We are so woefully setup, its not even funny. Every ball lost is a counter with numerical advantage against us.
Can’t believe I ever wanted this guy here.

Surely that should be higher xG based on where the keeper is?

No way is that a 3 in 100 shot in an empty net.
Yes, but do most xG models take that into consideration, or do they just look at where the shot came from?

XG models won’t really have many shots of similar kind to account for.
True, and nobody is shooting from there unless the keeper is already out of position anyway, so to an extent that's already captured in the model.

In theory they look at where the shot come from and where relevant opponents were. In this case the low xG is likely due to a mixture of low sample size and low success rate.

Do we even need a manager? Just tell the players to shoot at every opportunity and we'll win the league with 80 screamers

The biggest difference between ten hag and the previous managers as their tenure ended is that this group of players, however poor, are absolutely still together and still playing for him. Also whoever would replace him would build a team around most of the guys hes bought or integrated.

There are positives and the criticism is way over the top though the last few months have raised real concerns, namely the inability to fix the clear midfield issue

You have to admire him for the adjustments made at half time. Hope players don’t lose it again.

The players are still playing for him it seems, don’t buy any of this “they’re not trying” nonsense
Has anyone said that?

The problem is the players are following his instructions to the letter, that's why we're so shite.
