Providing these players stay fit there's absolutely no reason to play Young, Valencia and Fletcher. Even as subs I'd rather bring on the likes of James, Pereira and Januzaj (obviously).

I love how we are hunting in packs when chasing the ball. We're not doing it every time yet but that was a key part of LVG's philosophy at Ajax and we will get there. It's the first time I've seen it from this team.

On the attacking front, Falcao must be licking his lips at this.

We're actually playing good football, even if we drew 0-0 I'd be happy with good attractive football.. we haven't had it in years!

Great first half. As soon as I saw 4-4-2 I sort of knew we would play well. I should have come and changed my score prediction.

Di Maria, Herrera and Rojo all been excellent. Rafael has been one of our best players. Rooney's touch still seems a bit loose but good goal. RVP still doesn't seem to be on it.

Really liked the gesture from the club for Rio. I know it doesn't make up for how he was asked to leave. But still a classy gesture.

Looking forward to the second half. 6-0?

Of the subs, who do you want on in the second half?

For me: Januzaj, Pereira & Falcao

Rojo, Blind, Ander and Di Maria are excellent.
Really impressed with Rojo, Blind looks like our Gareth Barry (I mean that in a good way), Ander is doing what I hoped Cleverley would have and Di Maria is the best player in the league (Falcao excluding as not seen him yet at United)

Di Maria fits that shirt rather well.

We can probably now afford to rest one of our strikers and bring Radamel Falcao on.

Good half. All the same though, QPR are shambolic. Against the top 4 is where I will really judge it
Can you enjoy what we are doing for the moment? We first need wins against low-ranked sides before thinking about the top ones.

Rest of the season is pretty simple really, Di Maria doesn't get injured and plays every minute of every game. That should get us there or there abouts at the end of the season.

The Qpr defenders are clueless when Di maria is running at them full speed..

    Its pure joy to watch.

I'm so happy right now. This genuinely feels like the start of something. Yeah it's only QPR but all of our new signings have impressed, our midfield actually looks effective, you can see a decent style of play with purpose from the start rather than players waiting for something to happen. Welcome back to Old Trafford.

Excellent half. The tempo still needs to increase but it's far far better then the past few games and at last we have been more clinical with two well taken goals by Herrera and Rooney. Angel Di Maria has been the big man today though, by far the biggest creator of danger. Only Evans and De Gea for me were noticeably poor, the former in particular responsible for a number of suicide balls. Hoping for a tab more stability from them in the second half.

We certainly have the players to compete at the top so now the confidence needs to match that. Hopefully we can build that up starting from this.

That was brilliant first half. Superb energy and movement everywhere. Di Maria is incredible, and Daley Blind is starting to show he is the DM we've been looking for all this years.

Just had a flick through the Premier League thread on RAWK. They're not happy.

Piers on Twitter talking bollocks again, saying that Di Maria is a poor man's Sanchez. Oh god, does he even believe in some of the shit he says? I've never wanted to punch a twat so badly.

Don't want to put a downer on anything but Evans has still been pretty poor side his clearance from De Gea's mess up. We need Shaw playing then Rojo can play CB.

It isn't the dropping of the 3-5-2 that is working it is having functioning fullbacks back in the side as opposed to Young/Valencia pretending.
Its also a revitalized midfield that can actually press and win the ball back with ease. Not to mention go from box to box with no issues.
