The bolded part is not going to happen after today's match. So today's result will hardly result in any managerial masterclass in the short run.
Well no but there are managers who are known for good football and those who are known for playing dull football.

7 defenders basically, let’s hope the other 3 can get us up the pitch, we have some pace at least!

Find posts like this quite depressing. The day I actively want the team I support to lose I hope will never come. Its not about wanting this or that manager to succeed or fail nor this or that player to do well. Its all about United. I realise it aint going to happen but I would love it if we went on an unbeaten winning run for the rest of the season and lifted the FA Cup and the Champions League to boot. And if we did and that led to a knighthood for JM well I'd be as made up as a pig ins*** As I said it aint going to happen and you could say, without offending me, that its living in cloud cookoo land but then that's what the majority of folks who follow football teams do every week of their lives and all credit to them. Sometimes, just once in a blue moon, their dreams come true. Just ask Leicester or Wigan followers.

It wasn't always sweet smelling roses at Old Trafford as for over 20 years we were basically in the wilderness as we are now. For goodness sake we were even relegated to the old second division. And through all the pain the supporters in the day still paid their money and hoped for better times. And better times came. Now they have gone again and just like I have witnessed throughout my life we have a multitude of supporters who appear to think we have some god given right to success. Well life aint like that.

From what I see and what the heck do I know because I am not in the know. How the heck can our chief exec be negotiating contracts where we are paying on average over half a million in wages per year per player. That is not any managers fault. Its the chief exec I assume who negotiates the pay rate per employee. Then we have had successive managers who seem to be wanting players who just do not work out. Now thats down to the manager and the scouting staff. Finally we have sadly some snowflake players who only seem to want to perform if they are loved....

But wanting United to lose what the heck is that all about. You certainly are not true supporters IMHO
    You're not speaking logically.

First of all I said (half jokingly, but even if I wasn't) that if it meant Mourinho would be gone I wouldn't care too much and it is because I support this club not just the destiny of one manager. You have to think what is better for the club. How can the club win more trophies.

Don't give me that crap of "true supporters" or not because it is based on zero logic and just tunnel vision. The sooner Mourinho get sacked the sooner we recover as a club. Maybe you enjoy being made a laughing stock off under Mourinho. We're a fecking joke and I want this shit to end and it will end one he gets the fecking sack which I am hoping, praying and rooting for.

Unlike others on here it doesn't make a difference for me if we beat Arsenal and finish 7th vs no beating them and finish 8th. Top four is top four. The premier league is the premier league.

It's never ok. I mean I get it but I hate it.
Yea it never was ok in my book but nobody minded back then, greater good and all that bullshit, no surprise there is no change in that regard now. Funny thing, back then greater good in their minds was wishing your team to lose so LvG gets a sack and JM takes over, now they wishing us to lose games so greater good of that time gets a sack.

The fecking state of that defence & midfield... this should be a comfortable Arsenal win

    Hopefully he's sacked tonight

I don’t want them to lose but it’s the choice of a quick death or the death by paper cuts we have had to go through with each manager since Fergie.

A total Jose meltdown may give us time to salvage the season. At the very least we could bring someone in and start planning longer term.

Instead we’ll muddle through Christmas and probably spunk a load of cash on another Jose signing in January leaving the new guy £70m less and a guy on a 4-5 year deal he may not want.

It’ll probably not solve anything and we end up sacking Jose when we don’t get top4.

Chelsea managed to win the Champions League with a caretaker manager so it could give us something to play for.

Jesus fecking Christ. Jose wants this ordeal to end as much as his biggest critics on here.
Apart from Fred/Pogba for Matic I really like that line up. I’d probably go 4 at the back instead of 5 actually, but the personnel are solid. Shaw would be playing over Darmian if he wasn’t injured.

3 CBs + Darmian. Theres no need for Matic. This was a game for Fred and Herrera.
Where's the fun in that? Fit all defensive minded players (even the ones in crap form) into the team and then ask the team to play faster.

Almost begging Woodward to fire him now.

Lingard will be the worst player in the game, him or Darmian. Lingard has been awful all season for Utd.

Fred not even on the bench, jesus, I really wonder if it was a Mourinho buy and if so why (he hasnt impressed me whatsoever when hes played either)

3 at the back versus Arsenal's 3 at the back. To be expected.

Lukaku, Pogba and Fred = 214m£ not even making the team in a home game against Arsenal and people are still defending Mourinho, Glazers and their puppet Woodward.

The shape actually makes some sense due to Arsenal doing the same thing. Not sure about the personnel though.

I look at the two teams player for player, and there's nothing in it, to be honest. Only thing is, Arsenal are playing with full confidence, whilst we're not.

Hoping we can conjure up a good performance and get a win.

Surprised they left Lacazette out. Could really have caused us trouble if they started both. Actually a surprisingly negative lineup from Arsenal. Auba, Iwobi and Ramsey front 3 essentially? Still think they'll outplay us but we really are there for the taking, and they're going conservatively.

I’m happy with that team. I’m a massive Pogba fan but his performance against a lower table team deserves dropping. He cant expect to only turn up for big games.

Desperate times for United as they field 2 goalkeepers in order to try keep the score down.

You can’t get much more defensive than that, I know we have an injury crisis but come on, 5 at the back plus Matic + Herrera :wenger:

Depressing isn’t it? We will sit mega deep tonight and hope to hit on counter.

Arsenal will control the game from first minute to last is my prediction.

    Jose out regardless of result.
