He'd probably end up being one of their better players.
It's possible since Milan is atrocious. This would actually be a good move for him; good chance to impress, big name club. He could do a Smalling here.

He'd do great there. Aware from all the abuse, I just can't imagine him actually making the move though.
He'd receive a lot more abuse there. United fans are lenient on their own players.

For example, Suso got a load of stick at home last year despite actually contributing. Whilst here Lingard does nothing here for over a year and is treated better than Pogba.

imagine
Just a player to get them back on track. In all seriousness, I guess Ibra wants him to come? I'd expect him to have a big say, especially since he had played with him.

To be honest, looking at the goals Lukaku is scoring now, I wouldn't be too surprised if Lingard would find Serie A an easier league to play in.

He'd be good for them. He's not nearly as shit as people make out, but the constant abuse he gets won't allow him to succeed here.

Yes, since the World Cup, his form has been utterly shocking. 2019 stats are beyond a joke. But even when he was really good for us (2017/18 - Build up to the world cup, he was fantastic) he still got slated and people tried to ridicule him.

I hope he makes the move and I hope does really well.

I think he'd be a better player for them then he is for us due to a lower level of competition, tempo, etc. Again, like Smalling.

Maybe, but I was talking about the hypothetical abuse he'd receive at Milan if he went on a similar patch of form there as his current form here. We may moan online and outside the games, but in the stadium he still gets the full support of Old Trafford. At Milan, they won't hesitate to boo him during games like with Suso last year.

I understand. Yes, United supporters are fantastic in the stadium and always have been.

Knew he'd been told he was done at United, most likely was told his contract wasn't getting renewed. This last year has been a writeoff and appointing Raiola is the move of a man who's looking to get a move somewhere decent in Europe.
Let's hope so. He's been here too long and hasn't improved. Nowhere near good enough for us.

Imagine him blabbering about United after he secures move elsewhere that how United didn’t do this and do that and how he needed confidence, fall in love with football again and blah blah blah

I'm sceptical that he was told he was done as such, my thought is that his wage aspirations were pretty far removed from what the club wanted to offer.

I think he's done here. I know a number of match going fans that can't stand him after that interview about his troubles that he did recently.

 everyone still defending Lingard,

"He's not as bad as everyone thinks"
"Get back on track"

He's never been on track. This guy had 0 assists and 0 goals in the whole of 2019, as a Number 10. Yet apparently he isn't that bad? Jesus what happened to the standards in this place.

Hope to god that rumour is true but its very unlikely, though who knows with Raiola as his agent now.

Seeing as under the current manager Lingard starts pretty much all our big games, the narrative of him being told he's not wanted here anymore seems a bit like wishful thinking from some to me.

Is there a reason that there isn’t a separate part of the forum for league 1 and 2 stuff? Surely it’s just clogging up the thread with posts the majority aren’t interested in?
it’s not a moan as such, I just find I don’t come here much anymore because I’m not interested in who Colchester have their eye on... it’s a Manchester United forum ffs
Not picking holes in your non moaning post but this is the transfer tweet thread ir doesnt specify which team(s)

well-known name, big wages, little actual contribution on the pitch. He's everything Milan are looking for these days.

Yeah right! that’s the reason he’s shite for us but not the fact that he’s not good enough.:rolleyes:

The excuses that are made for this nothing player is getting ridiculous.

Right on the money, he's such a typical Milan transfer.

On a more serious note, he'll be absolutely useless in Italy where defenses are pretty tight with no spaces.

I'm quite happy to see the lower league stuff. Especially when someone takes the jump from non league to a league side, like that Josh March signing for Forest Green from National League north Leamington. 24 goals in 27 games is well worth a punt for them. Good luck to the lad.

Or brainless management.

As much as I think Lingard isn't good enough for us, I don't think we're in the position to be gleefully selling midfielders.

We need Piatek. If Ole and Ed let him go to another Premier League club that's the final straw for me.

Lukaku, Dzeko, Higuain would disagree. The time when they produce lots of elite defenders had long gone. The tempo is also quite slow which benefit Lingard's style in midfield.

What's clogging up the thread is people constantly posting about Fridge, talking about having him blocked and posting which players they would sign.

Fridge is one of the only people posting Tweets in the Transfer Tweets Thread.

More Tweets less noise!

Lingard's last assist/goal in the Premier League was on 1/29/19 against Burnley (an assist). He's played 1,355mins since then ffs. Don't defend him, he had an abysmal year.

Why are so many people annoyed by others thinking Lingard would do well if he was to move on? I don't get the fury. It's not a massive defence of his more often than not abysmal form for us in the last year, it's just being level headed and realising plenty of players have been rejuvenated by a different environment.
