Really hoping for a win here as it will take pressure off the Aresnal game and give us a somewhat free shot at them. Too hard to call though as it could be anywhere from a big City win to a decently comfortable win for us. Still pessimistic after our last few games against them.

I reckon Martial will be fit. Not too concerned on the loss of Dalot if AWB keeps up his good form, hes the better defender. He wont keep getting sucked into the centre to cover for crap centre halves now that we have the varane and Martinez partnership.
Casamiro is the one we really need to stay fit. Giant of a player for us.

do we have what it takes to handle Haaland? they have changed their build up shape a bit into now more of a 3241 so tactically how do we change our shape to defend them?

this seems like it'll be a defend deep and tight shaped and hit them on the counter in their back 3

So difficult to call this. First time in ages we are going into the derby as the form team between the two and not massive underdogs. Hoping Martial is fit as we don’t have no other striker to deputise and Rashford is much better on the left wing. If not then Rashford up top with Garnacho on the left wing.

    De Gea

    Wan-Bissaka - Varane - Martinez - Shaw

    Casemiro - Fred

    Antony - B.Fernandes - Rashford (Garnacho)

    Martial (Rashford)

Subs: Heaton, Lindelof, Maguire, Malacia, McTominay, Eriksen, Pellistri, Elanga, Garnacho (Iqbal)

Score Prediction: Manchester United 1-1 Manchester City

I really hope Pep does indeed try too hard as he sometimes does when facing "tough" opponents.

First time in a while I can watch this match without my hands in front of my face, at least

I've got a feeling that if we win tomorrow it will be through Casemiro putting in a MotM performance.

I hope we at least show something here. Last time we played expecting a kick-in and they obliged. Lots of movement, put their defence under pressure

Not looking forward to this. I would take a draw. I think our best option is to counter. Guardiola just destroys us whenever we play his teams.

Let’s be honest, United have a free hit at this match.

After the 6-3 beat down nobody would expect United to be this close to City!

Win, Lose or Draw just enjoy it.

Yeah, we rarely play well against spanish sides or spanish managers, against the best of the lot we are struggling. We need our key players to play out of their skin here. Maybe Rashford can give them some problems on the counter attack

    ...................... De Gea
    Wan Bissaka Varane Martínez Shaw
    ....... Eriksen Casameiro Fred
    .. Antony....... Bruno....... Rashford...

I wouldn't be surprised to see Bruno as a false 9. It would allow us to play a more defensive midfielder (Fred) and he seems to really like Casameiro and Eriksen. Plus with Martial being out, I don't see too many more options.
Oh god I hope not, didn’t we actually try Bruno as a false 9 in the 6-3?!

Martial is probable. He had something on his leg the past few days but came back to train in the morning and finished it just fine. Now they are just waiting to see the reaction after the training and decide whether to play him or not. Ten Hag said it's nothing serious and if he were to miss the City game, he'll likely be fit to play the Palace game on Wednesday, that's how minimal the issue is.

    Fernandes Rashford Garnacho

Possibly this for the team if Martial isn't fit, and if he is Rashford to the left and him up top?

I'd like to see what a 3 in midfield of Casemiro, Fred and Eriksen can do as agree that we should definitely go with Fred in there, so it's gotta be Eriksen or Antony dropping out.

Yeah, I’d say that’s a very realistic shout.

Just hope Martial is fit as Rashford is much better on the left rather than through the middle.

I'm going in with this mindset too. Would be hard to swallow defeat but will be trying my best. I'll be ecstatic with a draw.

Feel nervous about the game now, which is a testament to the progress ETH has made with this team. Usually just hope for the best on Derby days in recent years, but think we genuinely have a good chance of a result tomorrow.

Get me to OT so these nerves can end haha.

What would you all think if we lost but actually were the better team throughout the game and City only just scrapped through with the win?

Would you view that as progress and be satisfied or is getting the positive result all that matters to you regardless on how we play?

I think the ‘how’ is right up there with the result. Would love three points, but would glean some satisfaction from a well played game on our part.

I could see a draw happening. Most likely think we’ll lose but not by an embarrassing amount. Tiny hope of a win, maybe like 10% expectation at most.

As long as we fight and stay in it to the end I won’t be too upset.

Just for the sake of dreaming though, if Spurs pull a win out the bag in the north London derby and we somehow manage this tomorrow, the title is suddenly looking well within reach. 6 points off top if im not mistaken.

3-0 us. It's been a long time since we've come into this game feeling like wheir the form team. We're winning.

The number of positive articles about us in the media are insane. Doesn't bode well for us imo. All set for the jinx

If martial can't make this game then I hope we play bruno as a false 9 rather than put rashford out of position when he's in this kind of form

Didn't work at Etihad, however Varane went off injured along with Casemiro coming off bench so might be different outcome

Love how when City lost concentration it is not seen as a weakness but they "couldnt be bothered and it should have been 6-0 or more". Them conceded three was not a joke, on another day those goals could have ruined their day. If they made mistakes they made mistakes, theyre not this godlike perfect football club. The fact that theyre behind fecking Arsenal with lite pep in charge tells you everything you need to know.

Start the above. No silly experiments if Martial is out. We have been in form and Rashford scored 2 through the middle last game. Play our strength and let's go toe to toe with the noisy neigbours.

I hope we play on the counter in this one. No need to try going toe to toe with them.

I imagine we've seen this lineup for 15 minutes at the end of a game, but it feels like Eriksen often comes off by that time, so I'm not sure about playing a team with so little experience together.

Feels safer to just play the usual lineup but on the counter-attack, then take Eriksen off after an hour, before he becomes a passenger.

Think we’ll try and take them toe to toe though being at Old Trafford, we need to make visiting teams scared again. Our home form this season is pretty strong.

Ye garnacho would give Kyle Walker a good test. Assuming he starts at RB for them.

I’d be buzzing with the 3 points no matter how we played. Obviously it would be a lot sweeter if we played some really good football and played them off the park and won. However we could also be the better team and lose the game in which case I won’t be to bothered as long as we fighted and tried to win. If we lost and didn’t bother trying them I think we’d all be annoyed.
