It's disappointing that he really hasn't progressed either. Players don't become better at Man Utd. Surely any decent player (and he's been in Brazil's squad ffs) can be taught to do a bit more, or to improve aspects of their play.
Just like Fred then. People also treated him like he was Djemba-Djemba but he was probably the most consistent midfielder in the 5 years he's been here and much better than some would give him the credit for. So maybe, just maybe once again people are going over the top with their criticism with Antony.

We all love United
Had a great debut scoring against the Arsenal and everyone thought he’s going to be brilliant here, then it all turned to pots. He’s not a bad player by any means but just too limited for the top level as a professional winger

Did you see him whispering to Mount and Onana at the end?

I’m pretty sure it relates to the incident just before he was subbed off when we had three on one breakaway where Hojlund ran past his pass leaving it straight to the palace player. Antony reacted furiously throwing his arms up in the air in disgust at Hojlund...the argument continued for 30 seconds before the orders to sub him came from the bench.
To me this shows that some of the players don’t rate Hojlund and the disharmony in the squad.. mind you I think Hojlund looks very raw and off the pace
It was a moronic pass. Hojlund has lots of room to improve, but a couple of first season goals and some half-decent 'defensive winger' work aside,, Antony has been awful: the fact that someone who seldom beats players with an ounce of pace also doesn't have the technique to consistently find his team-mates, begs the question as to what he's there for, except to ruefully grin whenever he plants a curling shot well over the bar or pillow-like into the keeper's arms..

So much already said about the player. I think it's a toss-up between him and Onana who is actually the worst of the two.
I'm going with Onana purely because he's a goalie.

That time he had about 4 options to pass it to and still gave it away passing it behind the player. He cannot pass a ball to a moving target at all
And then him moaning just sums him up. Hes so unlikable. Which wouldnt be a problem if he was good at anything.

Being called up for Brazil isn't this huge achievement. We hand out caps like candy.

I thought Fred was totally misused. Ironically he’d have been better pressing further up the pitch which is what we got Mount for.

But he is a bad player. If he's not a bad player, there are no bad players in the Premier League.

Hopefully we go back to vetting a players character before signing them. Regardless of how talented they look in other leagues.

Antony should be kissing the egg like Blanc and Barthez a few years back!

No other manager would put up with this shite.

A nothing player, just rubbish and dust. We should actively look to sell asap or loan

Almost cemented his status as the worst signing in PL history now.

It's weird I watched him a few years ago in the CL for Ajax and he looked amazing.

I think it's just a case of players come to United and their careers just die. Until they leave and then they reincarnate magically

Not this case. I still remember his highlights before joining United and my lord, there was absolutely nothing special.

When you pair his pretty arogant attitude with his complete lack of ability. He becomes a player we could really really do without.

Add on him bitching to Mount in plain sight of cameras, shows he's almost certainly a toxic element to the dressing room.

In the bin with him now

It's always dangerous reading too much into body language/reactions on the pitch/etc., but I always found that clip of him seemingly dismissing Maguire last season to be a bit of an ominous sign.

I don't like him but this means nothing. I think we should focus on the game, where he fecked up an simple opportunity to play someone in on the counter attack and proceeded to blame the runner, rather than his pass that went straight to the only Palace defender.

The rumor is fake. Globo never reported it, and the original claim comes from a parody account.

At least Antony can be benched for bad performance.

It's the little grin he does every single time he misplaces a pass/shot, like it was really close and he was on the cusp of looking a competent footballer.

I thought he was terrible against Palace but i'd like to see clip again where he went absolutely mental at someone after HE misplaced a pass in the second half. It was a counter opportunity and i think we had four players on the attack and he passed the ball to Palace player but then started screaming at someone- think it was either Mount or Hojlund.

I think it was Garnacho he was having a go at.
It was bizarre, completely his fault and after the counter attack was over he went at him again
