I think we'll win. It will depend a lot on Rashford and Antony to have great games as well.

    This one im worried about..

Prob a plus Maguire isnt playing. But they are flying and we are all over the place..

If we did get past them, It could well be a hammering from City in the final. (esp with a maguire/lindelof back2) I think id rather take going out to Brighton that another City whipping.

If we win this we have the rest of the season to focus on finalising top 4 with no European games and a potential cup double which would be an amazing first season for ETH. This is a massive opportunity for the players to turn this into a great season.

If they press us (with no Varane or Martinez of course), we will probably lose.

Anything could happen at Wembley. It’s not at home and it’s not away so feck knows whether we turn up or not.

We know that Brighton will have nearly all the ball possession and will create a lot of chances, so we'll need to cut out the defensive mistakes and get runners in behind to hurt them on the break. Basically, we need Rashford and De Gea to both have great games. Brighton should be favourites but they are perhaps more susceptible to allowing the pressure of occasion to get to them.

Varane is not press resistant, Shaw is an upgrade in that sense. I am more worried that Casemiro and Eriksen will be chasing shadows, they were very slow yesterday.

Eriksen was poor I agree. My point was that if pressed when taking a goal kick, DDG, Maguire and Lindelof are utterly incapable.

Genuine possibility of Brighton hitting double digits on Sunday
They don't possess enough attacking prowess to do that. But it is worrying that i had to agree with Robbie Savage when he said last night that Brighton will be licking their lips and that they are the ones who can't wait for Sunday to come. But play like we did last night against City as they're hitting top form and with Haaland firing on all cylinders... if they want to humiliate us, yes, it can genuinely turn very ugly.

Such a shame we can't be at full strength for this run in as I think we'd have produced something special. I'd be tempted to play Casemiro at the back at this rate.

The squad depth is being shown up for the run in...anyone arguing its dowe to EtH not rotating more during the season should list the easy games United have had where that would of been a posiblity.

From memory anytime Rashford/Casemiro has been rested they were always needed in the second half.

Just need to accept the scenario and try to stumble over the line until the summer.

    De Gea I guess

    Dalot
    Shaw
    Lindelof
    AWB

    Casemiro
    Eriksen
    Bruno

    Rashford
    Weghorst
    Antony

I care less about the outcome and more about the players showing some goddamn fight

With Billy Smarts Circus at the back I don't give much hope of a Final. This is just another game to play. How can you get excited about a Semi final that you know if you get to the final you will be playing a juggernaut of a team with a depleted team...

You guys are dramatic, we'll be fine. Maguire suspended helps a lot. Shaw at CB, Bruno back in with Eriksen and Casemiro, Rashford healthy again and everyone angry about yesterday. We might not win but it certainly isn't some doom and gloom, hope we don't embarrass ourselves situation.

Firstly, thank you once again for the respectful posts about my club and for being a top fan community.

I’m going for a Manchester United win for this one. Manchester United have a knack of “turning up” when things seem low, there is a repeated, constant historical precedent for pulling something special out of the bag on big occasions when hope seems lost.

Our squad, talented as they are, don’t have a huge amount of experience playing under huge pressure. Being the bookies favourites and reading the pessimistic posts on here all feed into this expectation. Counter to this are the fact that we now regularly go to big teams and are very competitive. The first game of the season against you, outplayed Manchester City at the Etihad, did the double over Chelsea…

The pattern of play will, however, be as many have predicted in my opinion. I watch a lot (a LOT) of Premier League football, we dominate possession almost every game - no matter who we play. Manchester United will attempt to play a decisive, direct counter attacking game. Bruno will play deep and try to receive the ball from Casemiro and Eriksen, and get Antony and Rashford in particular in behind. This is a perfectly valid tactic against us.

I don’t think ETH will fancy going man to man in midfield, if I’m truthful. I think he is a good coach and recognises your strengths and our weakness; namely Rashford’s pace and movement and our weakness to fast and direct counter attacking.

And I don’t mean to be snarky with this (it’s my honest view as a football fan), Maguire being suspended is a huge blow for us and a huge plus for you. Many are joking on the Brighton forum about appealing his ban..

Finally - and thank you for reading - I am desperately hoping for a fairly refereed match. Many of you will have seen what happened against Tottenham, and moreover that we are the most apologised-to team in PGMOL history. We have lost 11 points directly from decisions PGMOL themselves have accepted were incorrect, which would put us in your position in the table.

There is a sense from many Brighton fans - rightly or wrongly - that the television companies, the FA, and the media are clamouring for a showcase Manchester derby final. I personally have heard and read snippets in the media to this effect. I only wish for fairness, not favours and apologies.

I won’t be posting in the thread again closer to kickoff as football is rightly partisan and I have my own forum to be on for that. But hoping for a good game and may the best team win.

One game I can easily think of is the return leg vs Forrest
