Unfortunately I can't see any way in which we progress tonight. AM are exactly the kind of industrious, fearless, hard-working, organised, talented team who will just bully us out of this game.

I predict we will start well, have 5/10 minutes of relative possession/territory, then AM will slowly start to play higher, gain control of the midfield, gaps will start to appear, they will create chances and eventually we'll go behind.

I also predict that whatever happens, this forum will blame Maguire
    This prediction seems on point.

We have to be clinical tonight, one chance one goal.

If you go by the way we have played in the last 1 month I don’t see how we can progress here. Hope they prove me wrong

It’s not easy to be optimistic last years, but Atleti are not in great form and we got a good result in the first leg, with a little bit of luck and a proper effort I think we can make it. It’s going to be tough but we’ve got the means

Yeah I expect a win but won't be surprised if we get knocked out. This is our last chance at a trophy and success this year so let's hope for a miracle run starting with a win tonight

Annoyingly can’t see anything but a defeat. We have just played so poorly for so long and Atletico won’t be wasteful if they get the chances.

I think they've won every match since our game including winning away to Betis who are doing exceptionally well. Felix is on fire, its a really tough game.

This is going to penas with Rashford and Bruno missing.

Also can see Ralf whipping out the back 5. Dave, Dalot, Lindelof, Varane, Maguire, Telles, Fred, Mctominay, Bruno, Sancho, Ronaldo.

Can't see us winning, I reckon our season ends tonight. Just can't rely on our defence in keeping them out and unless Ronaldo can carry his form into tonight, we're going to really struggle scoring. The thing is this team has let us down so often this season, usually I'd be up for it and thinking we'd win but all logic points to a loss!

I’m normally really optimistic, but expect us to lose this one.
They are however the 4th best team in Spain, behind even a Barca team that’s been horrendous for large parts of the season, so it’s winnable, I just don’t expect us to win it.

Matic should be a shoo-in. And we should defs play a a right back, at right back.

This literally will happen it’s been the case for whenever we’ve played a team better than us. I would absolutely love for us to play on the front foot for a lot of the game but we just don’t have the fight in us to do it

Maguire out. Varane and Lindelof. Cavani upfront with Ronaldo. Elanga to come on late if needed. Lets go for it!

Is Bruno and Mctominay back in the fold for this?

If Mct is out them we probably play with a 343 or 352 as Matic play 75mins on Saturday and I don't think he will be able to play this one.

We should probably play if Bruno is a available

    .............DDG
    Lindelof Varane Maguire
    Dalot Fred Pogba Telles
    ..............Bruno
    .....Sancho...Ronaldo

    If Bruno isn't

    ............DDG
    Lindelof Varane Maguire
    Dalot Fred Pogba Telles
    Elanga Ronaldo Sancho

Massive game tonight guys! I’m going aswell! Excited and nervous at the same time. Hope we can pull it of in 90 mins. We need the first goal, very important whoever gets the first goal, we do not want to be chasing the lead and making it an open game for them. If we get the first goal then we can set the tempo for the rest of the game. Let’s go reds!! #GGMU

Should be a very tight game but I think their experience will tell in the end. Wouldn't be surprised if that rat Suarez got the winner to compound the misery.

Hope I'm wrong of course :).

Honestly think If Atletico has a more attacking manager they would comfortably get through. They’re not going to expose our defence as much as they should and it could bite them in the ass as it does in Europe every year

    I'd like to see:

    ---------------------------------------------------------------De Gea-----------------------------------------------------------------------
    Dalot------------------------------------------Varane----------------Maguire-------------------------------------------------Telles
    ------------------------------------------------Mctom------------------------Fred---------------------------------------------------
    Elanga--------------------------------------------------------Pogba-------------------------------------------------Sancho
    ------------------------------------------------------------------Ronaldo----------------------------------------------------------------

Left back and Bruno are the difficult calls really. I've gone for Telles because his delivery on set pieces is the best we have. I also prefer Pogba to Bruno at the moment. I think he links better with Ronaldo and is also better at dropping deeper in to midfield to overload and make up numbers.

Rashford, Bruno and Cavani as good attacking options off the bench if needed later in the game.

Unfortunately I see us losing tonight. It will typically be a similar performance to when the likes of Burnley, Wolves and Newcastle would put up against us at Old Trafford. Sit deep and don't give too much space between the lines. Except Atletico will be much better at doing this than those teams mentioned. Because Atletico's pressing in their own third is very intense. Also, they have much deadlier options on the counter attack than those Prem teams that have caused us problems at Old Trafford.

I envisage Felix to have a cracking game and us being hit by multiple counter attacks. Obviously I want us to win, but I just see us getting picked off tonight.

I'd leave Bruno on the bench. Ronaldo performed well at the weekend and do believe that the two of them cannot perform optimally together. We will need to sustain pressure as well so I'd go for Pogba instead as he's far less wasteful in possession.

Bruno is usually good off the bench if needed too.

Hope we don't start with both Pogba and Bruno in midfield, if so, we will get quickly outnumbered and dominated.
Fred and Matic would be ideal, I don't know if Matic can play again for 90 minutes after Spurs though...

Atletico are a difficult side to play against and we concede goals every game nowadays. That means we have to score at least 2 goals if not more in order to win and go through.

Hopefully we progress somehow. Would only be the 3rd time since 2011 that we reach a CL QF. Awful record.

We got it awfully wrong with the lineup in the first leg, Lindelof at RB, Rashford at RW we’re both massive mistakes. Hopefully Rangnick does a better job this time.

Wow some people on this forum are depressing.

Ronaldo has just banged in a hatrick. Sancho is on form. It's knock out champions league. If you can't enjoy it, you shouldn't be watching football.

I reckon RR will stick with majority of the team that started against Spurs at the weekend with maybe Bruno & Elanga coming in. Don’t care how we do it, just win the game.

    De Gea

    Dalot - Varane - Maguire - Telles

    Fernandes - Matic - Fred

    Sancho - Ronaldo - Elanga

subs: Henderson, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Bailly, Jones, McTominay, Pogba, Mejbri, Lingard, Mata, Rashford, Cavani

Score Prediction: Manchester United 3-1 Atletico Madrid
