Do people think we will announce Sporting Director before being verified or afterwards

I think the tricky part is that Omar Berrada will have a big say over it. Perhaps it’ll even be his call. And he’s not going to be officially in position until the Summer

Not officially but much like INEOS appointing him I expect them to be communicating, confident we will have announced someone soon

Our medical department has been a joke when you look at the number of soft tissue injuries our players get...with relatively lower numbers of tackles, sprints, presses to give some context.

Glad this has been identified as an issue.

I doubt it'd take that long. Omar will probably give his opinions on Ineos's selections before he's officially in position otherwise that means we will start the summer transfer window with zero strategy in place.

I don't think he has to wait till summer to give an opinion or suggestion. If anything these kind of discussions have probably already taken place.

Fully agree. This has been a major issue for years at United so delighted this has already been spotted and actioned.

Well I saw Ornstein was asked about it and he answered (after I’d made my post) saying effectively the same thing as me

He added that Berrada would not be legally allowed to work in his 6 month gardening leave post-city. And yet any sporting director appt would likely need to meet him and be interviewed by him

It is a tough one. It could take longer than people think.

The only way it doesn’t is if Berrada already knows who he wants and is happy for Ineos and Stewart to get it done.

You would think if that's the case then Utd journos will be saying the appointments may take a while which hasn’t been suggested yet

I haven’t seen anyone suggest it’s going to be quick either. Just that it’s the next priority.

I’d hope that when interviewing Berrada, INEOS and himself would have been in alignment about who they want the sporting director to be anyway. So Ineos can crack on.

But if not, Berrada has a 6 month wait. That could be mid-July before he starts officially. Then the interview stage for a sports director could take a month or so, then they themselves might have a long gardening leave period.

There's no chance we appoint a sporting director that can't start till into next season. Everything Ineos have dome so far is geared towards going into the summer with a plan, I can't see them suddenly kicking the can another 6 months down the line.

They just got the CEO sorted within a month, and before the deal has been officially ratified.

All noise from INEOS so far is really positive. I doubted how much influence they'd really have with just 25% share but looks like I might be wrong (I hope).

Our medical team has clearly been very poor for years so glad we are finally looking at it. Some practices even at top clubs would shock people.

I know a Footballer who played for Wolves about 5 years ago in the PL. He fell out with the medical team because as part of their training regime they always did a heavy leg session in the gym on a Thursday so players were fatigued on Saturday, were getting poor results and injuries...... Just absolute madness. Since hearing that I know anything is possible even at the top level.

What's written on paper and what actually happens are two different stories altogether. We've seen that with Kenyon when he moved from United to Chelsea. Chelsea had made sure to have all stars aligned to poach almost every player we wanted. What I think that we need ASAP is a head of recruitment. We can't afford yet another summer of Murtough's negotiation
