    Huge game.

I expect another cagey and tight game where we struggle to create chances.

Might have to rely on some moment of magic or a blunder to win it.

Hope I'm wrong and we smash them. A good performance would be nice to see.

After the dour performance on Saturday, we showed we can win ugly. I'm not expecting a wonderful game as Wolves rarely play an open game which invites attacking. They will sit back and hope for the break.

However with such an important game against Watford coming up, I'm expecting changes from them. How intensive will they be?

We need to be more dynamic against Wolves this time, the FA cup game was very dour, and pedestrian. Hoping to see McTominay in place of Matic, Fred and Herrera (surely he can't be as poor as Saturday in successive matches), with Pogba further forward (I'm hoping that Ole's comment about Pogba's defensive abilities was a red herring). Rashford and Martial up front, and Dalot as wingback. Think two CB's will stay the same, Lindelof didn't have his best game against them last time. Would like to see Shaw and Dalot pushing forward a lot more, with McTominay holding the defensive position, and Fred and Herrera covering the full backs when they go forward, get Pogba making runs into the box with both Rashford and Martial doing the same, one near post, one far post. Pogba can also pick up Neves when Wolves have possession.

I am curious will Wolves rest some players. If they were playing against Arsenal, Everton, Spurs i am sure that they would do it but against us, they will not do it. "Lets beat United, feck FA cup."

To be clear, it is their right to play with any squad and play on any way they like but i would love to see for once that we are not CL final for every club with which we play.

Gotta play Lukaku tonight. I trust him in games against this type of opposition. 2 goals for him.

Absolutely. We need him for this one. Since he has got back into scoring form, he is undroppable.

Really want a see a performance full of intensity and desire tonight. Hugely important in our fight to get into the top four, and we have to prove that the cup game was just a bad day at the office.

Agree with playing Lukaku, and would like to see Lindelöf come back in so we can spread the ball a bit better from the back. Would also like to see McTominay involved, but he wasn't even on the bench at the weekend, is he out injured?

Hopefully Lukaku is fit for tonight. We evidently missed his presence uptop against Wolves in the FA Cup tie.
Rashford's and Martial's reluctance to put the ball in the box made Wolves night even easier.

Need a big game form Pogba. He's had successive bad games in a row since that 1st leg v PSG. In fairness to him, the whole mid hasn't been great, but he needs to stand up in this game. Wolves should have one eye on the fa cup match coming up, but them so should have Watford and they made it very tough for us.If Pogba plays well we play well. Our complete lack of creativity in mid is so exposed when he's not in the game.

(I believe) Ole worked out our defense and counter attacking side of things. Hopefully Ole works out our midfield issue from now on.

Must win game. I have faith in Ole with tactics and team selection.

We've struggled twice now against Wolves this season, both times having had over 60% of the ball and refusing to match their back three. I think it would be a good decision to match the back three this time and see if we can get any joy, but I'm not sure Ole will do that. He seemed very reluctant to do it against PSG when we were getting destroyed down their left and left it too late against Arsenal to change it. On this evidence I think playing against a back three could be considered a problem for us and the way Ole likes to set up isn't working against that particular set up.

This does create an issue of us possibly losing an attacking player if Ole wants to stick with Herrera and Matic, but I think this could be a good starting approach to the game:

    de Gea
    Lindelof Smalling Jones
    Young Herrera Matic Shaw
    Pogba
    Lukaku Rashford

I think Martial went off as a precaution so will be on the bench.

We're probably more likely to see Lingard instead of Lindelof, Jones to get the nod again after his performance against Watford.

Really hope McTominay comes in for this one.

Which isn't a sentence I thought I'd be saying a few months ago.

They will most likely defer the ball to us again and look to hit on the counter. I would go with the following and leave Lingard on the bench as he is most effective if we are the ones playing on the counter.

    DDG
    Dalot Smalling Lindelof Shaw

    Fred
    Herrera Pogba

    Martial
    Lukaku Rashford

Subs: Romero, Lingard, Pereira, Matic, Young, Greenwood

Hope we learned some lessons last time.

The shape of the team was badly wrong. Do not start Martial.

I can’t see anything but a defeat, sounds terribly negative
I know but I just have a strong feeling.

Hope I am very wrong and willing to accept any abuse should we win easily later.

Are they likely to play their strongest team? Not a whole lot to play for in the league, and their biggest game of the season coming up on the weekend...

United fans worrying about whether Wolves will play their strongest team...just shows where we are right now.
Why we getting mad negativity like this? We’re in a better place right now going forward than in a long time.

Need Lindelof back for this. Someone to link defence and midfield and push us up the pitch or we'll be hanging on again.

I just can't see us losing twice against Wolves away in 3 weeks
So are you taking the dog for a walk then?
Watching (check listings), Holby City instead?
If we don’t play to our best then we will lose. Pogba needs to improve and if he is wasteful again and easily gives the ball away then he needs subbing. Ole needs to show he’s the new boss and won’t stand for any crap. And that goes for the rest of them as well!

Bullshit. Wolves have been good against many top 6 teams this season so it does matter if they play their strongest team. I hope our players don't underestimate them like you because then we will surely loose.

Is 20 competitive matches (I think?) plus a couple of months training with Solskjaer, including a mini break, not enough time to nail down tactics? Not being funny but other squads seem to be able to change their style when a new manager comes in. Besides, we don't actually know what Solskjaers style is yet.
Two and a half seasons wasn't enough for Jose.

He wasn't exactly good there last time.

Well when you look at it, they are 17 points worse than us with a 0 GD. So maybe they are game raisers, because they either do not score enough goals in other games or leak a hell of a lot.
For every eye-catchingly good performance they've had some terrible displays/results: 0-2 vs Palace, 1-0 vs Huddersfield, 2-0 vs Burnley. They are undoubtedly capable of some very good stuff but we should be confident we can get at them tonight.

There is still the thing with us about worrying about other clubs. That is something we need to get rid of. Yes there is a chance you might lose a game, but don't go into it thinking that.

I would start him as well if he is fit. We missed him against Wolves in the cup. They sat back low and without Lukaku we dont really have a presence in the penalty area against teams that play similarly.

Goal scoring is their problem all season. But that's something they've fixed in December/January but are kinda struggling again.

They'll have no problem shooting/scoring if our midfield is as shite as it was against Watford.

I think we need to show we can play on the front foot against teams like Wolves, who can sit back and pick us off on the break. Where I agree is that I think that is about us, our limitations tactically and in personnel terms, rather than our opponents.

I would play Lukaku and Dalot as they will sit deep again and playing through them will be very tough. Got to try to get wide and get 2 on 1s against their full backs and work good crossing and cut back situations. Dalot being our best Crosser and Lukaku our only striker with a box presence.
