First thing that came to mind as well. Would have had to have gone pretty fecking wrong though!Shipping immigrants gone wrong?
Very likely asylum seekers.Shipping immigrants gone wrong?

Crazy, I can understand why transporting people into the country for money happens but it takes a certain kind of criminal to have a complete disregard for their safety.Very likely asylum seekers.
Carbon Monoxide? Lack of Oxygen? Heat Stress? Cold? Could be a whole range of things I guess. So many questions. Where was he transporting them to? How do you dispose of so many bodies without alerting suspicion? Are they dead immigrants or is he a serial killer? Probably dead immigrants tbf, but how did they all (I'm assuming all?!) die?
Won't be cold with the number of people crammed in a confined space. The most likely scenario will be lack of oxygen.Carbon Monoxide? Lack of Oxygen? Heat Stress? Cold? Could be a whole range of things I guess.
Thats confirmed by the Police. Very strange.Pinch of salt as Daily Mail but Lorry was from Bulgaria but travelled through Holyhead...weird.
Presumably came from/via Dublin then. Desperately sad story from what little we know.Thats confirmed by the Police. Very strange.
58 Chinese immigrants died in a similar situation in 2000 according to the article.Jaysus, one of the episodes of that new Criminal UK show was about a guy who did this and I thought it was too farfetched when I watched it.
It was a close call between bodies and sacks of potato but after a thorough examination they figured it out.How did they find out there were bodies?
Literally thought this too!Jaysus, one of the episodes of that new Criminal UK show was about a guy who did this and I thought it was too farfetched when I watched it.
39 innocent men, women and children have died. All those lives lost.Conveniently timed don’t you think?
Hard border will be back on the menu
I agree. I don't see any laughing matter here.39 innocent men, women and children have died. All those lives lost.
If anyone asks for a hard border that leads to more deaths, they've got a fecking nerve.
Some of the light hearted comments in this thread all a bit beyond the pale, in my opinion.
Not if they're being trafficked etcSo you go to all the trouble of getting these people into the Country via Holyhead, and then drive them to the other side of the Country. Doesnt make sense. Why wouldnt you let them out somewhere along the way? Surely getting them into the Country in itself is job done.
I still think there is a NI connection here, they could have already been in the UK (Northern Ireland), and being moved to London. I am still thinking sex workers. All adults and one teenager, no children etc.So you go to all the trouble of getting these people into the Country via Holyhead, and then drive them to the other side of the Country. Doesnt make sense. Why wouldnt you let them out somewhere along the way? Surely getting them into the Country in itself is job done.
I’m not laughing fella. I’m serious39 innocent men, women and children have died. All those lives lost.

Also quite staggered but not that surprised ...39 innocent men, women and children have died. All those lives lost.

There is somewhat of a possible explanation in that Irish News article posted above. Suggestion is that checks in Dover - Calais have gotten so effective that a route via Cherbourg - Rosslare - Dublin, while much longer, might incur less checks.Personally I don't think they got on the lorry in Bulgaria, why come in to Hollyhead to drive all the way down to Essex, it makes no sense?
Yeah I think they came in from Dublin, NI driver and all. Very sad. There is somewhat of a possible explanation in that Irish News article posted above.
