Very worrying. To put in context what this looks like compared to the rest of the PL
Nobody at Ineos should need anything more than this graph to pull the plug on him.

If he's still here after Liverpool, Ineos will already be failing hard at running things.

Surely he knows how crap we are??
I think there’s only so many times you can say “we weren’t good enough” & “we’ll do better next time” before people stop believing you. In fact, I think we hit that point around December.

The guys lost any semblance of control at this stage, and is just managing decline. Big Jim needs to take him out the back of old Trafford tomorrow morning and introduce him to the club shotgun. Put us all out of our misery.

Tbf I'm happy for half the ETH ones to go and all the non- (bar Garnacho).
I’m not talking about their perceived quality.

The post I quoted said “these players can’t keep getting away with it, season after season.” I just want to know which players they’re referring to because I keep seeing these “this team/these players have sacrificed one too many managers” posts and it’s a considerably different team to the one even the last manager had, so I’m quite confused

Surely you know by now that what is said in front of the cameras is not the same as what is said in the dressing room or on the training pitch.

I've watched the UEFA feed after a Liverpool match with Klopp fuming and then as soon as him and the interviewer were given a count from 5 his smile went up and there was a totally different atmosphere.

When reading anything in sports, be it an interview or a journalistic piece, you have to filter away a lot of shit to get any truth out of it.

Only Man Utd fans would still be debating whether a guy who has made us a laughing stock should be given more time.

He surely is gone this summer. Its only a 1 year pay off.

he’s abandoned the principles he was bought in for and we now play kick and rush lets face it. Yes he’s been let down by several of the players but hes carried on playing them. I’d rather have seen us play his way this year even if it meant seeing mainoo and mejbri(who was later loaned out) in midfield and the likes of diallo starting most weeks. I’d back him then despite results if I could see what we were trying and sympathise with the fact we lacked quality and ability in some positions.

instead we still see mctominay and rashford play most weeks.

his press conferences have become delusional - did he actually say tonight the quality of our football is really high or is someone trolling?

he has to go and so do several of the ‘big’ players we have. We’ve got nothing - squad is ass, manager is useless. INEOS surely cant be looking to let any of those issues hang over? Whats the point of trying to bring in new players this summer to waste away under this clueless prat?

"It was for the neutral an amazing game. A fantastic football game with a lot of quality."

Quality? You're not in the Dutch league anymore

"Manchester United dominated the game but we made individual errors that cost us the game."

Dominated? Less possession, less shots, less corners. Less touches. Less passes. Less chances. Plonker

"We have to learn from it. When you are a Man Utd player you should already know how to deal with this circumstance."

That's why you coach players, so they know what to do in every situation. Obviously they don't know how to deal with it because it keeps happening.

"I enjoyed how my team were playing, it was fantastic. We dominated the ball, we dominated the opponent."

As delusional as a fecking flat earther

"In five days we dropped five points. That is unacceptable. We should have a high standard if we want to compete for Champions League football."

We should have higher standards? Finally something we agree on. That's why we must sack you ASAP
I was watching the overlap show today and they were discussing moyes at United with Rio. Carragher said something interesting about Roy Hodgson at Liverpool and how he would say some stuff like how they played well against United in a loss which was just difficult to understand for anyone at the club. This guy is similar, he is out of his depth and just doesn’t get what United is. Manchester United are getting embarrassed every week and he is talking absolute gibberish

Him and Ajax deserve each other...

Same for the bloke in the recruitment department who signed off on giving them 100m for Antony

It's not a surprise is it? We've been shit for 12 months and it's easy to know the games we'll struggle in. Unfortunately these days we're all too predictable.

We'd get rinsed again the CL, it's right we're not holding on to a slim hope of 5th. We look like we're in CL form in the PL now, just giving up goals from winning positions. The calamity has to end, this is not serious football or a base to go from. From the opening games it's been a car crash.

My main concern now is that so many injuries (ETH must be one of the main reasons causing them) might have long lasting impact for the next few seasons.

Nothing about our football is sustainable or looks well trained or thought out. I can't believe after two years this is where we're at, and still look this poor at the basics.
I don't get it at all. That spell last season World Cup - Carabao Cup we were doing everything right.

Maybe we ignored the signs before. The theme of getting ahead of ourselves and bottling and having a soft core it is something Ajax did too. They beat Juve and Madrid and Spurs away then bottled it in the last minute AT HOME.

You hear it all the time “it’s the players , the players are terrible “

I feel sorry for them, it’s quite obvious the manager isn’t the tactician we all thought he was.

It’s the managers job to instil belief and coach his team in game to handle these situations if he’s unable to get his message across to the team then he is failing at his role.

