Adnan Januzaj

Just looking at their shoulders, you mean 'a tad taller'?

And how to make him not getting taller, by the way? :D
No I mean shorter. Unless we are living in opposite world.

And did I say for him to stop growing? All I was saying was he is already at a good height and for a player like him if added height is going to affect his balance then I'd hope he doesn't keep growing. Look at what was said about Welbeck and his growing body meant he was getting used to it and why he seemed clumsy at times and also the cause of some if his injuries.

What Adnan is missing now is healthy competition from another young attacking talent. In a way that Rooney and Ronaldo managed to steal each other's spotlight, consistently push themselves to keep up with other one's level or be better and building a telepathic understanding along the way.

Though he doesn't look like the type to get carried away, it's easy not push yourself to the limit everyday when it's so easy to stand out and win the accolades as it is for him right now.

......
He might get that from Pereira next summer...:D

Trying to stay calm with Januzaj but every game he seems to just look more and more at home.

I was guessing n monitoring.. Thninkg tat he could be our next #7 when he get older ... But now it seems quite obvious to me tat it's a no brainier tat he's not taking the legendary #7 jersey...

It's also pleasing to see him play... Imagine he's playing for Citeh or the Scourse now how would all of us feel? Absolutely nuts and distraught, would we?? Damn he's in outr book god bless..

And and... How much did we pay to get him??? Gosh... Makes all the astronomical transfer $ looks absolutely nuts..

Whatever Moyes end up with.. Whether he could bring United back up to be what we used to see.. I must gv him all the credit of Adnan's development. It takes great courage for Moyes to put him in in his 1st year in charge where pl will be putting all the blame on him in changing a winning champion team.. He must get his credit for tat, definitely!

Give Moyes all the credit? Really I like Moyes but I would say AJ has made himself 1st choice winger and the previous coaches and manager deserve most of the credit. Would be great still having Pogba and Morrison also we would have 5-6 the top under 22 year olds in the world.

Normally the most impressive youngsters break through because of excessive pace or that they're physically freakish for their age but I find the most impressive thing about Januzaj is that it's his awareness of a teammate's position and where they are running into, before taking out multiple players with a quick pass - it's a skill that's so rare in a young player. Such an exciting talent.
Good post.

Anyone wonder if Fergie was still around whether or not Januzaj would of been given the chance he has this season? Just thinking we might of had another Pogba case on our hands if Fergie was still here?

If you have a minute, could you summarize what they were saying about him?
http://www1.skysports.com/football/...dknapp-hails-david-moyes-use-of-adnan-januzaj

Redknapp hailed Januzaj as a special player after another impressive display early in his United career, and said he has the qualities to go to the very top.
He added: "He's brave and he works hard for the team. He's got desire, he can turn people inside out and he's got a magic wand of a left foot.
"He crosses so many good balls into the right areas. Van Persie and Rooney must be thinking 'I can't wait to play alongside this guy on a more regular occasion'.
"As I've said before, some players come along and make other people look average - and he has that ability."

Clever
Fellow Saturday Night Football pundit Dwight Yorke agreed that Januzaj has the potential to match any of the great players that have graced Old Trafford throughout history.
And he agreed that the half-time tactical switch allowed him to feel more comfortable and express himself as the game wore on.
Yorke said: "As a young man, that number 10 position - the position in between the defenders and the midfield - is a very clever position to play.
"He will develop into a fantastic player and we've all seen, so far, what he's capable of doing, but I think by moving him out and giving him time on the ball he will get space.
"He's got a trick. He can go past defenders and can obviously deliver a good cross as well. Those are some of the fundamental things that he will develop as he progresses. David Moyes, by doing that in the second half, enabled him to express himself.
"He's right up there with the very best; he's got a bit of everything and is going to develop into a fantastic player."

It's a difficult call seeing RvP is brilliant with his deliveries, but I'd give Adnan corner duties, and let Rooney and RvP stay in the penalty area where they can do most damage.

Frankly, I don't understand this obsession with making Januzaj mature into a number 10. Ronaldo wasn't forced to become a number 10 and it didn't hurt him or Man Utd. Particularly with his natural height if we bulked Januzaj up a bit he could make a great go of stepping into Ronaldo's shoes in that role ghosting in off the flanks for headers. We already saw at Villa that he's got that in his locker too.

I don't want Januzaj to become a number 10, I want him to be the natural successor to Giggsy and Ronaldo running that left hand touchline. Yes he's good with the ball at his feet when the space is congested and his decision making is fantastic, suggesting he could be an excellent number 10. However, the way he puts fear into full backs' eyes when he runs at them 1 on 1 makes me feel he could be an even better number 11. Januzaj's got more tricks up his sleeve than Derren Brown and he should be played where he can use those to the greatest effect: where there is space for him to attack.

He does prefer the number 10 role as previously stated, his idols are Riquelme, Zidane and Kaka and he tries to be like them as much as possible. I think his vision would be wasted on the wing but we'll see how he continues to develop, I'm no coach.

He's a frightening talent as an opposition fan, but i've known it since his reserve days that he would be a player.

As others have said, he probably deserves a Messi like role if he continues to impress where he can rotate off the striker or the wing and use all his ability across the whole pitch.
