well you know that is how they will set up as they've done the past year plus except for against newcastle where they got thumped trying to play a bit more expansive, attacking football.
it'll be interesting to see who EtH selects at CB and how he sets up tactically to defend their counter with Son and Kane. i'd sit in a bit and let them come to us and see if we can play them 3v3 on the counter when their wing backs push into the attack

I agree with you. When we have options, we should use them. I would go with Sabitzer, Eriksen doesn't look fully fit either.

I’ve already said whyThey will bounce back for sure. After such a defeat, the sacking of the interim coach, the new interim coach, they will probably be cautious, seat deep and hit us in counter.
I also assume that they will do their best on corners and set pieces.
I would play the same XI as against Brighton (we have a tough schedule with Spurs, Villa at home, Brighton away, West Ham away) before before having easier games and 1 game per week (Wolves home, B'mouth away, Chelsea home and Fulham home).
No rotation anymore until Wolves, let's play the strongest XI.

As much as I agree that 120mins will affect the team we should be smart this Thursday , make no mistake away this will be difficult and they will look for a huge reaction,

The subs will be critical and we will need to have a far more mobile midfield I’d play Sancho just because we will dominate the ball and there be little space, after 60/65 mins Rashford and Ericsen from the bench could be huge in deciding the game as it opens up.Why is this on at 8.15pm?Really hoping Bruno can make this, not so much because I feel we desperately need him for this match, but because we know that if Bruno isn't on the field then Maguire is nailed on to start, and we need to avoid that.Bruno wearing a protective boot isnt a good look. Hope he makes it but it has to be a major doubt.
Ours should have done it twice this season alone!Play Lindelof and Shaw again, stuff the midfield as much as possible and stifle them. We go 50-60 minutes without conceding and I like our chances to try and steal something on the counter. We give up a goal early and who knows how many they will put past us.

When we got slapped by MCFC 6-1 earlier this season, no refunds were given, either.
This is actually a good strategy. I am not sure if Maguire is available/suspended - I can't help but feel that ETH will use Maguire if he can.
If Maguire plays, I can't see us keeping a clean sheet. He may even score an own goal.

It really would be the ultimate humiliation for him: England starter, club captain, world's most expensive defender, not making the team with the 2 first choice CBs injured and being overlooked in favour of a left back playing as a makeshift centre half.
It would be hard to see a way back for him at the club after that.
