He looks like a Pep/City player to me. I think he'd have done a really good job for them this season filling in for De Bruyne. He's obviously not at that level yet but he miles better than Nunes and Kovacic.

I wonder how long he will stick at Chelsea as they continue to flounder?
I think he’s a decent upgrade on Kovacic but that’s a lot of money to spend for a pretty small improvement.

It's hard to tell because Chelsea are such a clown show but I feel like he was in the current City team he's look far better than a decent upgrade on Kovacic.

Unless he moves on or Chelsea become significantly better, we might never know!

He's in or around the top for most of the advanced metrics for his profile of player, despite playing out of position half the time, Poch's tactics not exactly playing to his strengths when he's not (he had him doing overlaps on the left hand side yesterday ffs) and the general mess around him.

Long story short, him getting any blame for our predicament is almost about an nonsensical as blaming Allison for Liverpool's struggles last season, or Willian for 15/16.

He isn't that good, he is a decent midfielder but he quite obviously isn't the type of CM you should be paying 100m for

Weird time to bump the thread when Enzo's just had a pretty good match. Made a couple of mistakes in the game but overall he was playing very well.

Pretty good, but not world class like he is hyped up to be.

He obviously hasnt delivered on the fee and the hype that came with it. At least his most recent game was pretty good and if he can carry on like that he'll be a fantastic player. The problem is he has only had 5 or 6 matches like that this season and out of 16 starts in the league thats not enough. 22 so he still has time on his side and if it doesnt work out at Chelsea plenty of time to go to a better club with players around him on form and look better.

You don't pay 121 million euros for pretty good.

He’s playing pretty well, with pubalgia (lots of pain), and generally out of his more ideal positions. We have plenty of busts in our signings, not sure why people feel the need to force the perception of one with him.

Think it's to compensate for the wild overhyping that came his way.
See, I didn’t think he was super overhyped. He wasn’t like Jude Bellingham hyped. He was just supposed to be a really good, mainstay box to box midfielder; which he is. He has the technique, vision and flare to be an upper echelon mid when the team improves around him and he’s playing with more than one functional hip.

Chelsea doesn’t have the draw of a Madrid or United. 80 to 100m is going to be a fairly average rate for anyone who has those sorts of options. If we had waited til Summer, we probably wouldn’t have gotten him at all. I think he costs us about 8 to 10m a year towards our FFP cap? and they got the up front number they wanted. That’s matters more than the number outlets run with.

Paying 100m and a lower salary for a 21/22 year old is a LOT different than paying 70m for a 28 year old on a 3 year deal worth 300k per week (generalized example). Thats something people still seem to have trouble grasping with the Chelsea “project”.

!20m fee means he was overhyped, otherwise why pay so much?

Your best young players would want to play in the Champions League. This kind of noise was only a matter of time.

Yeah, not exactly the best source, but these issues are bound to pop up soon unless Chelsea's results dramatically improve.

Boehly is the T-1000 to Woodwards janky T-800. Come back in time with molten metal arms and 15 year contracts to destroy another English football club.

I've been watching the Terminators yes what of it.

They should perhaps try playing to a standard that would get to the Champions League then.

And there's not really any noise, just some random twitter account posting without a single quote or source.

The players should be ok pissed off with how things are going though, I'd be more concerned if it was all smiles.

The Athletic are reporting that some of Chelsea's new arrivals are regretting the long-term contracts and do not see the grand project that was sold to them...

Mudryk looks worse.
I’d take Mudryk over Antony. It’s marginal, but Mudryk has some fundamentals that could make him a useful footballer. He’s the type that could be sold to the Bundesliga and get some success. I’m not even sure Antony could do that.
Mudryk even has goals and assists in the league this year. Yes, multiple of both. Imagine that.

No it's not, Mudryk definitely looks better.
Antony looked alright last season in spells, this season has been garbage but there has been underlying circumstances.

Mudryk looks like some rookie plucked out of nowhere for a kings ransom....

Not sure about this. Mudryk more explosive but generally braindead. Antony is blunt as a plastic spoon but is much more hard working and better in his link up play.
