You think a midfield 3 of rooney/herrera and carrick will bring us closer to scoring goals ?

Feck rooney in midfield, after last year I never want to see that again.
I'm sure that Rooney will play in any position. LVG seems locked with this issue. Fergie dropped him whenever he could, behavior or football level. But LVG keep trusting him like he did the all season with RVP last year when we all saw that he was burned.

I would rather have a midfield combination of Schweinie - Herrera - Fellaini behing Martial, with Depay and Young crossing, than having this Rooney in the team

I hope Depay doesn't start. I hope Rooney doesn't start. And I hope Louis Van Gaal goes 442.

With Schneiderlin probably not available, I've gone with:

    -------------- De Gea
    Darmian - Smalling - Blind - Rojo
    --- Herrera --- Schweinsteiger
    Mata ------- Rooney ------- Young
    -------------- Martial

    Think we will play:

    De Gea
    Darmian Smalling blind Rojo
    Schneiderlin Carrick
    Mata Rooney Young
    Martial
Martial I think will definitely play up top, but with Herrera being ineffective in recent weeks and young being back then I think van Gaal will definitely drop him.

If Rooney's dropped and Schneiderlin is out he'll play this

I'm going to Wales tomorrow and will be traveling back on the train during the match, Is it possible to listen to the game on the radio? my phone has a radio on it. If so what station would it be?

Gosh. These potential line-ups show just how much the attacking options aren't up to par.

I'm surprised at people saying we'll be unbalanced without two defensive midfield players... Have you watched us all season? It's holding us back constantly and we played the second half of last season a set way with one holding player.. That worked out well in the end, right? I'm really hoping we just play one of Carrick or Schweinsteiger and see if we actually score some goals.

    de Gea
    Darmian Smalling Blind Rojo
    Carrick
    Herrera Rooney
    Mata Martial Lingard

Think we will win this, not entirely dominant but a comfortable win. Going for 2-0 with a goal in either half.

    Darmian - Smalling - Jones - Blind
    Schneiderlin
    ------------ Herrera --- Schweinsteiger
    Mata --- Martial --- Lingard

Van Gaals wet dream line up

    -----------Rooney
    Rooney-Rooney-Rooney-Rooney
    ----Rooney---------Rooney
    Rooney------Rooney------Rooney
    ---------------------Rooney
If that happened, and all 11 Rooneys played like sh!te, LVG would be blamed for not playing any of them in their right position.

Not sure I've ever said this, but I'd start Fellaini. If Schneiderlin is out, doesn't his make the most sense on form and health:

    ----------------Martial------------
    Young/Lingard--------------Mata
    -------Fellaini------Herrera-------
    ------------Schweinsteiger--------
    Rojo---Jones-----Smalling--Darmian
    ----------------De Gea------------

Schweinsteiger should have a bit of time to pick passes with Herrera and Fellaini's mobility in that area.

Alternatively, Pereira could play Fellaini's role, which would keep us in that 4-3-3 that might help a bit in terms of fluidity compared to how we look in the 4-2-3-1, and have the added virtue of being exciting, improving our passing ability on the ground and giving good experience to a youth player.

This is what I think he'll do:

    .....................De Gea
    Darmian..Smalling.Blind..Rojo
    ............Schweiny...Herrera
    Mata............Rooney.......Young
    ...................Martial

If Schneiderlin is unavailable, I'd love to see Pereira play deep beside Basti.

I chose my lineup without first checking out the presser - now it seems Schneiderlin might not be playing:(

Too bad you don't have 22 hours to change it.
Thanks.:D Having a brain fart moment for the second day in a row. Looked at the subs for Saturday's game, went to choose the one I wanted, and where did my fingers end up? - choosing Romero:rolleyes:
    Definitely getting old.

ah my bad, surely BBC 5 live have the game then.
    Thanks, will try them.

A win tomorrow is very important so hope we turn up, if its a repeat of what we have been seeing recently then :nervous: there will be many angry fans. I would love to see Martial play through the middle again. Goals please and 2 of them so 2 0.

    2 goals...are you insane!!!
Morgan Schneiderlin suggested that we try and score a goal and LVG excluded him from the team - how dare he suggest we score a goal

In all seriousness, I hope that the recent flack which LVG is getting, will spur him into getting us to play with some attack. 2 goals would be very welcome.

Vital we score first. That's if we do score, of course. Think if we get an early goal, we'll win the game comfortably, especially with the home support.

Chose 1-0 win in the score prediction, but just don't see where the goal is going to come from. With Martial out wide, there is zero threat in the box.