Sack him , no matter what happens end of the season he needs to go , if we take him into a New season coaching this team we won’t get any better.

His handling of injuries is baffling and borderline gross incompetence.

Injuries
Player attitude

They are symptoms but the problem is the manager.

I don’t understand why SJR has not pulled the trigger yet? Why is that when it’s mathematically impossible to get CL for a manager to get sacked?

Look at the despicable stats and tactical stubbornness from ETH.

Oh how far we have fallen.

I imagine unless he loses to Coventry that he will get the rest of the season but it's probably unlikely he survives to start next season.

I guess it depends on whether they've already started talking to other managers and what responses they've got, we don't want to be in a situation where Liverpool, Bayern, Barcelona and probably Juventus have hoovered up the more attractive options and we end up deciding between Southgate, Potter or keeping Ten Hag.

To be fair, if Sir Jim was looking at the fixtures and we have someone lined up, post Pool would be a dream time to start. 4 relegation teams and Coventry with newcastle getting pushed back.

If I remember right, we have a clause in our managers' contracts where they can be sacked with a smaller/no payoff if they fail to qualify for CL.

Not just annoying but condescending, making out they know more about football, that one guy I can’t think of his username, something like don’tmesswith has been insufferable. Now they start changing their mind and want to forget all that they said about them knowing more and having a fit team will change it all
Nearly all of his posts have a line in along the lines of "I know more than you about football"

He looked defeated after the game there. I've never seen his demeaner quite like that in the post match interviews. I wonder if he felt that was it for him, whether it comes now or at the end of the season, it's a second consecutive gut punch of a result and those underlying stats aren't looking any better.

I don’t necessarily want him sacked, but I don’t think I’d complain either. It’s getting a bit like Ole towards the end. It’s got that inevitability about it.

This! There's prospective coaches (and players) we could lose out on by wasting time instead of doing what clearly needs to be done.

I think he's getting the rest of the season, but then he's done.
I think Liverpool being next means it’s hard to sack him and give anyone half a chance at a good start.

I might be crazy but I still think there is like a 35% chance he stays on beyond.

Perfect storm of competing with other top clubs for top managerial candidates.

The two best ones not at “big” clubs aren’t moving.

Hes also shown quite clearly he's not very adaptable.

He hasn't delivered it, and there's no excuse for it. We're still open, it's still chaos and no win is convincing. It's all really terrible, bit of a nightmare.

This season is beyond terrible, we need a change and that has to start with the manager and INEOS putting in an actual recruitment strategy.

Bye Erik. Have no ill will towards him at all and I blame the players more than anything but I don't know what he's trying to do here. His signings have been shit and his tactics bizarre.

You’ve been militant about the injuries and giving Ten Hag more time in the face of a mountain of data and our performances for months now. You decide today you’ve had enough of it and want to backtrack on everything you said because you’ve run out of patience all of a sudden.
Monitor my posts better of late. I didn't decide shit today.

Hes also shown quite clearly he's not very adaptable.

I've been vocal in backing him and put my reasoning on the line - injuries to key personnel. But when he can field two full backs and two center backs, whilst keeping his striker options on the pitch, I'm expecting performances.

He hasn't delivered it, and there's no excuse for it. We're still open, it's still chaos and no win is convincing. It's all really terrible, bit of a nightmare.
It’s a massive shame because when we play well we’re really good, and like Ole + LVG we’ve brought through exciting young players. It’s bad though when even you’ve turned mate.

You’ve been dishing it out all season with OTT posts like the one below so just take it on the chin now that you’ve been proven wrong.
I'm actually curious what happened in those 7 games now.

Why is it suddenly quiet in here?
Oh dear!

Enjoy the win.

@Amadaeus is somewhere having an absolute meltdown.
You people never learn do you?

When he runs I think my stream is buffering
That's hilarious.

Sooooo…
Soooo...

;)

1 point from Brentford and Chelsea. Enjoy your fecking night.
I hope these morons leave with Erik.

Really?

Like really? Feck off.

Dont gloat when United have lost like that? Jesus Christ. Imagine that being your first thoughts.
Wow, really? Hypocritical much?

My my my so quick to give it out but you can't take it.
Why on earth would you want to make a fellow United fan feel worse after that loss?

I give out when we’re winning so there’s at least some enjoyment to be had. Never when we’re losing.

What you’re doing is just being a dick. It was a dickish post to make.
If you can't take it don't fecking give it out! Here you are gloating, not the only one mind. But then have the fecking nerve to get the arse when someone calls you out. You're as much as a clown as the prat you keep defending. :houllier:
