It’s a bit annoying how when one bad candidate goes down in the polls, another muppet takes the place. Even if (probably a question of when) Buttigieg gets shown up for being an empty suit, Steyer might start gaining ground because he talks the right game. I wish people would start shifting their mindset away from needing a “CEO” of America to needing a true representative of America.

I continue to be baffled by a society that thinks it's ok for someone to risk financial ruin because they get sick.

Medicare for all is the only answer to this problem.

The good ol American idea that if you get sick it must be your fault/probably deserved it so why should I pay for you.. Until it happens to them.

Republicans and democrats as well have long sold people on the idea that caring for others in that way is socialist, thus evil - rather than making people see that social thinking is not the same as being a commie.

Sadly for poor Americans it's more likey the rich captains of industry that have caused their illnesses.

Massive disinformation campaign by all media.
For example Mayor Pete's Medicare For All plan does not eliminate Premiums or Deductibles.

Why do these candidates talk of Medicare For All? Because that is what people want.
But only Bernie offers Single Payer like they have in Canada.

Pete is such an obvious choice for big donors in Democratic party. They get to check the social progressive box by pushing for the first gay president and keep the status quo as far as economic system is concerned. They desperately want him to be another Obama.

Bernie et al need to put mc4a into terms that get rid of the BS socialism tag that repubs and corporate hacks have been using. Can they use other examples, like the interstate highway system, etc examples where large federal programs have been used for all people?

Doesn't matter what it's called - when a Dem proposes it it is government overreach and out of control spending - when the Rs propose it its stimulating the economy or subsidizing the greatness of America.

Warren has tried, and you can see how she's being roasted from either side of the Dem party for the attempt.

Including by the purists on here.

tbf, Warrren isn't being transparent about the plan. She didn't give the CNN talking heads the sound bite they were looking for but she can be clearer.
It's all in how the candidates package it to the US people. It needs to be clear and concise.
There's plenty of money there, it's how it's going to be sold.

Michael More asked at the rally. "How can Canada afford single payer?"
Health Care is basic and not complicated at all to implement.

If you are a family earning $50,000 say and you have a 'reasonable' plan, and a family member has to see a doctor for something that is not major, you can get a bill that you have to pay for say $300.00.
Now if there are only even 3 such bills per year, thats $900.00 off your budget.
These clinics are so 'nice'. We give you a payment plan. So you end up paying $90.00 a month.
On the surface that does not seem harsh. But think about it.

That is $90.00 a month that is going straight to the bottom line of an insurance company that has tried its best to minimise what it wants to pay to the clinic.
The clinic has to pass on the Net unpaid to the family.

Some of us just pay it all when the bill comes because we don't want to track the monthly payment.

But for that family that is living hand to mouth, that is a monthly amount they have to take off something that is necessary.

All these candidates who support some form of insurance company involvement, know it is an unnecessary charge.
But they happy to push it. They take money from these insurance companies either directly or indirectly.

They know how it affects a family. Yet they are unwilling to fight for it.

They are disqualified from representing that family.

This is what we face in the Greatest Country on Earth.

EDIT: This is nothing to do with Socialism.

Bernie is a Russian Asset, just like Yang, Gabbard, Buttigieg, O'Rourke, Williamson
I don't think they are getting at the subtlety of what Clinton and especially Bill Browder were mentioning with their criticism of covert Russian support to Gabbard or Jill Stein on social media. They doesn't have to be assets of a foreign power to prop them up as long as it damages someone they don't intend to come into power.

Interesting breakdown from the Guardian of where donor support is coming from in job classes:

Teachers- Sanders
Professors- Warren
Police- Sanders
Lawyers- Biden
Executives- Buttibot
Nurses- Sanders
Doctors- Buttibot

For the General Trump has majority: Police, Military, Doctors, Executives and (this number even surprised surprised me) 83% of Retired

Also interesting to note is how many damn jobs are too poor to have the spare cash to participate here, all these donors are basically professional class requiring significant secondary education (big sign we need to reverse Citizens United and go far in the other direction)

Meanwhile Trump has given the back door key to the Russians so they can switch votes for 2020.
I honestly believe we are going to see massive issues with voting next year.
It's pretty certain I think. There's a reason why the republicans have tried all they can to stop any sort of improvement in the election process including the technology involved.

And even if they lose it ll probably be by a small enough margin to lead to a Florida recount 2.0 times several states.

What some may not appreciate is Trump is fighting for his life.
A drowning man will do anything.
The only way to counter it is to run on enthusiasm.
Actually offering real solutions.

But I will put money on the Dems screwing it up again.

It would be worth a punt to put money on Trump winning again if anyone other than Bernie is the nominee.

Trump will be defeated by a believable candidate who actually explains policies people are looking for.
Health Care is one of course.
Minimum wage
Student Debt forgiveness.
Do you live in the US? That's too idealist of a view of the american population.
