Based on what exactly? Short of a shocking decision in our favour, we're not beating City. Not after we almost bottled a 3-0 lead against the mighty Coventry.
Mainly just vibes if I'm honest. Not good vibes either but vibes

Please god, please enough of this baldy. He has made us so mediocre, so bad, the victory feels so hollow, rather disgusting like having an affair.

Ye of little faith, it was never in doubt!

Jokes aside I'm wavering after today, the lack of professionalism shown by the team after we went 3 up was mind boggling and incredibly frustrating. It may have been a total fluke for the 2nd and a harsh penalty for the 3rd, but Coventry should never have been allowed to get into those positions.

I'm still not on board with the caretaker approach, but as I've said before given the new ownership and structure it feels like we'll actually have an approach and a plan and can get a manager to fit into that.

Ineos aren't going to be taken seriously with their "best in class" spiel if they hesitate at this point.

One and a half years and we still play at a walking pace unless it's a transition.

Wasn't good but where was mr 375 thousand pounds per week, mr McLaren sportscar taking responsibility in the shoot out? What a train wreck this season but the players that should deliver are not there. Bruno an exception, even if I think he should score more but what can you do with this lot. I remain Erik in. Clean out the dressing room.
Where to even start unpicking this drivel

Another tactical change by a championship manager and he didn't react. They bashed us last 30 mins 2nd half. Cut us to shreds down that right side.

One lucky man and team.

No point turning up for that final if no improvement or change, city will have game won by half time.

Goodbye ETH. This afternoon highlighted everything about your tenure as Man Utd manager.

Pack your gear. Good luck in your next role.

Why have we been delaying the inevitable? It's been clear all season he's not the man. We've regressed.
No point getting a caretaker in. Would give us that manager boost and allow some players to hide. Better to see them for what they are.

He definitely should be gone at the end of the season and was definitely at fault for today's game. However today is more on the players IMO. As soon as the game becomes slightly chaotic, we lose all composure. Then they concede 1 goal and started hiding in their shells. Some of these players are truly pathetic.

Genuinely get Ole back for a 1 game cup final special.

At least he knows how to beat Pep and there's nothing to lose for either him or the club.

Rashford came off 30 mins before that. You’re a clear WUM. I’m reporting you again.

I can't remember the last time I've actively looked forward to a manager of ours being replaced. He's on a different planet. I'm tired of his decision making, I'm tired of his lack of standards, and I'm tired of his lack of preparation for a game like this. We were 3-0 up FFS! Utter embarrassment.

Should be sacked immediately before any of his replacement candidates swooped up by Pool, Bayern or anyone else.
That’s not the United Way we don’t do that to the managers apparently. Anyway, hope no CL clause kicks in soon enough and that would be it for him at this club.

Not even in my wildest dreams did I think we would get to this level today. I thought surely at 3-0 not even him can balls this up. But boy was I wrong. Wow.

Second best team on the day and we got lucky. He needs sacking before the final if we are going to make it even competitive.
He’s taken any joy out of football this season - such a negative, odd manager

I don’t really understand how the players aren’t catching any flack compared to the manager. People are vastly overstating how much control a manager has in the middle of a game, especially from a winning position. If you’re losing you can go gung-ho etc.

What’s he supposed to tell the players? You listen to any ex-pros and they tell you it’s always about the players once the game has started.

That said, he’s still gotta go.

For me the mark of a good manager is to have some sort of style & philosophy which doesn’t change regardless of who plays. Villa against Arsenal last week played out from the back regardless of how risky it was because that’s their style. We have a manager who after 2 years doesn’t know what he is trying to do with the team

Extra time I understand that the players were tired but how can you have 30 minutes with Bruno & Eriksen in front of Maguire & Casemiro in the middle when your opponents are playing on the counter. Every time we lost the ball in ET Coventry were 3 on 3 or better. Just embarrassing tactics which even a schoolboy would know better than this. I can’t believe what I am watching week in week out

He's toast, whether it is this evening or after the final there will be someone else in the dugout next season.

Yep. Barca, Bayern and The Scouse are in the market. INEOS need to be swift and decisive with this sacking and re-hiring.

Now. Otherwise we get left behind. Again.

How can we have any chance of winning the final with ETH in charge against Pep? Bring Ole back for 1 match
