Leggy after ET on Sunday? Check.
No Varane Martinez or Bruno? Check
New manager bounce for Spurs? Check

We really haven't had a lot go in our favour this season. This is like the 5th time we have faced a team with a new manager/caretaker too so players are always busting a gut in that first match.

First 15 minutes will be crucial. New manager bounce, plus they want to put their last loss right and the crowd "8 manyoo".

See that out, maybe get a goal ourselves and it really should be fine.

feck about with it at the back early doors and give up a daft goal and the crowd will think top 4 is back on and we'll struggle.

Drawing against 10 man Everton was their first game after Conte left and their caretaker manager had to quit last week. This Spurs side doesn’t do new manager bounce.

“There are some unavailable. [Lisandro] Martinez, [Raphael] Varane. We have to see how Bruno Fernandes is,” Ten Hag told reporters when asked for an update on his team.

“We don't know yet, he is a question mark. I think for the rest, we are quite okay.”

"It's more often [than not] that players [wear the boot], that we protect them,” he added. "Prevention.

“But it [the ankle] has to settle down so we all have seen he played the full [90-minute] game and it happened in the first half.

“But [the game is] Thursday, so tomorrow is quick but we have to see what is possible.”

Hope we don’t lose against Spurs. I’d take a boring 0-0 draw but this fixture has traditionally had loads of goals in it

it’s clear as day we need quality squad players coming in if we want a sniff of a title challenge next season

Lloris is definitely out which in my opinion is an advantage for them. Lenglet & Davies are doubts and will have late fitness tests. They were on the bench against Newcastle so more than likely they are at least in the matchday squad tomorrow. Hope they won’t start as I’d prefer our right side attacking Perišić & Sánchez.

Hope Shaw and Iceman start. Maguire just gives the whole team Jitters.

Without Maguire, we can at least scrape a draw with Brunao being out!

Well, he has managed them before so not exactly a 'new' manager. Hopefully, no bounce then.

Bruno playing or not playing doesn’t affect whether Maguire starts. Is it the armband you’re particularly worried about?
Yes. I fear it's one of those things that could create an issue because some people in the media might try to make it an issue.

If the de facto captain is out through injury, and the manager doesn't pick the literal captain to lead the team but rather leaves him on the bench and gives the armband to someone randomly, it might become a story about ETH having lost the trust of his captain. It could cause tension in the dressing room and could be a distraction the club don't need.

I very much doubt that. Everyone in the press already knows that Maguire is EtH's fourth, maybe even fifth choice for CB. I don't think anyone trying to create a story out of that would generate any real traction. Let alone becoming an issue in the dressing room.

If Maguire plays, it's because EtH needs him at CB, not because he is a captain. This team has several leaders and experienced players. I think everyone in the dressing room knows that Maguire is a club captain instead of a team captain. Just like Ashley Young was.

We've had a miserable start to the season, the CR7 saga, some horrible losses and one of our most important players sent off twice and being suspended for seven games in total. None of those created any drama or distraction in the dressing room. EtH has perfected the team spirit, we finally seem to have some sort of mental strength in the team and there's been next to no leaks (yeah starting XIs getting out 15 mins before published but that's normal) from within.

So I'd say Maguire playing or not playing, having the armband or not or anything that comes from it doesn't distract this team. And it's quite simple, as it's been all season. If he plays, he has the armband. If not, obviously someone else has it.

Maguire has played almost exclusively against weak teams, late in matches while defending a lead when the team was pinned back anyways, and when there was no other option for CB.

If dropping Maguire was going to generate a controversy it would have happened dozens of times already this season.

If Bruno misses the game and Erik brings in Maguire I’m going for another away defeat.

No Bruno and no Maguire, go with a score draw.

Don’t think we’ll win personally but a draw will be enough to kill Spurs hopes of top 4.
