    Collective knicker wetting pal.

Personally I think we should do them by two clear goals at least.
    Don't you support Barcelona? :wenger:

For what it's worth I am not having a meltdown and we will come good. There are a number of factors with a number of new players and fringe players being chucked into the mix including the lack of an adequate pre-season. I had a feeling that would catch up with us and I think it just has. We will get over this hump and be laughing at all the melts when we look back at their release of high levels of estrogen because of a game we were flat in and only lost because of a stupendously offside goal alongside 8 player changes who have had little to no game time so far.

I will panick if were 10-15 games in and struggling.

    My team would be:
    De Gea

    Valencia Smalling Blind Shaw

    Herrera Carrick Pogba

    Mata Ibrahimovic Martial

Rooney will play however, so Mata on the bench. Rashford could also play instead of Martial. I expect a comfortable victory (0-2/4).

Weird. I could see why someone rates City as good bets for a title but Arsenal, serial bottlers with a lame duck manager and a squad seriously lacking in character and quality. Nah.

And tipping Liverpool as good bets for the title just smacks of someone who's getting a little carried away based on a couple of games. No one would've tipped Liverpool for a title a few weeks ago, or even after Burnley.

    It's a matter of opinion, I suppose.

Let's see how the next half dozen league games go. I understand your almost visceral dismissal of Liverpools chances but they have been impressive.

I agree City do look to dominate these next few years but Arsenal will come back and they look stronger than they have for some time

I'm not ruling United out but I just don't see the strong backbone in place for you to be successful in the next few years

Is Bailly injured? Why would you want to drop our best player this season (arguably)?

A bit injured, but also time for a rest. Smalling is a very good player, and Blind is the only player in our team who consistently passes the ball forward, so he must play.

Jose might as well put the wide players names in a hat and pick them that way as none of them are playing well.

    We wont do it but I hope we stick with 4-3-3 and go with this;

Mata for Rooney. I suspect Mata there would be more successful giveb that Mata would drift inside as with Martial thus occupying the 3cbs and letting our FBs bomb forward in attack.

Rooney is not really a great crosser and I would not money on his left foot should he decide to drift in. But seriously @Devil may care how would he cross the ball to Valencia if he's on the right wing.

Arsenal have looked terrible. Jammed their way past Southampton last week and only won one other game apart from that. If a weak team like that famed for bottling are contenders then United are too.

The backbone of the United team is strong. De Gea - Blind/Smalling/Bailley - Pogba - Ibra.

It's the wide players who need to offer more. Starting full-backs are fine. But need from more Martial, Mata, Mkhitaryan and obviously the phasing out of Rooney.

I think we should go with a midfield 3 of Fellaini, Herrera and Pogba. Although I can see Jose going with standard 4-2-3-1 with Rooney behind Ibra which would be a shame. I want us to continue with 4-3-3. Who knows maybe Jose will surprise us with Rooney on the right wing. :D

I'd take a draw, and I think Mou will play a defensively minded team to stop us conceding first and foremost. I imagine Mou would take a draw now too.

It's the performances that are really worrying.

Great United sides of the past have lost games before, but there was usually a response to that in the next game We were even worse against Feyernoord.
Did they play the same team lineup in the next games though? The response was needed from the lineup that played City. It was a completely different team, they wouldn't have felt any responsibility for the City result.

Rooney is actually not bad on the right wing. He's the only player who actually keeps the width there as both Mata and Mkhitaryan drift inside. Play a 4-3-3 with Mkhitaryan as the right sided central midfielder. Since the right side of our attack is normally deeper than our left side and there's a lot of space there, Mkhitaryan's pace can be of great use in running into the channel. Put Blind at DM to run the game and hopefully the two in front of him can do enough running to make up for his lack of physicality. This takes a ball player out of the central defensive positions so I'm gonna throw Fosu-Mensah in there to make up the lack. He played at CB last season against Watford so why not? He needs a few starts anyway.

    My team:

    DDG
    Valencia TFM Bailly Shaw
    Blind
    Mkhitaryan Pogba
    Rooney Ibra Martial

If Bailly is injured, it will be Smalling and Blind at the back. He wouldn't dare play Rojo. Mihki is injured. Not a good idea having two out of form players in your midfield anyway. It will be interesting to see how Wayne is, if the rest has done him good, or we get the Wayne who should be playing constantly, otherwise it takes 8-10 games for him to come to form.

I've gone with this formation. It is a 3-6-1 formation with Carrick and Antonio shielding.

I think it's time for Carrick to come on and help out. This is the perfect match for him. I want Antonio to man mark Deeney. Blind and Eric will need to work very closely on Ighalo. I also expect a lot of chasing from Wayne and Pogba. Martial will be the second striker.

I wanted to use lineup builder to begin with, the formation comes across better there but I just couldn't find a way to insert it. Here's the link though. http://lineupbuilder.com/?sk=cx3gx7

This are players that are mostly playing for their United lives.

You would have expected more. I Also expected more from the manager. He had a woeful game as well.

Blind? I don't think so. Bailley is unproven as yet. Ibra is a one year wonder. Sorry, not convinced.

As for Arsenal. You make a fair point but with the signings they've made I think they look stronger and they were runners up last year.

Not a closet Liverpool fan? I praised them most.
I do like watching attractive football and at the moment the best teams to watch are City, Liverpool and yes, for all their frailties, Arsenal.

If Ibra is a 1 year wonder, Arsenal are a 0 in everything - which they are, just a pointless club.
Arsenal fan wumming again. So ashamed of the club he supports he hides under Charlton, says it all really. Awful, awful club, are Arsenal.

Doesn't post during our opening 4 wins, yet rushes on as soon as we struggle, this is the mark of a serial wum. Slags off united while praising rivals, mark of a serial wum.
Thankfully, you've blown your cover, you'll be banned soon.

I agree that the players who haven't been playing and came in should have realised it is their United careers on the line, but that is another issue. The fact that they haven't played much time might have impacted on them being effective. Rojo is just crap, no amount of minutes will change that.

There have just been to many false dawns with this group.

It was a rarity to lose back to back games under Sir Alex(no matter what team he put out) but now losing three on the trot isn't so shocking.

Don't agree. After 2 losses on the bounce and a tricky away game at Watford who are no mugs, a draw wouldn't be a bad result, another loss however would be a disaster.

My point is, I imagine Mou will set us up not to concede as the main priority.

    United squad vs Watford
United have travelled to Watford today and Eric Bailly, Luke Shaw and Wayne Rooney were all with the travelling party. It looks like Lingard, Mkhitaryan and Darmian are not travelling.

Full squad: De Gea, Johnstone, Romero, Blind, Smalling, Young, Rooney, Rashford, Shaw, Carrick, Pogba, Schneiderlin, Valencia, Martial, Depay, Fellaini, Ibrahimovic, Mata, Herrera, Rojo.
I love the way the M.E.N say Bailly travelled then leave his name off the list.
